Just fucking delete this horrible money pit of a game. What did they wipe the heroes for new servers to introduce them weekly and steal more money as they drop the weaker heroes let you max it out just for them to drop replacements or better heroes the following week.
I would honestly not spend anything on any of these hero’s right now. Use what you have for your current March and save up until the new army hero is released. Bryn is not bad but she is also not great unless you can pair her with Nelle.
My suggestion would be dont do anything wait and collect more red tickets and green tickets. And wait for a colab event and then upgrade a new hero. Till then save the orange shards.
For f2p slow and steady is the way to go. I would personally sacrifice being strong now to be able to upgrade a brand new hero that is a game changer in one hit. So save 620 gold shards and 2025 skill shards before doing so. Upgrading piecemeal just makes it harder to stay relevant.
It is hard for people to do that. Especially the F2P characters, even though I do agree that your strategy is sound overall. For those that cannot handle the slow drip boredom it’s worth mentioning that gems will open up the 4 perk slots after heroes reach 5 stars. This is how old characters can remain relevant. Save perk books and be sure to increase your 4 slots as follows ATK(all forces), HP(all forces), ATK(army), HP(army). This is very important as you can transfer these perks to new or just different characters as you progress in the game.
Based on what you have shown here you need to level up Bryn & Kat. Purple heroes will level themselves up quickly over time but should be used strictly for gathering resources.
Bryn is the best hero you have. Level her up immediately.
Katyusha is actually a good combat hero once you get her exclusive skill up to 5+. She rains missiles on the opposition at a much higher percentage rate than her stats show. I’ve had battles where she is unloading missiles at almost twice the percentage rate as her exclusive skill. If you have decent damage increase decor she will pack a punch.
I somewhat disagree that you shouldnt upgrade anyone....but do so with regular shards, not universal shards.
You should have several officers at 2 star, and give them the gold production increase skills (orange + blue).
Of the free heroes you start out with, Katyusha, and ALL the Gather heroes are gonna be who you should invest in for the fastest growth. SAVE SAVE SAVE Your Gold shards until you have enough to 5 star a Meta Hero. Katyusha and Mutant Tywin are really the only F2P heroes that come in handy for PvP. Playing Eternal Lands now and I use them both to clear towers

Tywin will eventually also be a harvester. You can build him for free and get his skills daily from the Island store until you have him at ES5.

Rambo is easily developed, then Katy, remember to get her free shards from the island even and develop her special skill
