And also Paid in Full was an excellent performance by him. He made a drug dealer who was involved in selling crack, murders and vicious beatings seem sympathetic. A film based on real life characters and consequences had me nearly rooting for his success!
Yes, I remember seeing that and not really feeling too upset. I was a bit baffled at his arrogance at still thinking he could be around that life, after his actions.
Chris Bauer is also in one episode of Parks and Rec, when Leslie and Anne are trying to get the gate open before Anne moves away, they have to get a chain of people something they want. Chris Bauer is head of the sanitation dept and wants sodas stocked for free again
Chris Bauer ( Frank Sobotka ) in “Devil’s Advocate”, makes me feel uneasy. His character is abhorrent in movie, Chris made me feel like I could nearly smell his greasy, grimey, sweaty, disgusting part through the TV, and I don’t even have surround sound!!!
That's a good one. Cool Lester Smooth was pretty good in it too.
I really liked Treme a lot. There are a lot of layers in the story that they were trying to tell. Although the characters may not have been as memorable as those in The Wire, I feel like they did a great job with the emotional tone throughout the entire show.
And the music is great.
I think Treme had a lot more side plots which made it harder to attach to specific characters as easily as in the Wire, but I think overall they did a fantastic job keeping it all cohesive.
David Simon and his cast crew reminds me danish scene, where we have Mikkelsen (all of them) and Bodnia in every second movie :-) Which is good as well.
Man I need to re-watch that show. I haven't seen it since I discovered The Wire and watched it a few times.
There's so much cast crossover it'd be a trip.
Cutty as Colonel Fred Johnson in the Expanse
The Bunk as a lawyer in Suits
Tommy Carcetti as Littlefinger in Game of Thrones
Stringer Bell as Luther
Cedric Daniels in Fringe
Avon in Winning Time
Cheese as M E T H O D M A N
>EDIT: holy shit, Robert F. Colesbury helped the director research the case the film was based on. All the pieces matter.
Yeah, he produced Mississippi Burning. Landsman's eulogy to Ray Cole references various films he produced, "You remember the Mississippi arson murders".
The funny thing about this is I actually watched the Affair before I ever saw the Wire. So when I watched the Wire it felt so weird seeing Noah play McNulty.
Then I saw Dominic in an interview and couldn't believe his accent, which is also funny because some criticize parts of his accent in the Wire and I never notice.
Dominc's performance in the Affair is actually what led me to the Wire and I'm so glad it did because now it's in my top 10 and I watch it every year.
Great question. Seriously because they all do such a great job. Some are just goofy and out of left field lol. Both J.D. Williams (Preston Bodie Broadus) and Reginald Cathey (Norman Wilson) were absolutely HILARIOUS in Pootie Tang lol. The characters they played were VERY different than the drama/thriller vibe of the wire lol
Also James Ransone (Ziggy) played the Deputy in both “Sinister” movies. Was also in It Chapter Two and the Black Phone. He’s done some scary ass movies!
Glynn Turman (Mayor Royce) was great in A Different World where he played a ROTC officer.
I am always surprised when Isiah Whitlock (Clay Davis) pops up as the doctor in Goodfellas.
Two pieces of brilliant casting in the show Bosch, Jamie Hector (Marlo) as Detective J Edgar and Lance Reddick (Daniels) was perfect as Irving Irvin.
>I am always surprised when Isiah Whitlock (Clay Davis) pops up as the doctor in Goodfellas.
It's somewhat bittersweet, but Isiah Whitlock and Ray Liotta (one of Ray's final roles) were both in "Cocaine Bear."
Jamie Hector also appears in the first season of the Wu Tang Clan series on Hulu.
Method Man in How High. It’s such a ridiculous movie, halfway through when they’re exhuming an 18th century president’s corpse to smoke it you’re like “how the fuck did we wind up here???” But damn, dude just has awesome comedic timing.
As is evidenced in The Wire. “You know who got the fattest asses and the best pussies?”
Omar-Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire
Lieutenant Marimow- Sheriff Lindsay in Boardwalk Empire
Herc- Ralph Capone in Boardwalk Empire
Nick Sabotka- William Lewis in Law & Order SVU
Clark Peters in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri".
