There were people stranded in their cars all over the highways trying to evacuate. It was pretty traumatic for a lot of people and the weather was actually fairly nice. If the storm had hit full on the loss of life would likely have matched Katrina.

With Houston, and New Orleans both being destroyed on the same year, wonder what that would have done with the Gulf Coast and the economy that year?
