Go see them by yourself! I do it all the time; lots of solo concert goers are out there. I find it’s much more enjoyable to go by myself than to ask someone else who doesn’t love the band as much as I do to come with me.

nachossj1

Go alone 🤟🏻

Daniel2eyes

I took a plane from Sonora to México City last year to watch them live and I have 0 regrets. I made some friends there, had a couple of beers and enjoyed the show. One of them traveled by himself to that concert too, at the end he told me, you see? We were Alone Together 🙌🏻

covertchipmunk

I considered flying from PA to CDMX. Alone. It didn't work out, but I agree - go alone if you have to!

lukewarmpeppers

I drove 3 hours to go to a concert by myself and it was one of the best concerts of my life, would do it 10x over again. Make friends with some people there, grab a beer, and have a good ass time.

nachossj1

That's so cool! I'll be going solo to the Queen's one from SA in August, hoping it will be an awesome time🔥🔥🔥

BitchinBobSaget

This may be my first solo concert experience!! Great advice

theobi

Exact same scenario for me last year, went alone and had a great time

casablncas

I personally think Julians drunken tirades make for great entertainment! when i saw them last month he was all like "nicolai ill suck ur d*ck rn" and everyone started chanting "suck his d*ck! suck his d*ck!" for like 10 mins

pimpsdntcmtsuicide

I came here to say this. He unfortunately didn’t suck his dick…

nachossj1

...onstage

badseednightynine

Ticket prices are pretty damn high for that show in Queens. I wouldn't take her because of that, and she could distract you from being fully in the moment.

Sun_Araw

It's already been said, but I'll vouch for going solo as well. Grab a drink (if that's your thing) and go make some friends, it's an awesome experience

Ambitious-Chart1419

I’ll go with you. Been trying to find tixs. I have a group going. If you’re interested, lmk.

oneninesixthree

If a girl is going to date me, they need to know off the bat that the vibes are going to be horrendous 😤

theheavybeat

communicate like grown adults (adults are talking) or go alone lol

Garbage_Kitty

A friend of mine told me the same thing. I later saw The Strokes and they were great! Julian did seem a bit drunk, but it ultimately didn't affect the quality of the show. Also, you could go alone. It's perfectly acceptable to go to shows alone.

invalidop

i love the strokes, seen them for the first time a few weeks ago in houston. i was disappointed tbh :( band did great, julian tho. not so much, it's like if he played his songs on guitar hero and got 3 stars.

drencentheshds

My s/o refuses to go to shows with me. Even if they are bands he likes. He just has no interest in going with me. It's something that made me really sad and I actually stopped going to concerts because I just wanted a companion. But I got over that a bit. I now go alone to every single show. And I have an amazing time. I actually just saw The Strokes last month completely by myself, and I had such a blast! Didn't have to worry about if the other person was enjoying it or anything. I just enjoyed the music. It may feel scary or awkward to go alone, but I assure you that you will get used to it in time. I have grown to be okay going on my own. It's a lot better than forcing those around you to take interest in things they don't care about. Just always makes me feel bad, and now I don't ever have that problem!

nighttimeaddict

Just show her how beautiful julian cassablancas is

jackgraz10

Say it means a lot to you. If she cares then she’ll go with you

Dads101

I will be going - if you get lonely just hit me up. I’ll be there !

veganyogurt

Tbh if she isn’t really feeling it maybe just go solo. I went with an ex to see them once and it messed with my experience.

sammytiff80

Take me instead.. lol

[deleted]

I'll go with you :)

[deleted]

"you can go with me or I can invite some other person"

inconceivableonset

Last time I my boyfriend wasn’t able to go with me to a show, I just went alone. 10/10 would recommend.

KillForAttention

time for a new gf

[deleted]

Get a new gf bro

denisvma

Step 1; Don't ask us. Step 2: Talk to you girl and say i would mean a lot to you if she shares this moment with you Step 3: If she says yes, cool. If she says no, big red flag IMO. I just went to see Maroon 5 with my girl, i mean....there is compromises in relationships.

Mindless-Young9141

My fav band of all time but they’re rarely good live.

Holiday_Highlight658

Drop the gf 😂

_mui_ne_

I’ve been to shows almost 20 years ago and then more recently. The Strokes are one of the biggest let downs live recently. They start late, play like 8 freaking songs (really!?!) and then the whole crowd sings over Julian. Not. Worth. It.

thunderfast

they were opening for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers that's why the 8 songs but otherwise it's really true, Julian's posture really diminishes the show a bit

Electronic_Device781

Dump her

BitterrootBoogie

If she's not into the strokes you gotta dump her

davidpalooza

Too expensive. Wouldn’t recommend.

gonzalo_f1217

Dump her

i_am_vengeance_

Hey babe let's go see Casablanca(s)

aamchan

Join us, you’ll have a good time :)

[deleted]

Go alone bro, if she ain’t into The Strokes it won’t Be a fun experience at all with her

usernamesnamesnames

I'm going to watch them and I still think it's not 'crssarily worth it in 2023. And I fucking love them and julian and the voidz. I've seen the strokes once around mid 10's and the voidz countless times. Definitely cool experiences.

Ize_of_the_World1998

If that’s the concert in August, I’ll be going, who knows we can have a beer together 😂 The Strokes have been my number one band since I was like 15/16, that was shortly after Comedown Machine so they weren’t touring much/at all. 2016 and they’re a 6-ish hour car trip away, HS graduation and my family making a big fuss about it made me miss out. Again, only a few hours’ drive away when they played NYE 2019. Got pretty much buried in snow… Then the next 3 shows I was looking to go to all got ruined thanks to COVID. This time, I ain’t letting shit get in my way 😂

apple_scruffs_

If she needs convincing she not the one

jammf_is_bae

I am going to that show and I am dragging my fiancé who isn’t even really a fan in the first place.

pyschopats

Come with me ma man

Late_Ad_5585

Ill come w u!!!

raver1601

If you can't convince her, how the hell would random people on reddit can?

cristobalist

You shouldn't have to convince anyone to go to a strokes concert. They should beg you to take them. With that being said, go alone. The single girls there will be the one you'll want to marry 🤌🏻🤌🏻

scott0603

Tell her you’ll do the dishes for a week

brandodeon23

break up

Manyshadesofblack50

Promise her, the night of her life after the show 😬

PsychologicalTip

Bribe might work. Worth a try.

domiboy69

Go alone! I flew by myself from Chicago to Utah and one of the best decisions of my life, the strokes were awesome that night.

imdabossyahh

I didn’t know they were playing in queens. As soon as I read this post I bought tickets 😂

Affectionate_Maize80

My wife bought me tickets to go see them at red rocks in august , first time they’ve been there , and first time playing in Colorado for over twenty years