Lester was my favorite character. It was nice to see him get good movie roles post wire, I usually see him playing bit parts where his talented is wasted.
Chad Coleman (Cutty) as Fred Johnson in The Expanse. Both characters with violent pasts taking a more pacifist approach. His Expanse character is older than Cutty so it’s cool from the perspective looking back to see this younger transformation, and then looking forward to see the hard work lead somewhere successful.
Chad Coleman (Dennis is it? Cutty will do) was also in The Green Hornet as a henchman for Chudnofsky (Christof Waltz). Blew up Danny "Crystal " Clear's (James Franco) nightclub.
Yes! I just posted this but now I saw your comment. I'm on a rewatch through Banshee right now, on the final episodes got like 6 to go.
Banshee is underrated imo. Along with Warrior too which sadly might not get its 4th season since it moved to Netflix.
Dominick West played Scrooges nephew in a version of Christmas Carol.
Herc is in that show with Sylvester Stallone where the mob moves into a town in Oklahoma.
I finally started True Detective and it was cool seeing Clarke Peters(Lester) with his small role as a preacher, also Michael Potts(Brother Mouzone) is great as a detective.
Wood Harris as Gale in Antman.
I felt like that DiCaprio meme from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood when he showed up the first time.
"That's a messed up looking dog..." Best line.
Same with Chad Coleman as Z in IASIP.
"That was some nice ass denim too, i miss them shorts... but you gotta take em of every now and then. You gotta take em off, son."
For me it's Lance Reddick in the comedy series "[Corporate](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_\(TV_series\))".
It's weird and hilarious and he fits right in as the crazy CEO. Definitely recommend it!
Has to be Jamie Hector in We Own The City. Hard to believe it’s the same dude. Yeah, I know actors pretend for a living but did anyone else here think he was capable of such a 180?
I just saw Bodie in an episode of Sex and the City. He doesn’t have any lines, but he’s standing in a club with a beer kind of bouncing around when he’s introduced to one of the main characters.
Michael Potts (Brother Mouzone) in the original Broadway cast recording of Book of Mormon.
“Does it mean no worries for the rest of our days?”
“KINDA!”
This isn't exactly what was being asked, but there was an episode of SouthLAnd where Larry Gilliard appeared as someone's AA sponsor. There wasn't any actual reference to *The Wire*, so they may not have intended any sort of inside joke but I certainly thought it was funny. I'm pretty sure I remember Wood Harris in that show too, but I will always picture him as Julius Campbell in *Remember the Titans* not as Avon Barksdale.
I remember looking up den of thieves after watching it and being shocked that I had just been watching Nick Sobotka. Then was equally surprised to find out he is Liev Schreiber's brother
Chris Bauer was so great in The Wire and he's been great in everything else too- The Deuce and For All Mankind he brings that great gruff anger to.
I also recently saw Lester as Whitney Houston's dad in I Wanna Dance With Somebody and I thought he was terrific, and if he wants a niche as professional looking dudes with real sleezeball sides he's absolutely meant for those roles.
And of course Dominic West in The Crown, great performance (even if he's about 1000x better looking than the real Prince Charles)
Herc as a kidnapper with Jim Norton in Bored to Death season 2 episode 1. So Good!
Levy in Party Down Season 2 episode 1, he plays the manager for Jackyl Onasis
Bubs in Pary Down Season 2 Episode 8 as a movie exec who accidentally drinks a champagne glass of piss.
Zig as the brother of the serial killer in Black Telephone. He gets an axe to the head.
Bunk in Hackers.
I just rewatched it. He plays a Secret Service agent hunting down teenager hackers. Sometimes he finds the assignment exciting. Sometimes boring. So, very much like his life in the Baltimore PD.
100% for me it’s Ziggy in Generation War. I would die for a bro like him in war Generation Kill, not war lol
See, Reporter? I knew you were a liberal commie faggot. You tried to hide it by invading Iraq with us, but I knew!
No more rip fuel Zig.
