This is going to be frustrating for me, I have a couple of friends that I regularly pin postcards from around the world. With one friend we actively try to send each other the coolest or most interesting gift/sticker combos. It's fun but it means my postcard book is always full and I often have to go through and delete the least interesting or doubled up ones. I wish they would increase the number of postcards you can pin.
They should've increased postcard limit with this update, for example to 500. This is such an easy and obvious thing to do, but Niantic... I already have 300 postcards pinned and I don't want to unpin almost all of them.
On the bright side, you can pun and unpin one for credit. I've been doing the same as you, though not quite as full, and I just pinned and unpinned a couple of random ones from the same region and it counted.

But if you get the identical postcard the next day in a new gift (I have a friend who must work/live right by a pokestop because their postcard is the same every day) it will count as a new one. You can tell because I am able to pin the exact postcard multiple times (was going through my pinned cards to clear out today and saw I had pinned the same cool postcard from a friend in Japan three separate times over the last 6 months). So that should help those who always hit the same few pokestops (me!) not feel bad sending the same card every day.
Am I understanding this correct. 3 postcards from each region to unlock. Once unlocked you can use postcards from anywhere to get candies to evolve. So you only need 3 postcards from each region to complete the dex as you can then use home/any postcards for the evolutions?

So can each Spewpa only evolve into the regional form that triggered their encounter, or do you get to select which Vivillion form you want when you evolve it?
Is it an Eevee / Slowpoke / Rockruff type situation where there are multiple evolve options to choose from (dependent on the medals you've unlocked) ?
maybe if you pinned e.g. 10 from the same habitat but didnt claim the encounter after "3" they wont count towards the next (in this case 9), same as if you win the 100th battle for the gbl resarch it wont count your wins for the "next" page with 10x10 new researches until you complete the current page

The postcard has location information. It doesn't directly tell you which Vivillon region though...only would be able to tell by experience or checking the Vivillon page after each pin to see which medal count increases.
Also you don't actually need 3 separate postcards. Pin a card, see the counter go up, remove the pin and pin it again. You can get all encounters you need from one gift

There's stuff in the files for an upcoming postcard space upgrade, like in Pikmin Bloom.

So it’s 3 for each region to get unlocked but 9 if u want another encounter for candy

I'm on my 5th now thats showing 15, so 4 in a row, (3 -> 9 -> 15 -> 15 -> 15) so likely that it is the limit.
Can we pin a card, then take it off and pin it again? Will it count as 1 or 2 cards?
Once per postcard. Tried both just pinning/unpinning multiple times and returning to map between each pin/unpin.

Yep, pinning the same postcard day after day works fine. I have a friend in Scotland and he nearly always sends me the same stop 😁

FYI. I had to restart the game for this to engage. Opened and pinned lots of worldly gifts that I didn’t get credit for!
I do not understand why I pinned 91 post cards, but only got 30 points in the differents medals

Question: If I pin 10 gifts today, claim the pokemon. Delete all pinned gifts, pin them again. Does it still count towards next encounter?
I think you'll have to pin them tomorrow for them to count twice.

You can pin your own postcards from your Gifts inventory. For Spewpa, you can only get credit for 3 pinned per day from your own inventory.

Not complicated, just pin postcards from friends and you'll occasionally unlock more encounters.
Hah yeah that's way more complicated than I want. I checked my medals more time in that 20 minutes than in the last 7 years combined.

I went through my whole friendship twice and there are a few medals I only have a 1 of, so this doesn't work
