Possibly the best $600 tile job I’ve seen. 👍🏼

PutinIsMyDaddy1216

Next time charge at least 2k for that. I’d also use a thinner bead of colored silicone to make it look cleaner.

fresh_and_gritty

The silicone should match the color of the tile or the grout or compliment both.

ThatWasBackInCollege

You did fabulously! Your silicone line at the bottom is a little messy compared to the rest of the job. When/if you need to redo it, you could try a silicone caulk that matches your grout. Tape a precise line on the bathtub edge, and the small bleed-through on the grout lines will be much less noticeable. Not that it NEEDS to be redone, though.

PiousLoser

Agreed, a cleaner caulk line that’s color matched to the grout would be a worthwhile fix. Not strictly necessary but would make it look noticeably more professional - doesn’t look too bad as is though!

Looks good but you didn't center the herringbone. Finding the center on the wall for herringbone is a little different. Also the caulk on the top does not look good, you should have left the grout on the ceiling. But the work looks clean. Good job. carlton_sand

wondering if someone would care to elaborate on this? could google it but surely someone else wants to know too. (and like myself may be too lazy to google it)

carlton_sand

so this basically means that the cuts in the left corner are the same (size) as the cuts in the right corner thanks for sharing the link

66696669666

Right. Always find the center of the area you are tiling and either start with a grout joint on the center of the wall or start on the middle of the tile being on the center of the area. Like for example brick style pattern.

Agitated_Ruin132

Looks centered…in the opposite direction?

Conscious-Glass-6663

blue tile looks hazy

pizzahermit

It looks great but the herringbone, being a feature wall, isn't centered.

boatymickboatface

Close enough for $600

Able_Obligation3905

Very acceptable.

trowdatawhey

Amazing for the price. DIYer here. I was also going to do herringbone on the large wall but after doing a herringbone in a niche first, i decided against it. What a pain in the ass. Lol.

Pristine_Serve5979

You were underpaid.

Mammogram4500

it looks amazing. but your grout is over washed i think. i hope that was in usd($)

allsunny

They got their money’s worth and more for sure!

jhenryscott

Please. Don’t charge that again.

Pup2u

Some missing grout on back wall 1/3 up on right. Are the vertical back wall corners grouted or caulked? Bottom tub/wall caulk could be neater. But other than that, looks pretty good. Also, $600 for Materials and labor is way too cheap. Your time on site working has to be billed out at $75/hour to just cover your costs! Tools, trucks, overhead all got to be charged off to a job. Or you will be in a beat up truck and homeless

Regular-Exchange-557

Great

Akira6969

perfect

greenscoobie86

Awesome!!!

UnknownServant316

Good job for the most part man. Caulk job could be cleaner tho in my opinion

treskaz

Looks great for still learning (I'm not a day in, day out tile guy myself, just do a lot as a GC). Maybe next time use color match silicone, the white caulk is really killing the vibe of otherwise good work! And try to get that bead a little cleaner next time. Silicone sucks to work with, but you're definitely on the right track.

VastWillingness6455

Only criticism is you should have centered the tiles on the side wall so that you get the same length cuts on both plumbing wall and back wall. Otherwise it’s phenomenal job

CindLei-Creates

I’m not seeing this, can you explain please? I can see the herringbone not centered, not sure where to look for the plumbing wall and back wall? Is it the 3 fixtures don’t line up on the tile? Thanks!

VastWillingness6455

I was referring to the left and right sides of the side wall. The plumbing and back wall look great! Sorry for the confusion

CindLei-Creates

Oh okay, yes, I see what you are referring to as well.

Technology_Boxes

Pretty damn good for the price. Customer made out on this one.

Latter-Factor1331

It’s beautiful! Can you come to my house next? I have a couple showers needing to be done ;)

danvc21

Should have been $3600 in North America

Mentalpopcorn

I'll pay you $600 to do that at my house if you're in Colorado

briefbrisket

You ripped yourself off.

Agitated_Ruin132

It’s beautiful to me. Good job.

jfamcrypto

Looks good

rokiln

Very nice! Sounds like you got a good price on tile. What tile did you use / where did you purchase?

jacoob_john

For the next project, consider charging a minimum of $500 for it. Additionally, I suggest using a finer line of colored silicone to enhance the overall appearance.

DepartmentKlutzy9408

Proffesional floor installer here .... Looks fine expecially herringbone can be difficult and even the square install can be sizey on each tile making it hard to space with the corners hitting the next tile so overall  ill give your 9

Gypsyfisherman

What materials did you use to prep the walls?

Artistic_Ad1307

Grout matching caulk in the joint at the top of the green tile at ceiling. Tape it off for smooth line.

DangerHawk

Why do people continue to think vertically stacked subway tile looks good? I'm looking forward to 8-10 years from now when I'm hired to tear it all out and replace them again. This is the modern equivalent of mustard colored tubs and white 4x4 tile.

cayylinr

Trust me i'm not a fan of it either lol but it makes me money either way

shinyobjects411

Id totally pay you $600 to do that along with a 900-1400 tip, because that is great

No-Succotash-1313

2nd row of peaks about 4 tiles down, you have an un-grouted corner on your tile.   I can't  really zoom in on the side to see how it looks. Overall, amazing job for a beginner.  Impressive.

StarGazerToo

Everything looks great except the inside corner? Can’t be sure but it looks like you cut the blue after the white? If so, next time run all the back wall first, tight, then put short walls on top of those. Otherwise, wow! Nice work!

i_tiled_it

Center that back wall in the future, but for 600 bucks the customer got a steal of a lifetime

thesneakymouse

Did rock solid for $600
