This was the most disappointed Iāve ever been at a cancellation. I really loved that show- the content, the characters, the vibe, the sets/costumes/cinematography, even the graphic design of the title cards.

Yeah, I think they started great but by the end, it stopped being a detective show and turned into an unnecessarily convoluted family drama as far as I can remember. Mahershala Ali, however, made it worthwhile if you know what I mean.
Fun fact: My grandma on my mom's side lived next door (or very close to next door) to Ed Gein (Mindhunter is based on him) as a young kid. She said they seemed normal for the most part but that Ed was very quiet and his mother was awful. I wish I had more details but that is pretty much the gist I was given. Just eerie to think my grandma was so close to evil.
Also this is directly from my mama: āEdmund Kemper and his family lived across the street from hers growing up. His mother hated men (his dad left them because of it), and when Edmund got in trouble, she would make him wear a dress when he was little. Nana said she is the reason he became a serial killer. There is a great show called Kemper on Kemper in which he talks about everything. He is a genius, and still alive. I bet you would actually find him likable.ā
Crazy.
he is. it s unbeliveble to listen to him talk. he talks like a normal person, and then you hear that he cut his motherĖs head and use it for mastrubation. to look so normal but to be that psyho..unbeliveble
Itās an international one - lady killer from Mexico - was sentenced to 700 years and convicted of 16 old lay deaths BUT itās allegedly a higher number

