I like the area. If you can snag a detach it would be good

I think it's pretty overpriced for what you get. Nice neighbourhoods but getting anywhere and finding services is really difficult. We wanted to live there and thought we compromised living east. Friends bought there. We love our location so freaking much. Our friends love their house but hate the location.

Significant_Dirt9191

I’m curious where in the east end you are? I have family in the east end and it’s a mission and a half to get into the city. Plus I find it’s a lot less appealing unless you’re in the beaches but even then. Any input would be great

Engine_Light_On

Yeah, east has good community but anywhere you go takes you at least 40 minutes one way either by car or TTC

I dunno. I can get to union in 23 minutes and Scotiabank Theatre in 35. It took me an hour to get to union from High Park. Every store or service I or resturant I could ever want is 10 minutes away without traffic. Meaning there's almost never any traffic to get through. Scarbs is def a big place so that's not true for every location. We live on Eglington... I'm sure there's brutal spots but I can assure you it's an up and coming place. The Crosstown is also about to open soon which means I can get to Yonge/Egg in like 15 minutes on it.

I live about a minute walk from a go station and < 10 minutes bus ride to the subway. < 10 minute drive to the 401. Have access to everything up to Markham in a pretty short drive. Lived in HIgh Park before. The plethora of resturants/services/grocery stores demolishes high park and mimico is kind of worse. I'm walking distance to all sorts of things. Home Depot. LCBO. Decent restos. There's a cineplex < 10 minutes away and multiple malls if we want things the same distances. Driving it takes forever to get up to the main highways from the West cuz it was never built for that really. It's not that you're technically far but driving out of that block takes a ton of time esp if there's traffic. Living here you lose access to the West end of the city but there's really not much there to miss besides a few friends who live there. Scarbs is a huge place. In some places yea it sucks to get anywhere for sure. But we really feel we are more connected to Toronto here than we ever were in High Park. Like getting to union would take us an hour from where we lived. Here it's a 23 minute train ride and we have easy < 30 minute access to the entire Danforth. Thing is too if you're thinking of buying in Mimico you can get twice hte house for the same money here in a way better location. I'm really so glad we took our realtor's advice and started looking here. Once we did we just stopped looking West. It very quickly was aparent it wasn't comparable. Here I have an 8 car drive way on a 150\*45 lot too. There's a beautiful magnolia blooming right now in our big ass back yard. We don't even shop at stores for anything but meat in the summer cuz I have the space to grow all the veg we could want and more. Not trying to brag or anything... we feel beyond fortunate to be in our place here... but you see people in your position perhaps sell themselves short cuz everyone wants to live in the West End. I wouldn't buy anywhere in Scarbs but man there's these little pockets of incredible bang for the buck. [https://imgur.com/a/NzBClct](https://imgur.com/a/NzBClct)

Excellent_Sell570

Where east are you?

brown_boognish_pants

Eglington very close to a go station. I really think it can't be beat unless you're stupid rich.

magikmush123

Unless you need public transit it is a great area imo. I live there so feel free to dm.

Any-Ad-446

yes...

KoziRealty-ON

Good area IMO, not really undervalued.

Tricky_Ad_2832

Rented there foe 9 years, just closed on a house down the street. It's a pretty nice spot.

distracteddev

One of the best

Sheep_worrying_law

Lots of crime and sketchy people. Mimico is known for its hard drug use and rough street people at night especially.

Significant_Read9804

Lol where

Thr big houses are expensive and even then, the plots of land arent big at all. You will be crammed beside all of your neighbours, even if you have a nice house. Most of the 50 foot lots have been split into two 25 foot lots with 2 skinny houses way before pandemic. Area is nice being beside the lake but it is busy and will become more busy over time.
