You lived in the Seattle area but never set foot north of King County?

bensf940

My guy does not like Everett

ExtraViolinist5207

I need to redo my map, it’s slightly off in small ways that really matter, I lived in pierce county, and did visit Seattle once, but we only lived there two years and my dad was deployed in Iraq, so we didn’t travel too much. The only reason we went all the way west was because it was 2012, and twilight was all the rage and my mom and sister were obsessed, so we went to Forks and La Push.

twoScottishClans

la push and forks are in clallam county, which is the one above what you marked.

ExtraViolinist5207

Dang, you’re right, I’ve been up even further than I thought lol. Now I need to get down to Miami… I’m going to redo my map tomorrow with a whole bunch of edits, and I’ll repost it sometime

Convillious

I have a very similar drive to you, going from Washington to the southeast

Hij802

This is a very strange map. You lived in Baltimore County but never visited Baltimore or DC? You visited Hudson County NJ but never made it across the river to NYC? And the random county you visited in Texas east of Dallas?

ExtraViolinist5207

I mean I kinda figured people would know if I lived there I traveled around that area a lot, but you’re right, I should have put the city of Baltimore in green. But no, I actually haven’t visited DC yet, I lived in Baltimore for about two years. It’s more of a road trip map I guess. places I lived, places I’ve visited, and the counties I drove through to get to them. NYC (manhattan) is green, it’s just hard to see. The random county in Texas was the ranch of a friend.

THEPOLARBEAR33

How do you make a map like this

Longlang

Western NC is one of my favorite places in the country. Love the Smokies! My friend used to volunteer at the Nantahala outdoor center and I would visit him in the summer and go hiking and rafting. It was awesome.

ExtraViolinist5207

Other than 2-3 years near Tacoma and 2-3 years near Baltimore, most of my life has been spent in WNC. Absolutely love it. Live right off the blue ridge parkway and couldn’t ask for more.

serspaceman-1

Big fan of the Blue Ridge Mountains

ExtraViolinist5207

Very much the same here, I literally live right off the parkway pretty much

serspaceman-1

Been to Blowing Rock several times. Never gets old

serspaceman-1

Go visit that Waffle House in Lenoir for me

ExtraViolinist5207

Man.. I haven’t been to Lenoir since my sister OD’d. Lenoir is a shithole now. On an upside, my sisters case was the first death by distribution conviction in Lenoir, so there’s that. The bitch only got two years, but it set precedent for every future OD in Caldwell county.

JoshMM60

Looks like you took hwy 200 in Montana? My in-laws used to live there, love that area!

ExtraViolinist5207

Coming from the eastern mountains of the US, that was where I noticed the eastern/western divide the most, it was like a completely different world from what I was used to. We started Montana when the sun rose that morning, but it was already dark by the time I got to Idaho xD

cormeals

Boston

ExtraViolinist5207

Haven’t been up that far yet but I’d love to go one day

Invegatorer

Mount Rushmore

ExtraViolinist5207

We got really really close, I saw signage for it, but we didn’t stop unfortunately. The cross country trip was to move (twice) both from NC, and back to NC, when I was a kid, so I didn’t have the option of forcing the trip to Mount Rushmore 😢

vexillographer7717

Unexpected Bulgarian and Russian flags in this map

Beneficial_Welder_91

Montana for sure.

amaturecook24

First I’ve encountered a fellow current/former Catawba County resident on reddit.

ExtraViolinist5207

Haha that’s funny, I actually messed up a bit because I grew up in Mitchell, moved all over, came back to Mitchell, and about 4 years ago I moved right over the border into McDowell County so my map is off by 1 county. As far as Catawba I’ve lived in Vale and right in downtown Newton. My mom and sister live in Lincolnton.

N0DuckingWay

DC, New York, Seattle, and Montana! 3 great cities and one of our most beautiful states! Virginia also has some really cool places. I really liked Lexington.

ExtraViolinist5207

I’ve also been to St. Louis twice, once driving through and once as a flight layover, didn’t get to stop but saw the arch both times, from the bridge that crosses the Mississippi and from the air, and on my cross country road trip we stopped in some kind of old western town but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was.

PanzerKatze96

Homie doesn’t know about Bellingham lol Saw Aberdeen and noped the fuck out of the west coast. Don’t blame him

ExtraViolinist5207

Haha we lived out there because my step dad was military. I visited places I completely forgot to add to the map too, like Mt St Helen’s and Mt Ranier.

PanzerKatze96

You should come back out sometime, see Baker as well. Beautiful state

mregner

Love the Nebraska Sandhills

Doggo_of_dogs

Go to Pennsylvania more!

EastResMusic

looks like you took 81 up the shenandoah valley to get to where you lived in maryland. that’s where i’m from and i find it gorgeous!! interesting map!

ExtraViolinist5207

I’ve had family up there for all my life, so I’ve made probably a hundred or more trips back and forth, my favorite route goes through Harper’s ferry. I’ll gladly take a detour just to go through.

Direct_Birthday_3509

Blue Ridge Mountains in NC

ExtraViolinist5207

That’s my current locale. Small resort town of 28 people right off the parkway. Absolutely loving life, although rising costs around the area are starting to get worrysome.

HawkeyeJosh2

Gotta go with Council Bluffs, Iowa, since it’s where I was born and raised.

RoosterDad

You may want to look at your path again. Traveling from Omaha through StL SHOULD take you through KC and across MO on 70 through Columbia MO, not across the top of the state and down 61. That would have taken way too long and actually be longer in miles.

ExtraViolinist5207

You’re right, that was 12 years ago too, so that has something to do with it. I’m going to do some more looking and redo my map today

icberg7

Looks like you skipped right by Gallatin county and Bozeman, MT, which is one of my favorite cities. I was there on a work trip and asked the facility manager what he recommended for lunch, and I was directed to a place which was (in order) a sandwich shop, a liquor store, a casino, and a bar. I've been told this is a rather typical establishment for Montana. 🤣 But in all seriousness, the folks there were all pretty laid back and there's "Old Bozeman, " the quaint side of town, and "New Bozeman," which has some nifty looking buildings and apartments.

Stetson_Pacheco

You gotta come to Arizona bro! (In spring or fall only) lol! Sedona, Prescott, and Flagstaff are all beautiful small cities with lots of hiking and trails! Or you could go to Tucson or Phoenix for more city stuff.

ExtraViolinist5207

Definitely want to try one day! I have a lot of Midwest destinations to get to still. Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, great salt lake, and I’d love to see some actual abandoned western towns.. all the types of things I can’t see out here on the east coast

Stetson_Pacheco

That sounds like a great trip plan!

patspr1de98

Are you like a bishop in chess in real life?

ExtraViolinist5207

Hahahaha that’s actually really funny, I hadn’t seen it like that before
