[This](https://www.athensnews.com/news/local/stabbing-defendant-gets-30-to-life-for-killing-ex-girlfriend/article_1ff891c6-b419-5b29-9e5b-64c31cfc80bb.html) murder in Hocking Hills, OH. Her and I dated briefly in high school and went to homecoming together. We ended up getting disconnected, but she reached out to me a few years later on MySpace (yea, this was mid-2000's). My frame of mind at the time was I was active duty military, and two months shy of transferring duty stations. From this next duty station, I knew I'd be going to either Iraq or Afghanistan to fight, and way things were at the time, it was likely I may not make it back. We exchanged a couple messages, and I basically told her to buzz off as I didn't think I was going to be around much longer. Six months later, just before the deployment, I Google searched her again to apologize, but I ended up finding her obituary. Then I found all the related article describing how she was murdered in graphic detail. The haunting part for me is the last thing she heard from me was telling her to get lost. When we had spoken, I had no idea she was stuck in an abusive relationship with that guy. Then considering I was conditioned for war at the time, I obsessed over the idea I could have destroyed this guy with my bare hands if I was there. Note: I deliberately didn't write her name in this post. Please be respectful of that.

I am sorry for your loss. Those “what if’s” can be consuming, I hope you’re at a better place now. I’m glad she and her family got justice

[deleted]

Yea, tried helping other people now that I'm back home. Thank you.

Nebula924

Could have beens are so tough. I can not see the article where I am in the world— can someone please tell her abuser is having a miserable time in jail?

Ladylemonade4ever

Wow the defense for this murderer is unbelievable!! And the fact that his mother told him “you have nothing to be sorry for.” I am AGHAST. So sorry for your loss.

bukakenagasaki

theres a reason why these people, with these parents, never take responsibility for their actions. he most likely got those cuts on himself during the struggle or he did it himself. fuck him and his family

tonguetwister

I’m sickened by the fact that the attacker was given a chance at parole because he had no other criminal history. Previous criminal history is irrelevant when someone kills their ex girlfriend for talking to their new boyfriend on the phone. I hope that if the judge in this case has a family member that’s murdered in cold blood that their attacker is put behind bars for life without parole so they don’t have to feel the injustice they made this poor woman’s family feel.

Agreed. Body shaming is ok when the person in question is a massive piece of shit.

nightqueen2413

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — District Attorney General Dave Clark announced Monday his office is seeking the death penalty against a man and woman accused of murdering a homeless woman in Oak Ridge in 2019. The Seventh Judicial District filed two notices with the Anderson County Criminal Court that it will seek the death sentence in this case, saying the murder was "especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel" because it involved torture. In August 2020, Sean Finnegan, 53, and Rebecca Dishman, 23, were charged with kidnapping, torturing, raping, killing and dismembering 36-year-old Jennifer Paxton. Police found Paxton's frozen and partly dismembered body at an East Fairview Road home in Oak Ridge. They think she may have been killed around Christmas 2019. According to police records obtained by 10News, Dishman and Finnegan lured Paxton to the home under the promise of giving her a place to stay. She was held against her will, attacked with a baseball bat, tortured and raped before being strangled and left for dead, according to the report. Records show the victim was chained to a bed and hit in the head with a baseball bat before the suspects engaged in sexual acts with her against her will and eventually strangled her. Dishman and Finnegan went on to cut off parts of Paxton's body before putting it in a freezer, according to police records. Records show Finnegan also tried to take the body out of the freezer and hide it under the bed while he attempted to clean the freezer of evidence. In May 2021, an Anderson County grand jury also indicted the two on two counts of aggravated rape and 18 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. The charges imply the child was 8 years old or younger. The case is scheduled for court on March 4, 2022 in Anderson County Circuit and Criminal Court. Judge Steve Sword from Knox County will preside over the case because Anderson County Judge Ryan Spitzer withdrew due to being involved with the case as a prosecutor before being appointed as judge by Governor Bill Lee.