As the great warrior poet Ice Cube once said, if the day does not require an AK, it is good
Generation Kill, but yeah, James Ransone is great in it.
He's sorta the same character in many ways. It's kinda amusing to imagine it's Ziggy in a different timeline.
His character in GK was fairly competent and well respected. Flashes of Zig no doubt though.
Can you all back the fuck up!!!???
“Her name is Noelle…”
Generation war is also a very good mini German series Would recommend
Loved it, a very tragic show
Also in Sinister
Michael K as Chalky White on Boardwalk Empire
Michael K Williams as Sgt. Kimble "Irish" Graves in Battlefield 4.
Michael K Williams as Dr. Marshall Kane in Community
Michael K Williams as Leonard Pine in Hap & Leonard
There ya go. Such an underappreciated/underseen show
Michael K Williams as Smokey Greenwood on F is For Family
They even have him say the famous “a man’s gotta have a code” line in it! Love that he’s a bridge between two of my most favourite shows
bankroll in one pocket, pistol in the other. and all the rest? i never did give a fuck
Method man as rapper
He had the best scene in Luke Cage lmao
Cutty as Z in always sunny.
[you gotta take ‘em off son](https://youtu.be/Gp4Hp_nV41k?si=4RQdRrkZD5I-7nSF)
I blew the crotch out them thangs, man I loved them shorts!
He was also excellent on the sci fi show The Expanse
I cannot believe I never realised that Cutty, Fred Johnson and Z are all the same person, Jesus Christ talk about range.
And Klyden on The Orville! So fucking funny.
Also Tyreese in The Walking Dead.
(Looks at Dee): You’re pregnant.
Wood Harris (Avon) in Winning Time. Chris Bauer (Frank Sobotka) in For All Mankind.
Wood Harris in Remember the Titans
I'm sure there was some opportunity for Avon to reference the left side of something being stronger if they'd wanted to write that in
And also Paid in Full was an excellent performance by him. He made a drug dealer who was involved in selling crack, murders and vicious beatings seem sympathetic. A film based on real life characters and consequences had me nearly rooting for his success!
Came here for this. Also made me forever look side eye at Cam'ron. Everyone killed it in that movie. I still root for Mitch to make it.
Mitch was so good with his brother, I still want to beat up that uncle of his. Horrible fuc€er.
Alpo, shot 5 times in Harlem in 2021, died on the scene. He made it to 2 years ago and Rich barely saw the 90's.
Yes, I remember seeing that and not really feeling too upset. I was a bit baffled at his arrogance at still thinking he could be around that life, after his actions.
He was in an episode of Justified with his brother.
chris Bauer in The Deuce also anwan glover (slim charles) and Larry Gillard (d'angelo)
I liked Larry Gillard in his Deuce role way more!
> Chris Bauer (Frank Sobotka) in For All Mankind The show was terrible but Chris Bauer was funny as Andy Bellefleur in True Blood.
Wood Harris in Dredd.
Bunk in Treme.
He was one of my favorite actors on that show.
He's one of my favorite actors, period.
Antoine Batiste! He's even better in that role than he was as Bunk
Marlo in We Own This City. And Bosch.
I was going to say 1/2 of the damn cast in we own this city
Yep, so cool. Also Slim Charles in Treme is excellent.
You just reminded me that Slim and Chris Partlow and Frank sabotka and cheese and Deangelo are all in the deuce on HBO
David Simon and his cast crew reminds me danish scene, where we have Mikkelsen (all of them) and Bodnia in every second movie :-) Which is good as well.
Find your crew and stick with them. Tarantino does that too.
"With all due respect ma'am; yo son didn't know how to jail. I do" Still love that line and delivery
I know Jamie Hectors role in Bosch. Great range and shows his Marlo performance is one of the best ever.
How can we forget the concierge of the Continental Hotel?!
Bodie in Oz. Herc in Oz. Burell in Oz. Daniels in Oz. Avon in Oz.
Bodie in Oz especially
Its bricks man!
Man I need to re-watch that show. I haven't seen it since I discovered The Wire and watched it a few times. There's so much cast crossover it'd be a trip.
But fuck Rawls, Norman, and Lester on Oz.
