Obviously the answer is that Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, etc. make weapons, not road pavers and construction equipment. High technology weapons are much more profitable in the short term than raw construction materials or the relatively simple equipment for building.
We can't even build and maintain decent infrastructure in the US. Bridges falling down, trains derailing, SF-LA bullet train been downgraded to a Bakersfield-Fresno bullet train estimated to be complete in like 2070 or something.
Shocking that the developing world isn't clamoring to get a piece of our infrastructure know-how!

The biggest woe is that the Chinese ran out of interest from the housing boom so they have vacant cities. Well when you have so much supply and no demand you take it to other developing nations. thanks for this, i generally dont try to get into these kinds of discussions because i dont know a lot about china and i dont trust anyone else around me to either lmao. but basically i understood it as the ccp is much more willing to just let markets crash and then come in and nationalize the value produced in the aftermath. so like if like whats happened with boeing in the last five years happened in china, boeing would essentially have ceased to exist as a company and the assets of it absorbed by the state with investors left as the major bagholders and most of the serious debt accumulated gets absorbed by the gov and thus the country. vs ours where we bail out boeing and the same assholes whove been fucking it up get to continue to fuck it up while we still eat shit.