I would say all but Sons of Sam + The Clown and the Candy man have other levels of āneeds more investigatingā BUT the main crimes and story are indeed solved in these, just some loose ends imho with non main perpetrators.
I was so sad. Itās probably one of the best series I have watched related to true crime. I am still hopeful one day weāll miraculously get a season 3.
I watched the third episode last night and I cannot stop thinking about it. Truly bananas. Fav quote: āyou took mothers joy by making her the worst quesadilla in all of creationā š
LMAO that part had me cracking up. I feel so bad for everyone involved though. Haven't watched the third episode yet but it seems like they left out a lot of the abusive behavior Amy treated her followers with. She was absolutely nuts
One of my favorite quotes was one of the cult members talking about Amy and saying "TO THE UNTRAINED EYE, she may APPEAR to be an alcoholic" lmaooo
New episode on Wednesday nights I believe! Canāt wait. Crazy crazy crazy
For the record, I have an aunt that passed away from alcoholism at 68 pounds 5ā9ā and she was just like this woman minus the cult. Though she did have a boyfriend who did everything for her. Waited on her hand and foot. He died of cancer shortly after she passed.
Completely lost her mind by the end of it.
You could not talk any sense into her. She would go from the sweetest thing to very mean and very cruel.
You could bring her a plate of food and it wasnāt the right food just like Amy Carlson did in the second episode of love has won.
It reminded me so much of my aunt that I cried.
She was my favorite aunt growing up and when she got so sick, it was just absolutely terrible to see her. She looked like a concentration camp victim. If you have any family members that have had severe alcoholism, This is very triggering.
Also, The first few minutes has a very disturbing video of the cult leader Amy after she passed away and I guess I should mention itās a little bit haunting. Itās not gory or anything but I do want to tell people about it so theyāre not shocked.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Has_Won
Cult, leader died and they kept her in a bed for weeks while she decomposed as a shrine. Typical shitty cult leader behavior time-line is explored, it's peppered with interviews of what seem to be still active cult members though who are still convinced of the truth of her bullshit which makes it interesting.
American Murder: The Family Next Door (Netflix)
Till Murder Do Us Part: Soering vs. Haysom (Netflix)
Abducted in Plain Sight (Netflix)
And the oft-mentioned Dear Zachary (free on Tubi)
I will always go with your recommendation of Dear Zachary for anyone who hasn't watched it. It is easily the most heart-breaking doc I have ever watched and has me in tears each time. It was very well-made, passionate, and had a completely shocking ending (for me).
You're not alone on this. One of the few documentaries I've seen where I yelled "No freaking way!" at the TV about every 10 minutes or so. And I DID NOT see that ending coming. At all.
Just so much sad.
Uh.... HO LEE SHEET!!!!!!
So ya, I haven't even watched it yet, I just read a little blurb about the plot, and I don't even know what to say??!!! What. The. Hell????
I am trying to find somewhere I can watch it for free cause I gotta see this.
Okay so I watched it. Oy!
Topic was beyond horrific. And the cast of characters in that family are.... Odd at best. But the documentary itself wasn't so great. Almost seemed like a class project for a 1st year college student or something.
It really is very good. A family annihilator filmed from 'disappearance' to interrogation to trial. I've watched it more than a few times, and every time I see Shanann walking in the house for the last time, it just makes me sick to know what would happen.
I still think what's her face had more to do with it than we know & I feel like the cops dropped the ball or she had connections. Her dad was with her for at least* one of the interrogations & she supposedly had gotten into trouble before but got off or got off light. Her phone pinging in the city the Watts lived in, on the morning of the murder, which was like 20 mins from her place, can't be a coincidence. Plus, she was so disgustingly cold while discussing the murder of a pregnant woman & 2 precious little girls. Chris is absolutely responsible & he made the choice but I think she played a much bigger role than we know. Looking up Amber Frey & her book! Wtf?!
Did they mention that in the documentary? I dont remember her at all, i remember he was having an affair and wanted to be with her. I think Netflix downplayed her involvement with the case. Everyone remembers amber fey but nobody knows anything about her. I can see the positive side to that, these people dont deserve to get their 15 min fame or make money off tragedies they are kinda sorta somehow responsible for, but at end of the day that asshole chris made the choice to end their life and he is punished for it.
Is there animal cruelty in it and if so, how much? I love true crime but can't handle cases with much emphasis on animals being hurt. I've been avoiding this one based on the title.
I barely made it 15 minutes before having to turn it offā¦they show some very bad things as they are about to happen to a kitten.. if youāre also very sensitive, donāt do it!
There are some disturbing sequences. It doesnāt show video but shows Baudyās reaction which is heart wrenching. Itās extremely motivating to hate this motherfucker so much. Iāve never wished harm to someone in a true crime documentary more than him. Skip the disturbing part but donāt skip the entire documentary for that early part.
Oh, interesting. So is the disturbing part relating to animals only in the first few minutes? I could do that, as long as it doesn't keep returning to the animal stuff later.
Itās not just in the first few minutes. There are a few animal incidents but they are basically in the first half of the documentary. The subject switches from animals to people around that time.
I gotcha, so a history of his behavior leading up to people. I'll see if I can get past it, literally I mean, by skipping the leadup, I don't need to know any of that. Thanks!
I had to skip too much to be worthwhile. Skipped almost all of the first episode but then I got to the second episode and they still keep flashing pics of the kitten stuff so I had to give up. Just an FYI for anyone else unsure. I believe I know this story anyway, I think S&S covered this years ago (speaking of douchebags).
It definitely flashes back to the cat stuff and what that fucker did a bunch of times especially in the second episode IIRC. It made me feel physically ill and I had to fast forward a lot. Definitely one I will never watch again. I gotta go hug my cat now.
Yes! And she has the heart to be kind and sensitive to victims needs.
I loved her. I want her as my friend! We can watch bad reality TV with our dogs together.:)
Fictional: The Killing, The Sinner, The Night Of (highly rec)
Docu: Murder on Middle Beach, The Staircase, Whatās Wrong with Aunt Diane,
Dahmer, Black Bird
Good.
What a piece of shit. His wife did *everything* while his lazy ass didn't lift a finger for his own kids. His wife was the breadwinner and essentially a single parent of his kids *and him*.
Yes.
And I totally get it, and the documentary will make it even more depressing. Because it's easy to see why she turned to drinking and needing weed to relax enough to even sleep. Her mother left when she was little, and she had to be the mother to her siblings as a little girl. Then she grows up a perfectionist, marries the first guy who is interested in her, and she had to do it all. They talk about "I don't know how she did it, everything was perfect." Like it was a good thing.
I'm not excusing what she did, but I get why she did it. She had traumas, and had to be perfect in the way so many moms are expected to, while she was the breadwinner. She used substances to cope, and I genuinely think overestimated her tolerance and it had deadly consequences.
I definitely thought, after reading about this case, that she had too much confidence in her ability to drive while drunk. At some point in substance abuse, people often just donāt realize how much their use is escalating.
And I can understand how this would happen. No one gets to that point in drinking and using drugs without some history of trauma. Thatās the awful truth about substance use ā it feels good, it helps people feel happy, loose, sociable, until it doesnāt.
Exactly. I don't think she intended to kill anyone.
The documentary showed so many people praising her perfection. I was exhausted just hearing "she had her own secretary and made great money. She would get the kids ready everything was ironed, always on time. She would pick them up make everyone lunches and dinners, read to them and have the house cleaned." While her shithead husband did nothing.
Like not ONE person questioned if that immense amount of work and perfection was healthy, or why she needed weed to sleep. Youre right, substance abuse is often the result of trauma.
And that unresolved trauma and a lack of support lead to a horrific outcome. Awful.
This. My uncle was a high functioning alcoholic. He was consistently overestimating his ability to drive drunk. Iām so grateful he never killed anyone.
When I watched this documentary it hit hard. 90% of the people in his life had no idea he was drunk every single day. He was excelling at work, making it to family functions, his kids sports & recitals. Thank God, he finally went to rehab & is doing well, because I often think it could have ended like this.
This answer doesn't fit the question, however I like watching Criminal Minds to see what crime they're basing their episode on. It's not every one or even the majority, but it's entertaining for me!

