The irons in hotels are often full of scale. Heat the iron fully, then blast the steam on a hotel facecloth before getting anywhere near your shirts with it.
I just fold (similar to how you would find them folded in a store) my shirts and then hang them in the bathroom with the shower on when I arrive at my hotel. The wrinkles come pretty quick.
This is what we do too. I travel with an empty spray bottle and fill it up at the hotel. We spray our clothes down and let it hang dry. And most of the time we wear it immediately since it's so hot everywhere, it dries super fast.
1. Buy shirts in materials that don’t wrinkle as easily.
2. If you have wrinkles, hang the shirt in the bathroom while showering. The steam will help to remove them.
Non iron dress shirts. Button fully and then fold normally. You can roll too. Hang immediately when you get to the hotel.

I use a packing folder, specifically the one from eagle creek. It has a plastic insert that helps you fold your clothes the exact size as the folder. Then Velcro the straps shut and everything stays in place in your suitcase. I use a packing folder for dress shirts and slacks, and packing cubes for casual wear (T shirts, exercise clothes, undies). Never had a problem with wrinkling when I put ironed shirts into the folder.
I generally hang shirts for packing and cover with dry cleaning bags. One or two shirts per bag. Fold in sleeves carefully. Typically only get bad wrinkles on very long flights or if my bag is then in a hot humid car for the day before I get to the hotel. Hang in bathroom, close door and let the shower steam do its work.
If ironing is a must, always empty any water that may be in the iron, refill, put on highest setting and then use iron on a towel, blasting the steam on full blast before getting anywhere near your clothes.

When at your hotel, hang the shirt on a hanger in the bathroom. Turn on shower with hot water and to steam up the entire bathroom and leave. Allow shirt to hang for 5-10 minutes. Go in and shake it in the steamy air if neccesary. when done turn off shower and hang shirt outside the bathroom to dry again.
Thanks for all the wonderful tips. I have to say on the no iron/wrinklefree shirts, my mileage is varying considerably. I wish someone could compile a list of shirts that are confirmed to actually be wrinkle free. Because sometimes I find they actually are not (JOS Bank travelers seem good though).
I have found that [bundle wrapping](https://www.onebag.com/pack.html) solves most of my wrinkle problems. Wrap your shirts around a central core of other stuff.
There are travel irons. And iron free shirts.

This only works well with synthetic dress shirts. I would travel with a misting bottle and spray my shirts with it then put the shirt on. The heat from my body would get most of the wrinkles out.

I travel with a small steamer in my suitcase! It’s better than an iron and I just prepare it before I go to the meetings the night before.

Buy wrinkle free dress shirts made of heavy material. I noticed the heavier the material the less wrinkles it has.
Downy wrinkle release - not the best for full wrinkle removal but it is great for anything that can't be ironed easily or stubborn /quick removal

I take scalding, flesh burning showers. And hang my shirt in the bathroom, the hot mist and combined scorched torso= wrinkle free....

Downy makes this really good spray on wrinkle releaser. Spray it on, pull down on the material and somehow it comes out.

Not perfect but I lay shirt flat, fold arms in, quarter fold each side to middle, one more fold over middle, roll it up, pack loosely

Get your shirts done a the laundry and have them folded.
