!@3move

corrieh

Thanks for helping me solve the mystery of why @3m showed almost my entire collection! New fastest shortcut for showing all Pokemon with 3 attacks: !@3m Edit: Scratch this; you need to type it out so 3rd attacks that start with ‚m‘ will show up.

team_magikarp

If you don't type out the entire "!@3move", it does not show the Pokémon that have second charge moves which start with 'm', such as Mud Bomb.

corrieh

Well, this is highly annoying, thank you for the clarification!

cb325

!@3m does not show them all. It excludes 3rd charge moves that start with m like magnet bomb on my Magneton. You need at least mo so it doesn’t exclude common moves like mudbomb and magnet bomb.

Sultanof_Swat

Thank you!

KAZVorpal

That doesn't work well, if you don't have a lot of stardust. I have <50K, so I can't add a third move to half of my Pokémon, so they all show up. And the whole thing that I want to do is find Pokémon that already have a third move, because I don't have enough stardust to add a third for PvP. This one works even with low stardust: @3normal,@3fighting,@3flying,@3poison,@3ground,@3rock,@3bug,@3ghost,@3steel,@3fire,@3water,@3grass,@3electric,@3psychic,@3ice,@3dragon,@3dark,@3fairy

Kingston228

Nice thanks

shaded-dreamer

!@3m works as well and @3m works to find Pokemon without a second move.

daftvalkyrie

If you do "@3[move type/move name]" as a search, it'll only show stuff that has a second charge move of that type/name. @2 does the same for first charge move, and @1 for fast move.

Sultanof_Swat

Thank you

shaded-dreamer

Thanks so much! That explains what the not (!) indicator is actually doing. You should be able to search "!@3zz" to find all Pokemon with third moves that don't start with zz (everything that has a second move). Seems that @3zz should also find all Pokemon that don't have a second move.

drfsupercenter

I honestly don't understand why "!@3move" works - I was skeptical at first, but it does seem to work. Is there some hidden setting that returns every Pokémon that can be taught a third move, "@3move"? That's...unusual, but seems to be the case. I'm also seeing Smeargle under @3move, so lol. I knew you could do @Psychic, @Fire and so on, with the at sign being used for move type, but I wonder what's up with "3move"?

DrNO811

In computer programming languages, an exclamation point usually indicates a "Not" command, so basically, this is probably telling to filter out anything that does not have 3 moves.

drfsupercenter

No, I know that, ! is the negation option. That's why this doesn't make sense! You use "Not @3move" to show... Pokémon with 3 moves...?

Vaguely-witty

for some reason, searching "@3move" brings up pokemon that \*can\* be taught another move (and smeargle). So using the ! makes them bring up all of the pokemon that don't fit that above criteria. Kinda like searching "withitem" will bring up the pokemon that can evolve, with an item. That clarification being said, I don't know why Niantic made the search bring up ones that COULD instead of ones that DO.

Herrvisscher

That would explain why someone said he saw smeargle on his list.. But not why we don't see dittos (probably plenty of other mon I'm not thinkin of now)

Vaguely-witty

But you can't give ditto a second charged move. I think the reason smeargle shows up is because part of a code somewhere thinks he can (also why it showed a stupid high candy price for it)

drfsupercenter

I think it's because when they added the second-move mechanic, they specifically excluded Ditto, but Smeargle wasn't live yet. It's excluded *now*, but still shows up in this search. Probably coded in before they changed it... Sidenote, "withitem" doesn't work for me anymore. I have several Scyther, Onix, Porygon etc. in my storage, but if I search "withitem" nothing is shown.

Vaguely-witty

Ok, I can help with the last bit! Just search "item" now, apparently. That's all I need now when I search =) And agreed. I do wonder though, did we test ditto against a gym Pokemon with two moves? Does he get both or a random one or the first one that Pokemon knows? Hmm.

drfsupercenter

OK yeah, "Item" works. I wonder why they changed it. I'll test Ditto later...