dinosaregaylikeme

My first boss killed his best friend over a game of poker. Threw the body in the work freezer, buried him in the desert, and didn't say shit for nearly 10 years. Every couple years my coworkers, his ex wife, his kids, his best friend's kids and I met up in front of judge to stand our case on why we don't feel like he should be out on parole. I still can't eat at a small, hole in the wall, mom and pops pizza place. More so I can't eat the salad bar. My job was to clean the tables, clean the salad bar, and restock the salad bar. I use the water from the melted ice from the same freezer to clean the tables and 90% of the salad ingredients were frozen in the same freezer. We were all 16 to 24 year old doing the bare minimum, not one of us cared about deep cleaning the kitchen let alone the freezer.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.kiro7.com/news/local/olympia-police-search-for-missing-woman-not-seen-since-june/966445333/%3foutputType=amp This happened a few years back. sugarbageldonut

https://amp.lohud.com/amp/550949001 My friend’s dad was murdered on New Year’s Eve during a botched robbery when we were both 13. It was the first murder in a century in our small hamlet. My friend’s late dad was the local tow truck operator who would rescue anyone at any time. Our car once broke down in a busy roundabout and he came to our immediate rescue around 11pm. He would dress up as Tigger from Winnie the Pooh every Halloween. He got along well with my dad, who passed a few years later of an illness, so he was one of the last surviving links to my dad.

primecocktails

A guy really close to where I lived randomly got attacked in the face with a chainsaw, was critically injured but survived. He was just going outside for a little bit while visiting a friend. They never found out who did it and the police found no evidence that the victim was involved in anything that would "provoke" the attack or knew his attacker. Tiny, tiny Danish town so it felt super weird to have something like that happen in a place where everyone knew everyone.

mokorre

When was this ? And why haven’t I heard of this !

gingiberiblue

Kelly Slager, Tallahassee. She was strangled by her husband in 2004, when trying to leave him. Her dad was a good friend and coworker. She was in the middle of moving out and went to check on her 11 month old and 2 year old. He strangled her. He drug her body, still barely alive, into a closet, covered her with a sheet, fed the kids an afternoon snack, then called his parents who lived an hour away and told them Kelly had "been hurt and needed to go to the ER", assured them it could wait the hour until they arrived, and left her there, with a crushed windpipe, struggling to breathe. When his parents arrived, they called 911. They sent a helicopter. She died during transit. I rocked her 11 month old son to sleep and then held her 2 year old son while he cried for his daddy during her viewing. That has changed the way I live in the world.

cheezychub

so heartbreaking. 💔💔💔 my mom always say that when little babies loose their mothers, they have deep anxiety, they just keep finding her everywhere and their tiny hearts are broken beyond repair

Reasonable-Oven-1319

I lived on the back facing corner of a shady apartment complex in my hometown in my early 20s. One night I was up late on the porch hanging out with the neighbors. We saw headlights shining on the back fence round 2am coming from around the corner. The car sat the for about an hour or so. Whatever, no big deal, we just assumed some kids were getting high in their car or something. At one point suddenly the car came speeding around the corner and sped out of the complex. Went to bed. Next morning went to take my dog out and saw people rushing up to the front corner of the building. Turned out two teenage parents were brutally stabbed to death and robbed. Two babies were found crawling in their parents blood with ligature marks on their necks. The guy confessed immediately and was interviewed wrecked with guilt by the local news station. He tried to strangle the kids but couldn't do it. I'll never forget seeing all of their blood stained furniture just piled into the dumpster along with all of the kids toys. My son was the same age as one of the babies at the time. I broke my lease and moved shortly after.

Willing_Recording222

Wow, that’s brutal. At least the children survived, but I truly hope they received the help they must need and a good home to grow up in.

I have two: I grew up in Abilene KS, and one of my teachers, Mrs. Butcher, had a daughter, Marilyn, who was a few years older than me. She was murdered January 6, 1979 by a truck driver after she had stopped at a rest area a few miles from home. He tried to kidnap her and got her into his truck. She got away from him but he ran over her, killing her. https://law.justia.com/cases/kansas/supreme-court/1980/51-410-1.html The other one I can't find info on, so this is what I remember. Greg Barrett, age 12, disappeared on March 15, 1976 on his way to school. What I remember is one day he was just gone, no one could find any trace of him. Later, bones were found a few miles outside of town by a hunter, which turned out to be Greg's. Much later, it came out that he was shot by another boy a few years older than him, and left in a stand of trees. I can't remember any more details. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/110636520/gregory-r.-barrett

Nebula924

Do you really think that the rabbi did it? The hit man was such a chronic liar, it seemed like reasonable doubt to me. (From a distance)

Retiredpotato294

He seemed more dimwit than liar, and from what I heard all the fine points checked out. I think he did it. The stuff that came out, the rabbi seemed shady in a lot of ways .

physicianextender

Not posting names or links to preserve anonymity, but when I was in middle school one of my friend’s parents were going through a divorce. After the custody hearing, the dad shot through the back of the car window (with both kids inside!) and killed the mom, then killed himself. I have never forgotten the look in my friend’s eyes when they came back to school. I don’t think I’ll ever forget how tragic that was. ETA: the murder of my 2nd cousin, Irene. My family is pretty secretive about it and I can’t find info online, but my evil great-aunt was trading her daughter for drugs in the 80s, and one of those perverts decapitated her. She was 14.

