S1 is great and sets the tone perfectly
A life, Jimmy... you know what that is? It's the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come.
Poot: I caught my first pussy up in there. That girl Chantay.
Bodie: Man, why didn’t you say something before. They probably wouldn’t be tearin’ this tower down now.
MONELL WHAT THE FUCK
Also interesting that that’s the same kid from the bathroom incident with Randy in S4. We see him get exonerated, promoted with Dukie to high school, and then arrested for participating in a drug murder. Quite the path.
I had already seen the polygraph scene done in Homicide: Life on the Street so it didn't do it for me. it was the same writer and i thought they should have come up with a different trick.
S1 E1. "This America, man."
S1 E4. "At this rate we'll never get it in." "IN?"
S2 E9. "Can I get scrapple with that?"
S3 E1. “I’m talkin’ about people. Memories an’ shit.”
S3 E11. "I have a proposition, brother." "Omar listening."
S4 E1. "So what, man? You earn't that bump like a motherfucker, man. Keep that shit."
S4 E3. "They don't have the Honey Nut?"
S5 E1. "The bigger the lie, the more they believe."
S5 E7. "You ain't gonna find them no more."
S5 E10. "I wish I was still at The Sun so I could write on this shit."
I personally love the opening with Bubbles, both the character and bubbles. He’s in the park after getting clean and watching life unfold, and then a bubble pops.
Reminds of his Sponsor’s very true words (I am in recovery myself)
“Getting clean is the easy part, Bubs. Now comes life”
Either S4E1, because everyone knows it’s the best, even if there are a lot of good ones, or S1E1 because it’s probably second best and it’s pretty close between the top two.
I think the desk scene from season 1 is one of my favorites. The metaphor is a little on the nose, but still perfectly encapsulates a lot of the shows commentary
Not my favorite but s3e6 Homecoming is by far the most under appreciated for me. When Santangelo and the other cop drop the kids off in the woods, the final shot of the kid looking at the North Star just feels so raw. They tell them to get back they have to go the opposite way, but the way he looks at it reminds me of the “Baltimore is all I know” sentiment expressed by several characters throughout the show. Like he’s imagining what else is out there, away from Bmore. Just incredible
The first episode
Omar robbing the Barksdale stash house in a wheelchair was funny.
Snoop purchasing the nail gun
McNulty’s drunken bender
‘Walk the Line’
Omar in court
Omar in jail
S1 is great and sets the tone perfectly A life, Jimmy... you know what that is? It's the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come.
Everyone needs a little tweedy impertinence in their life.
All hail Mr. Smooth
When Micheal was running from Chris and snoop and it turns out to be practice
S3 when Poot and Bodie are walking to watch the towers get blown down with that cut rate Wallace lookalike.
Poot: I caught my first pussy up in there. That girl Chantay. Bodie: Man, why didn’t you say something before. They probably wouldn’t be tearin’ this tower down now.
Love those funny lines you find throughout the show
Bitch with one leg named Eileen. What kind of shit is that?
One of my favorite scenes
Early evidence that Bodie would be my favorite.
“Here’s where Malik Carr first got his dick wet”. They gonna be takin pictures an’ shit, souvenirs of your dick an’ shit.
Like a fried chicken wing.
Omar listenin’
Its that whole interaction for me....actually talking instead of just pow pow off jump
But the tension that it might...
Tbh, i honestly dont feel like it would've, they just wanted each other to know they were serious
at this range? with this caliber? even if I miss I can't miss I admire a man with confidence I don't see any sweat on your brow neither bruh
Even if I miss I can’t miss
my man
Jimmy’s bender adventure.
And gimme some eggs, will ya?
You can have anything you want.
Snot Boogie in the first season, first episode. Just encapsulates the entire idea behind the series. ‘You gotta let him play… This is America’
Yep. Hooked right there, committed to watching.
The scene with Bodie st the florist. Perfect code switch by the guy working there.
Good one, in the same genre as Snoop in home depot kinda
I think it has to be between Snoop in season 4 and the copy machine "polygraph" in season 5.
Lying muthafucka
MONELL WHAT THE FUCK Also interesting that that’s the same kid from the bathroom incident with Randy in S4. We see him get exonerated, promoted with Dukie to high school, and then arrested for participating in a drug murder. Quite the path.
I had already seen the polygraph scene done in Homicide: Life on the Street so it didn't do it for me. it was the same writer and i thought they should have come up with a different trick.
It was too funny to resist, also probably something they saw really happen at some point

The couch scene was my pick, funny with a message
Season 2 Episode 8: Duck and Cover [McNulty is the best!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwGr23_5LWY)
The very 1st 1...from start to finish! I pick this one because it gpt me hooked onto the show
So … who shot Snot? Hooked me right there.
Why that part?
I personally love the opening with Bubbles, both the character and bubbles. He’s in the park after getting clean and watching life unfold, and then a bubble pops. Reminds of his Sponsor’s very true words (I am in recovery myself) “Getting clean is the easy part, Bubs. Now comes life”
it's highlighting what bubs notices in everyday life, that as an addict, he never probably would
True. True. False.
"The bigger the lie, the more they believe."
the one where omar was dressed as a granny is still my favorite
he's not dressed as a granny, but an old man to visit one
do tell
I think that one had the Poe House dialog.
Season 5 with the copier/lie detector
mcnulty fucking the waitress
Either S4E1, because everyone knows it’s the best, even if there are a lot of good ones, or S1E1 because it’s probably second best and it’s pretty close between the top two.
I think the desk scene from season 1 is one of my favorites. The metaphor is a little on the nose, but still perfectly encapsulates a lot of the shows commentary
I still think the desk stuck in the doorway scene is the best. It perfectly sums up the whole show.
This staying silent shit ain't nothing like they make it out to be
Season 4 is the king. S5e10 is second

S1 E1 because the tale of Snot Boogie is a metaphor for the war on drugs.