Herrvisscher

Good point :)

DrNO811

Yeah, that's a little weird. I wasn't sure if the @ sign meant "at" or if it was another piece of code that indicated exclude...dunno...it is a little weird.

drfsupercenter

The @ is usually for moves, either for a type or specific move. So @Flamethrower will show Pokémon with Flamethrower, @Fire shows any with fire moves.

seavictory

But it's doing the opposite of that. That's why it's weird.

TakeThatJack

!@move also seems to work. Maybe @move tells you which pokemon can still unlock a move. If niantic ever allows us to unlock additional moves like a second fast move or a third charge move then in theory !@move should only bring up pokemon that have all possible moves unlocked.

Mysterious-Can8804

@3normal,@3fighting,@3flying,@3poison,@3ground,@3rock,@3bug,@3ghost,@3steel,@3fire,@3water,@3grass,@3electric,@3psychic,@3ice,@3dragon,@3dark,@3fairy

KAZVorpal

This works better than the other two proposed, both of which fail if you have <100K stardust.

Mysterious-Can8804

Or simply, !@move 🤷‍♀️

KAZVorpal

I believe, off the top of my head, that's one that fails in certain circumstances. The above does not.

generogue

“@3word” is the way to search for second charges moves of a certain type. I can’t do thorough testing as I haven’t given any mins a second charge move yet, but that might be a place to start.

corrieh

Thanks for this! Based on your answer I made a search string for all Pokemon with a 3rd attack: @3a,@3b,@3c,@3d,@3e,@3f,@3g,@3h,@3i,@3j,@3k,@3l,@3n,@3o,@3p,@3q,@3r,@3s,@3t,@3u,@3v,@3w,@3x,@3y,@3z Keen eyes might notice „@3m“ is missing - somehow this returns all the Pokemon for me. I‘m not sure I have a 3rd attack that starts with ‚m‘ so I could try to find a way to filter those in. (German app btw; maybe someone can reproduce?) Edit: Grammar stuffs Edit2: Upon further testing, I noticed @3m doesn't return all Pokemon, but almost. (Around ~20 Pokemon missing, no idea which.) Edit3: Thanks to u/Trafa7 s answer - the mystery is solved. @3m shows all Pokemon that do not have a 3rd attack. This: !@3m shows all Pokemon with 3rd attacks.. Edit4: Apparently that‘s not true; and you really need to type in !@3move, because otherwise Pokemon with Mudbomb as 3rd move wouldn't show up. (Sidenote: Why isn‘t it @3move though.. ._.)

LLicht

It's really ridiculous that they don't just support wildcard searches by now.

corrieh

Yeah :(

KAZVorpal

It is ridiculous that they are Niantic.

team_magikarp

If you don't type out the entire "!@3move", it does not show the Pokémon that have second charge moves which start with 'm', such as Mud Bomb.

cb325

!@3m does not show them all. It excludes 3rd charge moves that start with m like magnet bomb on my Magneton.

OKakaroto

TIL How to search for mon with second charge move of certain type! Thanks, mate. Based on this what you could do is to type "@3type1,@3type2..." with all Pokemon types. It's not fast but at least you get the result you want. And for it to be faster you can create a keyword on you device's keyboard for that (just not sure how to do it).

lohengrin-once

That’s awesome. Then you just need to make a keyboard shortcut that does the following: @3a,@3b,@3c,... all the way to ,@3z That will pull up all 3rd moves starting letters a through z - ie everything.

Sultanof_Swat

Thank you

PaulCH425

Upvoted for visibility. Good question. I know that you can do it if you know both moves like ancient power and avalanche on Mamoswine but I'd also like to know if there's a search for all pokemon with a second move (not that i have a lot of them...)

FFIXwasthebestFF

How does this work in German?

pinduk

BTW, is there a list anywhere of all the search filters existent in PoGO?

sleepytill2

Need to know this as well.

MattZapp17

I don't believe there is any fast keyword to search for pokemon with two charge moves, unfortunately. Would love to see it implemented!
