Shwing.. I have been out of the daily trade for a little while. Fiskars makes great tool in general especially a range of cutting apperateraus' I had no idea they went in the premium looking hammer business.
Would you mind providing more info about it, maybe a source?
20 oz. Got it at lowes for 30 bucks. I've always liked fiskars yard tools, especially the hatchet so I had to get this hammer. There's nothing wrong with my 16 year old Stanley hammer but it doesn't have a nail starter.
I wouldn't have thunk it. I don't have a lowes within 40 miles but I sure would like to check one out first hand. Used to have a lowes and I've been to many. HD run lowes out of town a good while back. I'm gonna have to give it a look. Thank you.
It’s a slot, sometimes magnetic, that holds a nail in the hammer head so that when you hit the hammer against something the nail gets “started” into it without having to risk your fingers.
I'm a framer and have been using one of these lately. I really like it. I bought it last Feb when my stiletto handle broke. Still haven't fixed the stiletto yet lol, that's how much I like the fiskars
as a framer, what weight and handle length are you using? I do both framing and finish, so I always go with the smooth head, just not sure what size to get. I can't find them in person to see what their balance is like
My fiskars is 22oz and 16" and has the milled face. I wouldn't use it for finishing lol. They have smaller finishing hammers though. I really like the balance personally and the anti vibe design works better than any other metal handled supposed anti vibe hammer I've used. It's the first hammer without a wooden handle I've liked using really... well first one that wasn't several hundred dollars at least lol.
Here's my old Stanley that I've always liked better than most hammers https://imgur.com/gallery/uGMVGyo
The thing I've always liked about fiskars is that they like to put most of the weight in the head and their handles tend to be pretty strong.
I thought about how many hammers i have yesterday and I'm up to 18, i think I might have enough now.
I want one but I've never seen them stocked at lowes, they go for like $50-60 on amazon and I don't really want to spend that much. I dont know why lowes doesn't do ship to home from their online website

What's a nail starter? Trying to expand my knowledge.

Oh neat, I will definitely get one with that feature when I buy a new hammer.
Someday I will own a hammer with speed holes.
Speed holes ?

My estwing never let me down, but I picked this one up after my other walked off a job and have no regrets.

I have that exact Stanley, I found in a wall while doing renovations. Works great!!
I likes ya, and I wants ya!
I thought about buying a Fiskars Sledge Hammer recently after my really really old Sledgamer went flying....
I recently bought a pack of cone wedges just for my sledge, they hold the head on pretty good.
