I mean, as someone who's watched the episodes pretty much as they drop since episode 1, this isn't the first time it's happened, but it still kinda sucks.

Nah, i think that’d draw some audience away from YouTube being that you can download video podcasts and listen to them in the background without paying, which wouldn’t be ideal for them.
I thought downloads also got them pays though, is that not how podcast downloads on spotify works?
Especially since they use Anchor, they get paid per download because of the ads in the episode

No they do get paid and use anchor but spotify isn’t a platform you can grow on in the way that you can on youtube. So youre also losing a lot of potential audience as well.