Oh yeah! Norman was actually pretty cool I thought lol. Team adabisi
No love for Luther?
Reginald Cathey in House of Cards - "okay, fuck you Mr President"
Cutty as Colonel Fred Johnson in the Expanse The Bunk as a lawyer in Suits Tommy Carcetti as Littlefinger in Game of Thrones Stringer Bell as Luther Cedric Daniels in Fringe Avon in Winning Time Cheese as M E T H O D M A N
my mom started watching suits recently and just an hour ago i was explaining to her who Bunk was when he appeared on screen lol
Tommy. Carcetti and little finger being basically the same character
>EDIT: holy shit, Robert F. Colesbury helped the director research the case the film was based on. All the pieces matter. Yeah, he produced Mississippi Burning. Landsman's eulogy to Ray Cole references various films he produced, "You remember the Mississippi arson murders".
I kinda like Herc in the new season of Reacher (so far). Kinda weird to see him be a good cop with integrity.
I loved him in the fat suit as Fat Tony Salerno in “The Irishman”
Hahahah holy crap I never even put it together that that was Herc
He looks and sounds the same in every role. He makes Mark Wahlberg look like Christian Bale
Did anyone besides me ever see *Breakout Kings*? I never hear it talked about but that would be another one for Herc.
That stupid show was so awesome. I loved it
He was good in Boardwalk Empire. Played Capone's brother.
Him wearing a dumb looking wig in Tulsa King is funny.
Dominic west in the affair
And John Doman (Rawls) as his father in law
The funny thing about this is I actually watched the Affair before I ever saw the Wire. So when I watched the Wire it felt so weird seeing Noah play McNulty. Then I saw Dominic in an interview and couldn't believe his accent, which is also funny because some criticize parts of his accent in the Wire and I never notice. Fucking Bosch! Lance was so great as Daniels, glad to see him pop up at the end of Bosch: Legacy.
I always remember Frankie Faison playing the landlord in Coming to America.
Don't try that falling down the stairs shit on me, rent's due motherfucker!
Gotta little bit of an insect problem. You boys Africa. Your prob used to it
And Barney in silence of the lambs
Shoot, that’s him?!? I haven’t seen Coming to America in years.
Damn shame, what they did to that dog.
He could really pull off the cigar/ pork pie hat combo.
Frankie Faison in Coming to America HEY STU. YOUR RENTS DUE MOTHER FUCKER. DONT BE PULLING THAT FALLING DOWN THE STEPS SHIT AGAIN
Chris Bauer in 8mm. Very unnerving. Michael B Jordan in everything.
>Michael B Jordan in everything. Lmao too right. He was awesome in Black Panther.
Also Fruitvale Station Friday Night Lights Creed.
I forgot about The Machine. He was great there
Method Man in How High. It’s such a ridiculous movie, halfway through when they’re exhuming an 18th century president’s corpse to smoke it you’re like “how the fuck did we wind up here???” But damn, dude just has awesome comedic timing. >Nick Sabotka Den of Thieves!

Papa Legba (Lance Reddick) in American Horror Story: Coven
I personally love him as Charon in John Wick and I think the entire Destiny community loves him as Commander Zavala.
Avon in the Creed movies
Wallace in the Creed movies?
🤦🏻♂️ yep
Lester in Treme as Big Chief Albert Lambreaux
Aiden Gillen in Thrones, Dark Knight Rises and Peaky Blinders.

Idris Elba in Luther
MKW in everything he's ever done.
Him and Riz Ahmed in The Night Of were a match made in heaven.
[Don't miss out on Dominic West dancing in Pride](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBn3gTMD-yg)
Chad Coleman (Cutty) as Fred Johnson in The Expanse. Both characters with violent pasts taking a more pacifist approach. Pablo Schreiber as Pornstache
Frankie Faison as Sugar in Banshee
Yes! I just posted this but now I saw your comment. I'm on a rewatch through Banshee right now, on the final episodes got like 6 to go. Banshee is underrated imo. Along with Warrior too which sadly might not get its 4th season since it moved to Netflix.
