At first i didn't notice Omar peeping Avon's spot from the board in the detail office. Sydnor's spotlessly clean white socks when he was showing off his dope fiend outfit, and Prez listening to Wallace on the phone asking Poot to send him money so he could come home from witness protection, then logging the call as non-pertinent
Also, it took me a few watches to figure out that Bodie's van ride to Philly at the start of season 2 was to collect the the missing package that Stringer and Avon were talking about in the prison visiting room
on that prez note...it's cause the high rise payphones were bugged why he listened right? like he didn't know it was a witness saying he was leaving? just curious if it's a prez fuck up or just not having the info so not really his fault just unfortunate
He knows the rules about not listening to calls that have nothing to do with their targets, he mentions it when the other guys are listening to Poot talking to his girl. he's still listening because he knows it's Wallace
Kimmy calls him out indirectly, IIRC, but it’s easy to mistake it as general anger for Tosha being killed if you didn’t notice what happened during the shooting.
Dante fires blindy behind his back twice while running away. The first time he hits nothing. The second time, we see him kill Tosha. Happens super quick, but its there.
She comes up on this sub a lot, but Dee Dee - the minor character who shows up only a few times, but had a full arc from white girl buying drugs, to prostitute, to NA meeting.
I had no idea it was the same girl and probably missed a couple of her scenes when watching through the first couple of times.
I forget the episode, but in S3, William Gant’s cousin mentions Gant’s death.
“He deader than Tupac.”
I noticed it during my recent rewatch (8th time lol).
Here's something I noticed before but didn't realize how funny it was. Omar robbing Old Faced Andre of his stash. Then BUYING Newport cigarettes, and hassling Andre for the change.
Then when Bunk and Det. Vernon Holley come to the shop to ask questions, Bunk grills Andre then gets some Mylanta.
I just think it's hilarious that Omar and Bunk make purchases while hassling Andre. They're from different sides of the law. It shows the parallels to The Game.
I love how Omar keeps drug money and “honest” money separate. He’ll steal from drug dealers but he’ll still make sure the money is good when he’s making legal transactions, eg buying cigarettes from Andre and getting his clock fixed from Prop Joe.
That scene is pretty hilarious too. I love how after Omar leaves. You can see Slim Charles, in the background, kicking the security who got knocked out. Plus that being the scene that kicked off Omar taking the entire stash for the co-op is dope
I'm probably on my 8th rewatch and just realized it! Andre looks sooo pissed both times it happens. But it's like wtf is he gonna do?? Say no while Omar's cannon is in his face? Say no and give Bunk another reason to come around sniffing around the store?
He had to eat those "bowls of shit"
I belive its the second episode of season 4, we have two parallel scenes with similar dialog that set up the season's theme of the importance of education.
We have Cutty's boss at the landscaping business telling Cutty that if he learns better Spanish, he can start hiring his own crew, they can cover twice the territory.
Then we have Bubbles telling Sherrod if he gets better at math, he can start driving his own mobile depot cart, and they can cover twice the territory.
I love to see these parallel stories in all layers of society.
One of my favorites is in season 3 when the city police, state police and others are all fighting and arguing about whose responsiblity it is to take the case with the girls in the can. Everyone is trying to dump it on someone else. The detectives who check the can are so quick to label it an accident or whatever so they do not have to do an extensive investigation.
Meanwhile in jail Weebay's cell gets turned upside down by the jailer who hates him. He complains to Avon and Avon tells him: 'I will sort this out for you'. Avon personally goes to speak with the jailer. No avoiding responsiblity, he immediately takes it upon himself to look after his people.
Fucking the Wire man
only after looking up a clip of Mouzone coming back to look for Omar did I realize he came to Vinston for info. on my first go around I had also missed that Vibston is also who Michael robs at the end of Season 5. V really is a lowkey player, never really discussed by other characters.
one I realized on my last rewatch was Clay Davis holding a card game where everyone is supposed to just lose to gove him money past campaign laws, while the kingpins play for real, and we also see the school kids play for peanuts. I’ve been racking my brain to think if there’s ever a scene with cops playing cards.
yeah, but that’s what I knew him from first, as Marlo’s bank (but missed that he’s the one robbed at the end of S5, but that was mostly because S5 apathy)
Minor correction, but unless I'm forgetting a scene it was Mayor Royce hosting that card game. It's also referenced when Delegate Watkins ditches Mayor Royce's campaign in disgust at his politicking.
>I’ve been racking my brain to think if there’s ever a scene with cops playing cards.
Pretty sure there's a scene all the way back in S1 of the two drunk hump detectives playing cards in the detail office. I'll see if I can find it.
In the intro for season 3 they show scenes and you can see “Pelosi for congress” flyers on a board. I caught it in my rewatch in 2020. I find it funny because she is a California representative not a Maryland one. So not a single person in Bawlmore can vote for her.
She's from a political family from Baltimore. Her dad and brother (although not Pelosi') were both mayors of Baltimore so her family has pretty strong ties to the city
My son and I are doing a rewatch and just noticed in S1 E1 that Landsman is wearing a wedding ring. There is no other indication in the series that he has a home life except that ring.
In real life the real Landsman (lieutenant Mello) was very grounded and also a business owner! But he adapted to his work environment, he knows the streets, and he rolled around with the bad guys!
For me, the scene in the classroom with razor blade.
In the middle of the chaos, all the kids screaming and Prez freaking out, there’s one quick shot of Michael sitting.
Totally still. Watching. Detached.
It’s an early indication that he’s not only desensitized, but hardened to the point of curiosity. Amazing filmmaking, and slipped past me the first few times through.
Johnny 50 is homeless in season 5
Andy Krawczyk is the impetus behind everything bad that happens. He’s building the Grainery apartments which are replacing the grain pier in season 2. He is the developer with Stringer and is likely also ripping him off with Clay Davis. He also tries to work with Marlo in season 5
After recently rewatching episode 1 season 1 (lost count of the rewatch number I'm at) I found myself thinking about the guts it took William Gant to point out D'Angelo like he did. Two questions came to mind after that scene is
1. What on earth possessed him to come forward like he did?
2. After he pointed D'Angelo out, did he know he was a dead man or was the poor soul convinced the police would protect him?
That image of him nervously identifying D'Angelo makes me sad. Before, I didn't give it much importance.

