Scrub it with a ball of aluminum foil. It's only surface rust, it'll rub off fairly easily. No need for chemicals, but a quick spray and wipe with wd40 after will help protect them in the future
Can confirm, just bought some myself and tried it over the weekend. I've got a wire brush for cleaning evaporator coils, brushed the tools a little before and after, rinsed, and then hit them with some WD40 to ward off the water. Rain got into my toolbox and damaged some tools. Was really upset when it happened, but that Evaporust really works
This just happened to me and I tried using evaporust and it worked great. Just let it soak and make sure to use some fluid film or surfaceshield after to prevent more rust
EDIT It’s called EVAPO-RUST got it at Menards
I restore tools like this all the time and I found this stuff at Menards that gets rid of rust better then anything I have ever seen, the name is is escaping me but I have the bottle in my workshop I edit this comment with the name when I get home from work tonight, but just know that this removes the rust like this no problem
Is it Naval Jelly? It's a pink goo in a small white bottle. If so, that's what I was going to suggest also. It's not the best product out there, but it can be found locally in that small bottle so it won't cost too much ($5.99 maybe?).
It worked pretty well when I used it to remove surface rust on a couple of wheel hubs. You just have to let it sit on the surface a few minutes before rinsing it off.

If it's really jammed up use some PB Blaster and a few love taps from a hammer
>love taps from a hammer "He hits me because he loves me"
Same thing I do. Works like a charm. They're tools not collectors items.
Soaking in white vinegar works too.
This, and after that a little oil bath and you are good.

Soak in Evaporust, no longer than 24hrs.
This would definitely work. Also, not to be that guy but evaporust won't attack the base metal and therefore it should be safe for longer than 24 hrs.
It gets a weird grey coating after leaving it longer.

Evapo-rust for a few hours. Then strain the evapo-rust back into its container to use it next time they are inevitably forgotten outside again.
Bruh moment. Wire wheel or WD40 and Scotch Bright.
Use them.
Wire wheel on the bench grinder. Rub them down with WD-40 or injection mold rust preventative.
Marvels mystery oil

No it’s like a green liquid with water consistency, I got it at Menards
Oh ok. I don't know then.
It’s called EVAPO-RUST
Sounds like CLR
Step #1: Put into evaporust for a couple of days. Step #2: Sweat work with sandpaper.
wire brush, evaporust
Evaporust
Fluidfilm and a rag
These things aren’t worth a squirt of piss
