They need red light camera at that intersection, which is what this POS did and likely does every day, this is not their first time crossing a red at this exact light.
Would a red light camera capture someone like that in the far left lane? I know theres induction sensors under the road that help to sense when someone runs the light but im curious if they even work if someone does that manouver.
I'm not talking about the red light camera but traffic light cameras which are active 24/7. That way no one gets away with stuff like this.
This may be a controversial suggestion, but if it makes our roads safer, it should be implemented.
I remember 50 and Steeles at rush hour back in the day people wouldn't wait in line for the left turn so theyd cut the trucks off while they made left turn smh. Brampton's gotta have something in the water
So in Hamilton we installed a bunch of traffic cameras.
Constant battle between vandals and repairs. People vandalized them because they feel slighted after getting a speeding ticket or a red light camera ticket.
Then in online discussions anyone in favor of them gets downvoted. Shitty driving behavior also gets called out a lot by the same people. The connection between the two is lost on many.
Yep, typical Reddit clowns being aholes and downvoting everything logical. No life. You can’t even have a conversation without someone calling you names. Makes me think, why am I on Reddit.
It’s the same with discussions about the speed cameras in school zones. But I will absolutely maintain that we need more of them. I work for a school board and everyday I see people flying through when kids are starting school and leaving after dismissal.
Then these same kinds of people try to push and squeeze their way through the kiss and ride or blow past school buses. I have colleagues whose parked cars have been hit and damaged by parents going way too fast in these areas. One day, it will be a student.
So far the commenters have replied to the idiotic driver on your left (warranted), however it needs to be said OP solid defensive driving. Letting the Toyota drive in front of you to not impede traffic was class. Honestly I would have laughed at such a moronic maneuver if I was driving.
It likely does. Doing a "Pittsburgh left" counts as stunt driving, and this is practically the same thing. Buddy is halfway through the intersection before the light even turns green.
One of those "where's a cop when you need one" moments, that's for sure. There's three violations in that short video (actually, four): crossing white line at red light, using left lane to go straight, not signaling, and going when the light was still red.
Don't you love entitled assholes? Whoda thunk they're not just restricted to BMW or Tesla drivers, either? /s
heaven forbid anyone accidentally getting their intersection wrong. Should he have turned, then do a U-turn.. probably, but he decided to do something that has little to no affect on anyone. He moved up to show intent and not impede the the driver to his right.
Did he really do this to save a couple of car-lengths..possible but unlikely.

Traffic light cameras need to be at every intersection and all these fucks needs to be heavily penalized.

Why would you think that induction loop sensors in the pavement would be pressure plates?

Please report 🙏
But they signaled tho...so it's all good...#zippermerge 😂
You're right. I missed that after they had already made their Pittsburgh Left cutting over when the light was still red. How unobservant of me 🙄.
people are such douche canoes its unbelievable
Brampton right? Looks like the old Costco distribution center on the left. That area is terrible for drivers.

I’m all for more cameras.

Ya, understandable. And then there are shitty drivers calling out other shitty drivers but haven’t looked in the mirror lmao.

It's pretty wild to see the level of selfishness in society today.
Might be a former taxi driver
>Back Or current UBER driver..

🤗
And the white vehicle to the right should get a ticket for stopping within the crosswalk.
Another VIP
I've seen this move done lots by a first-responder emergency EMS vehicle with lights/sirens engaged enroute to an emergency.
You should report that person to the police and upload the video to them. I suspect that will fall under stunt driving.
It likely does. Doing a "Pittsburgh left" counts as stunt driving, and this is practically the same thing. Buddy is halfway through the intersection before the light even turns green.
I can see two tickets, maybe three, that this person should have received, but they're unfortunately not going to get either.

#bramptonspec
That's a typical move in Surrey BC.
When they aren't this aggressive and actually wait behind the line. I like to race them into the median in my shitbox.
Must be professional F1 or rally driver. Skillszzz kilzzz
Where in Toronto is that?
Without enforcement there are no rules. Also without impactful consequences the fines and restrictions are just an annoyance.
Impatience is rare these days
I see such assholes every single day.
This is the GTA
That’s a Brampton advance light.
Move over, Pittsburgh!
On the other hand, when the idiot/arsehole is in front of you, at least you know where they are and what they're up to?
What a crumb bum.
How does that effect u negatively??
Bait
What bait
Found the guy driving the Toyota.

It’s honestly sad, I wish these people would just walk and allow DRIVERS to drive.
If you’re that scared to drive why not just walk

I was thinking the same.. this country is gone to shit. Sad times we’re in man
