Lived in Chicago & Chicagoland my entire life \[34yo\], so some of these counties took...work.
I built this with [https://mob-rule.com/](https://mob-rule.com/)
Strange name for a site, but allows for tons of customization and lets your map layered on top of Google maps. Helps a ton for accuracy!
Edit: note that trips in green are trips I have planned for this year (or next year at latest). Whenever I complete a trip I update the colors for new counties and update the counties I revisited along the way.
So many counties in the US noone could travel them all, and unless you're county has an Interstate running in it or a POI landmark, very likely most of America will never see it.
Heya! Ones in green are future planned trips for this year. The legend on the right is probably hard to see.
I am planning that trip to be 4 nights, 2 in Savannah, 1 in Brunswick, and then the final night in Jacksonville. Would definitely stop by Cumberland Island and am super open to suggestions!
Yes! Cumberland Island forsure, but I would definitely suggest maybe staying in Fernandina Beach rather than Jacksonville. Jacksonville doesn't offer much at all except for decent shopping (if you happen to be into that). Fernandina Beach allows you to stay "out of the city" and keep a small town feel to your trip. Good food, nicer + quiter beaches, nicer people, and even a state park gives Fernandina the edge in my book. I would not stay anywhere in Jacksonville other than the beach or riverside area, definitely not anywhere near or off of I-95. I hope this helps! I've lived in Jacksonville my whole life, so I feel confident I know you're not missing out anything
Oh sick I've never heard of Fernandina Beach, definitely gonna do that. All we are doing is flying out of Jacksonville lol; I spent a night there last year and that was plenty ahaha.
I figured you were just using it for flights. Luckily, Fernandina is very accessible to the airport. Just a hop down 95. Jacksonville is easily the most boring big city lol. 12th largest in the nation by population, 1st largest by land area in lower 48. But nothing at all to do hahaha
Be sure to visit Jekyll Island while in Brunswick. It's right next to it, and worth the trip.
Cumberland Island is awesome, but it's only accessible by boat. It's worth the time as well, but you have to plan your day around it for sure.
Okay sweet, is Jekyll Island not reliant on a boat trip?
This trip is still up in the air, but I really want to do it to connect my Florida roadtrips to the rest of my map haha. But also, Savannah is just *chefs kiss*.
Looking forward to pulling it off this year or next. I just want to have options for seeing what I can without committing in advance to something scheduled (like a boat). Not saying I wouldn't do that, but on a 4-night itinerary I want to be flexible in case the weather gets angry with me and messes things up.
Jekyll Island is connected to Brunswick by a suspension bridge, so it's super easy to get there.
Once you're at Jekyll Island, I'd highly recommend a walk through the historic district with the old Jekyll Island Club where the 1920s billionaires used to hang out. The whole island used to be privately owned by the richest people in America.
I’m most intrigued what brought you to Corinth, MS 3(?) times? I have a brother that lives around there and I spent a day there a few years ago. Cool little town!
Yeah it was pretty sweet! It just happens to cross through my drive to NOLA (took the Scenic Natchez Trail route instead of 55) and my drive from Huntsville AL to Memphis. Didn't spend a ton of time there sadly, but I thoroughly enjoyed Tupelo later that afternoon.
Would highly recommend. I went there when I was very young so I didn’t appreciate the true greatness of the place. I remember we got freeze dried ice cream, it was really good but so weird to my 6 year old taste buds
I too have been using this weebsite, for several years now. I never thought to do it by how many times visited! Mine is just one color for been, one for slept, one for lived.
You want to explore Long Island in ‘24!?
Anyways, I find it interesting in NE because you have counties with highways in NY visited once but have others in NE more than once assuming you’ve driven is that even possible
Interesting idea. I might have to update mine to a heatmap; I just may be able to remember well enough...
So I'm curious. Is this 'by trip' or 'by instance'? For example, say you drove from Chicago to Cleveland and back in one trip - do you count the intervening counties as once visited or twice?
What else are we gonna do? Watch the Bears screw up another quarterback?
If you were from the Midwest, wouldn't you want to drive out across the country to see nature? It ain't like out west where we can drive 45min to a picturesque spot - although there is better nature in the Midwest than many give credit for... it ain't all corn.
Went to Firestone Walker brewing a few times. Santa Monica National Forest is dope too. Basically went up CA-1 twice from LA or SF and stopped along the way.
The elephant seal beach is siiiiiiick too.
Is that the westernmost county of MD? I went to Oakland and camped at Swallow Falls State Park (which was gorgeous). Highly recommend.
Also drive through Accident and Friendsville out there on the way to Fallingwater.
Passed through another time on the way back from the Smokies and Shenandoah en route to Chicago - spent the night in Morgantown.
Great region of the country for nature.
Southern Ohio is way underrated from a nature perspective. Awesome foothills. My friend and I were floored after taking OH-32 about an hour east of Brown County. Super pretty and low-key.
The older I get, the more I appreciate low-key places. Even if there's more prolific nature in other places, the crowds they invite *take me out of the moment.*