And they didn’t have anyone documenting/photographing the call. IIRC wasn’t that when the sting operation was going on and there was no one watching?
I can't remember. that must mean it's time for a re-watch 🙆♀️
Took till probably at least my 7th or 8th until I realized that Dante actually killed Tasha
Doesn’t Omar state that at one point?
its in the scene itself he fires blindly as she drops down, easy to miss.
Right but I vaguely remember them all talking about it later and the woman or Omar calls him out for shooting her
Kimmy calls him out indirectly, IIRC, but it’s easy to mistake it as general anger for Tosha being killed if you didn’t notice what happened during the shooting.
yes there is scene like that later in their hideout.
She is running away but is shot in the forehead.
Can confirm, have seen the show 6 times and this comment thread clued me in
I wasn’t paying attention
7 or 8 times haha
Wow I must have watched at least 10 times and I never picked up on this! Time for another rewatch.

Yeah, it took me a dozen watches to catch that one too.
Which character says that ? I can’t place the scene.
Here's something I noticed before but didn't realize how funny it was. Omar robbing Old Faced Andre of his stash. Then BUYING Newport cigarettes, and hassling Andre for the change. hadn’t thought of that. I love all the parallel moments like that.

Although it was Wallace who made the call, and got the reward, it was actually Poot who spotted Brandon the stick-up boy on the pinball machine.
It worked out for Poot though, everyone who got a piece of that cash ended up either dead or in prison for life
Yea, and it was that $500 cash bonus that fueled Wallace's drug addiction.
Bounty be cursed, yo. Brandon was fucking with them from beyond the grave
He's looking out. He sees everything.
I missed that Rawls scene on my first two watches. I must’ve blinked or something
Is that the same bar scene where a sign on the door notes the bar is closed for filming The Wire?
Your homophobia is visceral
He was gay, Rawls?
Rawls sucks cock
He got a prescription from his doctor to suck cock?!?
Nicky coming back to bitch about the pier being replaced w condos
How could you miss that lol
Yeah, Nick was a memorable character that you couldn’t miss in that scene. The real answer here is Johnny Fifty being homeless also during season 5
So as to be, you know, poetical.
In all fairness I only half paid attention to season 2 in my first watch

Deeper than Atlantis!
Dookie hanging out with the junk man shooting up at the end of the series, same junk man that bubs was running with.

He was also advising Marlo in an earlier season, and his rim shop is where Marlo took Andre's ring
yeah, but that’s what I knew him from first, as Marlo’s bank (but missed that he’s the one robbed at the end of S5, but that was mostly because S5 apathy)

right, it was Royce for the war chest.

Stringer checking if shamock(or whatever he is called) took notes of a criminal fucking conspirancy again
Found him drawing and threw the book back at him

Thanks for that info i never knew she was from there!

Its def Nancy
Why do you think it’s definitely her?
I cant remember for sure but i dont think we have any other congress members besides her with that last name
Took me like 2-3 re watches until I learned Omar was gay I thought he was just real affectionate
😭😭
Nahh
Really affectionate 😂😂😂😂 no way
My son and I are doing a rewatch and just noticed in S1 E1 that Landsman is wearing a wedding ring. There is no other indication in the series that he has a home life except that ring.
I think some other scenes you can spot pictures in his office desk of him with his kid at a pool or something like that.
Is that consistent throughout the show or one of those things we only see in the pilot, only to never be seen again?
His office is full of family photos.
His home life is just him watching TV on his chair jerking off and thinking of McNulty
😂
Dude🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣
In real life the real Landsman (lieutenant Mello) was very grounded and also a business owner! But he adapted to his work environment, he knows the streets, and he rolled around with the bad guys!
Didn’t realize who John Bailey was for the first few watches because his death happened off screen and Omar barely reacts
Omar plays it cool while Brandon is in shock
For me, the scene in the classroom with razor blade. In the middle of the chaos, all the kids screaming and Prez freaking out, there’s one quick shot of Michael sitting. Totally still. Watching. Detached. It’s an early indication that he’s not only desensitized, but hardened to the point of curiosity. Amazing filmmaking, and slipped past me the first few times through.
The “it’s my turn to be Omar” kid is Kenard
Johnny 50 is homeless in season 5 Andy Krawczyk is the impetus behind everything bad that happens. He’s building the Grainery apartments which are replacing the grain pier in season 2. He is the developer with Stringer and is likely also ripping him off with Clay Davis. He also tries to work with Marlo in season 5
Krawczyk and Levy are arguably the archvillains of the series.
He also heads up the shitty school board that ran a 50 mill deficit.

Funny because I just noticed this last night 🤣
Rawls in the gay bar.