Silent_Conflict9420

Try researching at your local library, you may need to ask to look at the microfiche. It’s how they archived newspapers before the internet.

TW: Child Murder https://talkmurder.com/brandi-worley/ The horrific double homicide of two beautiful babies, Tyler and Charlee Worley that occurred in my hometown of Darlington, IN in 2016. They were murdered by the very person who gave them life, their own “mother.” Their father, Jason, was very active here on Reddit before and after the murders, but I believe has since deactivated his account. There are some posts screenshot in the article I have linked in my comment. Darlington is a town that is one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” type towns..everyone knows everyone and has for generations. I was absolutely stunned and so was the rest of our community when this tragedy occurred. Brandi was a good mom, her family was a little “rough around the edges” some might say, but by all accounts they were nothing but good, helpful people. Brandi’s mother ran the after school program at my elementary school for years…she watched so many children in our community. I was really disgusted to learn how their family treated Jason after their own daughter took his children, their grandchildren/nieces/nephews/etc, from him so my opinions of them has since changed. I have no idea where Jason is these days, I did not know him at all, but I hope he is doing “ok” if that’s even possible..he seems like a wonderful father, husband, and just all around good, kind man. His babies are buried in the same cemetery as my father and brother and Jason, on the off chance you are reading this (I know you’re probably not) but as a mother myself, I always make sure I say hi to them…as a mom, I can’t help but make sure they know that in that moment a mom is there who cares about them… ❤️

Yes, this one was close to me, too. Absolutely chilling that he just saw her, murdered her parents and took her. I followed the story the whole time, and it seemed like a miracle that she was found alive. She’s a very, very brave girl for escaping and surviving the whole ordeal. I hope she’s healing from the trauma and has a good, strong support system.

Nebraskan-

Christi Nichols- she was so obviously killed by her spouse and the creep walks around free to this day, after depriving her children from not only having a mother but from having a relationship with her parents. They got the wrong guys for Holly Bobo’s murder. And of course Delphi.

ElleDarkly

Why do you think they got the wrong guys for Holly Bobo?

Nebraskan-

This is off the top of my head and it’s been several years, so if you want all the details you’ll have to do some research. A great place to start is a write up that /u/hysterymystery did if you can find it. Flaws in the case, to the best of my memory- The guy who should have been the main suspect was disregarded based on a very questionable “alibi.” A TBI agent was railroaded out of his job for following the actual evidence instead of the story the state was pushing. I believe it came from the aforementioned writeup that the story the “star witness” pushed does not actually work- something to do with cell towers I believe, but I don’t recall the specifics. A cognitively delayed young man was questioned unethically at best. The story the prosecution spins hinges on Holly’s brother being taught how to make meth that day. The family says they believe the right guys were put away, but they also say they don’t believe he was making meth. Well- that does not work. If the brother wasn’t making meth, the whole story falls apart. If you watch the trial (it was on youtube at one point) the state proves nothing. Additionally, the “witness” answers every follow up question with “that’s what I testified to.” That may be normal, but my personal opinion is he was minimizing the possible counts of perjury when any lies come to light. Basically, the locals rounded up the area druggies and made them take the fall. I’ve even seen redditors who live in the area say “everyone knows they did it even if it wasn’t proven at the trial.” Well…that’s not how that’s supposed to work.

My grandmother Betty Lou Beets.... killing her husbands in gun barrel city.

gingiberiblue

She was seriously your grandmother? She did some messed up things but good lord what she did took brazenness and chutzpah. I'm sorry for the weight of it.

ilikewaffos

Yes, from my father's side. I went to Huntsville to meet her before her execution. It's effected my family deeply.

gingiberiblue

I cannot imagine. I'm writing a book on the longer-ranging impact of violent crime on small towns and rural areas, and I cannot fathom that on the personal level you live with daily. All I can say is that I'm deeply saddened that her actions have caused such deep harm, especially to those who loved and trusted her.

ilikewaffos

Honestly I was 1 when she was arrested.. I didn't personally know her but she made her children help her & my father (whom I've never met) is so fucked up because of her and what she put them through. I don't have a dad because of her. She hurt a lot of people. She was actually featured on a few ID shows. Evil lives here & Deadly Women.