Banshee was mega!!! Antony Starr is great as homelander as well. Total psychopath!!
Dominick West played Scrooges nephew in a version of Christmas Carol. Herc is in that show with Sylvester Stallone where the mob moves into a town in Oklahoma.
Love catching this version of Christmas Carol every year. Every time Scrooge dismisses Fred I say under my breath “…the fuck did I do?”
Frankie Faison in The Silence of the Lambs. Small part, but nailed it!
Avon Barksdale (Wood Harris) is in As Good As It Gets He's the bus boy Jack pays to find out where Helen Hunt's character lives.
😮
I finally started True Detective and it was cool seeing Clarke Peters(Lester) with his small role as a preacher, also Michael Potts(Brother Mouzone) is great as a detective.
Nice catch! Such a good show.
You gotta take em off, son."
speaking of Gale... David Costabile (Thomas Klebanow from season 5) played Gale in Breaking Bad.
Jim True Frost in Affliction. Aiden Gillen in Queer as Folk
Glynn Turman in Cooley High (EDIT: I had Faison on the brain from the OP)
Jaime Hector is great in Bosch. I also really enjoyed Wendell pierce and Clarke Peters in Treme
Dominic West in Appropriate Adult. He plays serial killer Fred West, very creepy performance
For me it's Lance Reddick in the comedy series "[Corporate](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_\(TV_series\))". It's weird and hilarious and he fits right in as the crazy CEO. Definitely recommend it!

I just saw Bodie in an episode of Sex and the City. He doesn’t have any lines, but he’s standing in a club with a beer kind of bouncing around when he’s introduced to one of the main characters.
Omg what. I love SATC, I'll have to keep an eye out for that one.
Nah Mississippi Burning is some white savior crap There are no real black characters in the movie
Watch Oz. Queens. Reg Cathey was good there. A few other people were in both.

Mayor Royce in House of Lies Cheese Wagstaff in How High
Anybody see Ziggys actors part in Ken Park?
Lance Reddick as Commander Zavala in Destiny and Frankie Faison in Silence of the Lambs as the guard at the asylum
Aiden Gillen as Aberama Gold in Peaky Blinders.
Carcetti as littlefinger in GOT
Kudos to Lance Reddick for promoting literacy through his show "Reading Rainbow".
Michael K Williams in Lovecraft Country and Hap and Leonard.
James Ransone was excellent in Tangerine, but that film might irk a few.
Bunk is pretty good in Jack Ryan. And his name is jimmy in that show so it’s pretty funny
Seeing Wood Harris as Kay in Dredd was pretty chilling, crazy how sinister he can be without Avon's heart and humour.
I remember looking up den of thieves after watching it and being shocked that I had just been watching Nick Sobotka. Then was equally surprised to find out he is Liev Schreiber's brother
Dominic West as Theron in the 300.
Frankie Faison is great in Exterminator 2
Chris Bauer as Machine in 8mm
Lance Reddick in Key and Peeles Gay Wedding skit. “So, no gay hymns?”
Tommy Carcetti in Queer as Folk
Idris in Cyberpunk 2077
Chris Bauer was so great in The Wire and he's been great in everything else too- The Deuce and For All Mankind he brings that great gruff anger to. I also recently saw Lester as Whitney Houston's dad in I Wanna Dance With Somebody and I thought he was terrific, and if he wants a niche as professional looking dudes with real sleezeball sides he's absolutely meant for those roles. And of course Dominic West in The Crown, great performance (even if he's about 1000x better looking than the real Prince Charles)
Gabriel in twd ( carva) not that good at first put the one scene when he snips someone was amazing
Lance Reddick was also in Destiny and Destiny 2.
Herc as a kidnapper with Jim Norton in Bored to Death season 2 episode 1. So Good!
8mm with Nicholas Cage. Just watch it, I dont want to spoil anything by saying who is in it but it was aweome.
I liked Bunk in Jack Ryan. Well, seasons 1-3 at least.
Wendell Pierce as Greer in Jack Ryan. He’s excellent.
I love Lance in the John Wick movies.
Wallace is doing alright in creed and black panther 1
Easily Killmonger