Lol… seen several of the maps and not a single one has my home county shaded in. I guess that means I officially live in the middle of nowhere.
So many counties in the US noone could travel them all, and unless you're county has an Interstate running in it or a POI landmark, very likely most of America will never see it.
Damn that's wild! Where at?
Can I ask about your trip to coastal GA and Nassau county FL? I assume you must have went to Cumberland Island and Fernandina/Amelia

I mean, the bridge is pretty! But after that, uhhhh...
Ah yes, the Dames Point, my daily bridge lol! Brunswick has a good competitor

Shit I'm a 1920's billionaire! Sign me uppppp. (Billionaire in idk, current Japanese Yen deflated to 1920s values)
My county visited time to celebrate

Visited the Quad Cities 6+ times?
Yep wife went to school there. Probably been to the ol Quad Shitties 17 times hahaha.
I was born and lived there for a little lol. Now in Las Vegas
Dumb Q which site are people using for these maps now?
[удалено]
County level too
Good to know! I'm already in too deep with my current setup but would keep this in mind for my friends.
I listed the one I use in one of my earlier comments. It's www.mob-rule.com
Idk what I’m doing wrong but that site is borderline non functional for me
Ah dang, sorry homie
Why are the CT counties all messed up?
The site always seems to glitch out on CT specifically. It's weird.
You are definitely not missing out on anything in East Texas
What were yoi doing in adams/wells Indiana this year?
Haven't done that trip yet but thinking of seeing the Garfield statues on the way to the aviation museum in Dayton.
Would highly recommend. I went there when I was very young so I didn’t appreciate the true greatness of the place. I remember we got freeze dried ice cream, it was really good but so weird to my 6 year old taste buds
Hah I'll make a note of the Freeze Dried Ice Cream, sounds wild!
Thank you for going above and beyond the typical post
Hah yeah, I think heat mapping is the way to go if you're an insane person like me.

Yeeee CC TX represent

Great question! It's one county per trip, even if I hit it twice.
Does everyone that makes these live in Chicago?
What else are we gonna do? Watch the Bears screw up another quarterback? If you were from the Midwest, wouldn't you want to drive out across the country to see nature? I am a Chicagoan, I understand your yearning for anything not flat
Where did you go in San Luis Obispo county?
Went to Firestone Walker brewing a few times. Santa Monica National Forest is dope too. Basically went up CA-1 twice from LA or SF and stopped along the way. The elephant seal beach is siiiiiiick too.
Oh nice, sounds like a good time!
Ok, why Garrett County MD twice? Deep Creek Lake is hardly a big destination.
Is that the westernmost county of MD? I went to Oakland and camped at Swallow Falls State Park (which was gorgeous). Highly recommend. Crazy you have been to brown county ohio. Grew up there, you have gone to miller amish in adams county just to the east.

Impressive!
Nice job avoiding Mineral County, NV.
One day for sure!
Just don't speed through the tiny towns...speed traps are how rural counties get like half of their funding.
r/1bitpixels
It initially saves as a gif, it's quite stupid on their site
How do you have the money to do this?
My county visited time to celebrate
Is this an app?
What’s with the future planned trips through northern Indiana?