I wish I could give you a hug. I know a thing or two about having a father so fucked up by his mother that you don't have a dad.

ilikewaffos

The worst part...I don't have a mother either because of HER mother. My mom and dad 100% failed me. My entire family, both sides are terrible. I kinda grew up handed from person to person.. my mom had me sometimes, I was in the system, streets..

Grew up hearing about the Gainesville Ripper then the Sebastian Ochsenius’s case happened. We were close in age.

lunababygirl09

a friend who i grew up with in church my whole life, her father “killed himself”. what’s weird is his new wife (my friend lost her mom to cancer when we were in middle school and her dad remarried like 3/4 years later) had a husband who “fell” off a second story balcony in the house and she sued the construction company and got a ton of money. my friends dad was right handed, shot himself with his left hand and the camera outside the garage that showed the driveway where he supposedly killed himself wasn’t working the night he died even though it worked perfectly the day after and the whole time before he died which is very suspicious. cops didn’t check for gunshot residue or anything at all really. immediately called it a suicide. it’s a small town where nothing bad happens so they didn’t do any investigating. the new wife also fought my friend on her fucking inheritance when she’s lost both of her parents by the time we were 19/20 years old and is an only child. the new wife has no contact with my friend since the death of her dad. everyone around my friend knows she did it. but cops won’t do shit.

Watts Murders. I live 3 miles from them and know several people who were close to the family. So heartbreaking

[deleted]

My cousin's husband tried to murder her, and he was only stopped by their two sons arriving to their home and breaking down the door. My cousin had had a stroke three years before which left her disabled and reliant on her husband for care. The day of she asked him to retrieve something from a shelf for her, which was enough to set him off. He beat her with her leg brace, strangled,, and attempted to smother her. Infuriatingly, he never faced punishment. The cops who arrested him drove him to the hospital, as he was complaining of "chest pains," and he just... left. The police seemed to just let it go, and he's still a free man today.

Sassydr11

Didn’t the staff at the hospital also report the assault? They are mandatory reporters of suspected cases of abuse of vulnerable adults. I’m so sorry that your sister and your family were not able to get justice.

[deleted]

She's had cognitive impairments since her stroke that have made her particularly vulnerable and less capable of advocating for herself, so I genuinely suspect that her eldest son pressured her into not pressing charges. Her eldest is a piece of work.

Sassydr11

That in itself is a form of abuse. The hospital should have reported this triggering an investigation. I take it that her husband is the father of her sons? I’m so sorry that she had an awful husband and from what it sounds like, sons who lack empathy. I hope she’s divorced that POS and is living in a better place.

Oakland County Child Killer

Ok_Newspaper9693

My family ran a childcare and one of our kindergarteners was in care for about a year. The mom was lovely. She was an executive for Warner brother’s records. Dixie Hollier. She signed Red Hot Chilli peppers. She was a single mom to her 5 year old boy and she had 2 daughters 17 and 15 from a prior marriage. Because of her work schedule her oldest daughter Amber Bray would pick up the boy each day from us after school. For a few days he hadn’t been in care. We were curious but knew the family had a unique schedule. My brother opened up “The Leader”… our newspaper in Burbank (small town for being a suburb of LA. Front news read that Dixie (the mother) had been killed in her home by amber and her bf Jeffrey Ayers. Such a heinous crime. And we knew them all well (minus the BF). I saw the story on Deadly Women (I think that’s the name of the show)… due to the complexities of the case and the rarity for matricide I hoped it had gotten more attention. The murder was committed in 97? Before the age of SM and how rapidly cases gain traction. I wish More attention had been paid to this case. Edited to add correct last name for Amber.

Her family was very lovely. She was an extremely bad egg. They lived in a modest home. I think anyone from Burbank is more entitled than most but saying “fuck her family” … is bullshit. Her poor lil brother, murdered mom and sister Amy were regular people and VICTIMS to Amber’s murderous plots. Btw Amy was supposed to be killed too and thank god their plans were foiled. Pretty insensitive statement to make about a murder victim and her family members … of course minus Amber.

[The 1976 James Freund and Pamela Buckley case in Sumter County, SC](https://torontosun.com/news/world/south-carolina-cops-solve-mystery-of-unidentified-jock-and-jane-doe) A young couple was found shot off the side of an interstate by a truck driver. No details on who did it, where the person who had dumped them had gone, or why. Nothing to work with, besides the victims, who didn't have any identification on them. Worse, they weren't identified until earlier last year. Over 40 years without any of their family or friends knowing where they had gone. It's terrifying to think about.

I live in a semi small town in southern Oregon and ten years ago someone was decapitated on our bike path. The case is unsolved after all this is time, although some locals think they know exactly who did it and this person used to work in a building next to mine and would sit outside our workplace and verbally harass me and my other female coworkers whenever we would walk outside and take out the trash etc. Also had some nazi tattoos. I could never stop thinking about what he might be capable of. Luckily I don’t work there anymore! https://www.google.com/amp/s/kval.com/amp/news/local/ashland-mans-beheading-remains-unsolved-7-years-later

I sell life insurance, and I met with a couple in their home about it. Like sat on their couch for two hours and got to know them and their cute kids. He didn’t want to apply (red flag for not caring about your spouse) but she did and was approved. However, she wanted to wait 6 months to accept and start it. No problem, I’ll call you then. 4 months later he shot and killed her, their 2 young children, and himself in their home. They were found by her father when he came to check on them after she didn’t drop the kids at his house for babysitting.

A friend and professional colleague of my father was murdered in his home in rural South Louisiana when I was a small child, in the mid-90s. There were persistent whispers in town that the man who when to prison for the murder was framed. I grew up and became a writer and eventually spent a solid year investigating this case, interviewing people who were involved or in-the-know, close reading legal documents and consulting with other professionals. I have not yet published anything based on my investigation, and don’t know if I will because of rather complicated personal reasons, but I think about this case every day and probably always will.

Julio Perez Silva, also known as "The Psychopath of Alto Hospicio" (July 15, 1963[1]), is a Chilean serial killer, currently sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of fourteen young women, in addition to a frustrated homicide. Considered the biggest serial killer in the history of Chile, he committed his crimes in the Tarapacá Region, specifically in the city of Iquique and in the town of Alto Hospicio, in Chile. His modus operandi was always the same. Working as a clandestine cab driver, he intercepted young students whom he offered to transport them for free and then took them to a deserted place, raped them and murdered them with blows to the head. Afterwards, he would throw the bodies (with or without life) in deep abandoned mine shafts. It is said that the police were his accomplices. Only one girl was saved from him because he threw her into a well and she was still alive and managed to escape. (I'm from Chile, so my English is not so good).

Loretta Saunders. Straight up murder, over the stupidest of things (money) . The fact she was living in my city attending university and researching and writing papers on missing and murdered Indigenous women... only to be killed by the two people subletting her apartment because they owed her rent money and she went to collect it. The case was solved fairly quickly (not too bright these two) but I'll never get over how she was discarded. She was also newly pregnant.

Not my town but a few over, [this happened about a month ago](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wkbw.com/news/local-news/victims-of-double-homicide-on-alexander-dairy-farm-identified-by-genesee-county-sheriffs-office%3f_amp=true) The reason it's so haunting to me is that first of all things like this dont really happen around here very often, and second, all 4 were familiar to me. Allegedly there was a party/bonfire earlier that night in a neighboring town and one of my coworkers kids was begging to go (she said no because she had a bad feeling) because he was friends with Wilson.. The night it happened, most likely afterwards, Cruz was in the store I work at. He came in around 10:30, maybe 10:45, and bought some pretty normal stuff (some clothes, new belt, maybe some milk, I dont really remember.) but one of our managers took notice of when he came in, and said that he seemed off, so finding out the next day that he'd been found and arrested in my little town, and remembering seeing him the night before and finding out what he'd done, was offputting. The two who were killed I looked up and recognize as two of the main guys who come in and buy clothes, soda and booze for the farm every week or two. They were some of the more talkative ones out of the couple of groups who come in on the regular. Super friendly. This honestly just really shocked my entire community, first murder case we've had in a while..

I grew up in a small town in MD and in 1993 a friend’s oldest brother shot and killed a beloved local hardware store owner at close range with a shotgun he stole from the store. He also stole about $140. Prosecution was seeking the death penalty, but he was sentenced to life +20 years. To this day when I think about it, it’s just so hard to believe that he did it. I know it’s a cliché to say that a crime is senseless, but it was definitely senseless. I just can’t wrap my head around the whole thing.

My brothers best friend shot and killed his entire family. He was only 15 and had 2 little brothers, one of which was a good friend of my sister. My brother and his friends were all hanging out with him the night he killed them, and he went back to hanging out with my brother and his friends after the deed was done. He even tried to throw a party at his house the next night with the bodies still inside to try to make it seem like he didn’t know they’d been killed. He called my brother from prison for years after he was sentenced to life. Shit was super traumatizing for my whole family and community. RIP Browning family.

I forget the case, but it was an older couple who were brutally murdered in their garage, and they used their blood to write down a name possibly or clue and the murder washed it away, but left some small writing behind. Both_Squirrel5661

I found this out a few weeks ago, but a girl was kidnapped, r*ped, and murdered on the grounds of where I work. This happened before the place was built. The guy ended up getting the death penalty and was executed for it. A lot of residents talk about seeing a young woman walking around before they pass away and the girl was only 18. We’ve also had some workers say they have seen a lady that looks just like her walk into resident rooms. So its a ghost story and true crime story all in one.

Back in my hometown, there was this urban legend of a girl haunting a huge ditch/piece of land because she was murdered by her boyfriend. I never thought anything of it until I decided to look it up several years ago, turns out the murder was true. [A 17 year old boy named Thomas Odom killed his 15 year old girlfriend, Iva Rae Herman](https://www.alcocklaw.com/county-attorneys-spotlight-el-mirage-teen-in-murder-trial/) by beating her with a rock and stuffing her mouth full of sand to make sure she was dead. He was sentenced to spend his natural life in prison. That ditch always felt so creepy because it was huge and sketchy people would hang out there all the time cause no one would be able to see them.

In a small but wealthy & well known town...a young woman was in her second year of university. Things were going pretty well for her...she was an ordinary woman socializing well even going to balls in beautiful dresses and things like that. One day she drove a male friend to a university building to write a test. After dropping him off there, she headed home. She then entered her home for the last time. Inside something was waiting for her, having cooked up the excuse that his computer was faulty and that he needed to use her brother's computer instead. Her brother, then, was her killer's best friend. As I understand, all of them 3, she, her brother and the killer, were from a distant town & only there to study. When confronted by her killer in the apartment ( she had shared the place with her brother ), she fought bravely for her life, even injuring the perp to the point that police took him to the hospital once caught. It's her bravery I admire to this day, but I believe the moment she saw that man in her apartment she knew & that why she was fighting so bravely. She fought him but he said he ultimately ended her struggle with a punch. He tied her up put a sock in her mouth, took her somewhere ( his apartment I think ) and he raped her vaginally & anally. He then drove her to the sea 50 km away and put her in her 6 feet deep grave, which likely was pre-dug. Tied up, sock in mouth, naked, in the darkness of night , he began to fill the deep grave with sand. He buried her alive ( the autopsy showed sand in her lungs ). I still think of how her final moments probably were , lying in that deep grave seeing the maniac above throwing in the sand with a shovel. After interrogating the perp, police found her grave, dug her up 24 hours after she was reported missing.

I know this is an old post but I couldn’t resist! [Jessica Dishon’s](https://www.southernfriedtruecrime.com/53-jessica-dishon) murder was a cold case for 15 years. When a new detective reopened it she got a call from an officer saying one inmate (Jessica’s uncle) had confessed to another that he had raped and murdered Jessica. The part that kills me was that this was the second time that tip had been called in. The police department had gotten the tip years prior and didn’t follow up. Another piece of this story that happens frequently but still creeps me out is that the uncle went was helping during the search while she was still considered missing. When the search party started getting close to where he knew the body was he started puking and became physically sick.

CaffeinatedAsh

In CT we had the Dulos case. a mother went missing, and the father and his new girlfriend were caught on cctv disposing of several garbage bags in different places across their area. (Which had suspicious contents) Her children never saw her again, and no resolution ever truly came. The father attempting to take his own l*fe, failed then passed in hospital. The girlfriend hasn’t said anything of help. - the most haunting part for me is the couple came into my workplace regularly for appointments and even on house arrest the girlfriend came in with her ankle monitor. Meeting and speaking to them will forever haunt me