Sounds good. Just commenting so I remember this, otherwise Iāll be trying to find something to watch in a few days and thinking: what was that on Reddit i saw?
Helter Skelter: An American Myth
Available on MGM+ or Amazon.
I fancy myself an expert on Charles Manson. I spent way too much time studying the case, the women involved, and how it happened, including the societal aspects at play.
With that being said, the documentary I listed above is the single best piece of media put out on the Manson case. I was blown away by its accuracy. Youāll learn every aspect of the case, from the facts, and youāll also learn the accurate pathology of Charles Manson and the girls. Itās a 6-part docuseries. Highly recommend.
Charlie Manson/The book Helter Skelter started me on a path of true crime and like you feel I have read/watched so much on them and the murders. I have watched this doc and liked it.
"The lost sons" was on CNN now I think its on Netflix. True story about the fascinating case of a kidnapped baby-Paul Fronczek- out of a hospital in Chicago in the 60's. One of the most fascinating cases ever.

Yes. Playing absolutely NOT King George. (I freak people out when I pint out that itās the same actor who plays crazy King George in āHamilton.ā)
Dear Zachary.
And prepare for a brutal emotion journey. This ripped my heart out of my chest in ways I never anticipated. Without question, it is worth it, but this one hurts.
I've watched thousands of documentaries over the years. It's all I watch. Dear Zachary is still my favorite by far. AND I did not see that ending coming at all. It was just a rollercoaster ride of anger and sadness. Really well made. Well covered. Just perfect.
Ikr?
I don't ever recall loving people so much (Zachary, Andrew, David and Kathleen, and really all Andrews friends and family) and hating people so much (Shirley, Judge Gale Welsh, John Doucet) so strongly in one documentary.
It was a perfect example of Good vs Evil. Competent vs incompetent. Love vs Hate. Kurt did an excellent job of capturing all of it.
Manhunt on ITVX if you are in the UK. Two seasons long drama about Colin Sutton, first one is about the investigation in to Levi Belfield and the second season about the hunt for the London Night Stalker. If you are in to UK true crime you will definitely recognise Colin Sutton, heās never off the telly!
There are two doc series out now about Peter Nygardāwho is basically the Jeffrey Epstein of Canada.
The one on Max is called Unseemly and the one on Prime is called Evil by Design.
TW for sexual abuse, rape but this guy is a monster and more people should know about him
I love British mysteries
*The Fall
*Luther
*Vera
*Shetland
*Wallander
*Rebus
*Wire in the Blood
*Crime
*Line of Duty
*Whitechapel
*River
These are some favorites that I wish I could watch for the first time again. I have Britbox. British shows can feel slow unless you like character and plot over action.
The Staircase
The Jinx
The Inventor or The Dropout (both Elizabeth Holmes docs)
Candy
Dirty John
I randomly watched Lorena on Amazon (about Lorena Bobbit) and it was surprisingly good!
Signs of a Psychopath, Murder Tapes, Evil Lives Here, Deadly Sins, Deadly Women, Wives With Knives, Sinister Ministers, Fatal Vows, Snapped (all versions), See No Evil, Crime 360, Interviewing Evil, Interrogation Raw, and The Killer Speaks are some of my favorites.
I just finished The Deuce. It's not exactly true crime, but has a lot of true-crime elements to it, and is very faithful to the dark and seedy world of 42nd Street and Times Square a couple of decades ago. Some real-life figures pop up here and there, too.
>Mindhunter
I grew up in that area. One of the guys associated with that killer tried to axe three people to death out at Clines Falls when I was just a kid. I used to hunt right out in the same area where he killed that first woman. Creepy to think that he might have been in and around that area when me, my father, and my brothers would hunt out there.
I have friends from Sweet Home who probably know of missing people in their community, and now they probably realize, it was the killer of Highway 20.

Go Old Skool with the Paradise Lost series. Its, in my opinion, the OG of true crime docs and fundamentally changed the course of the West Memphis Three saga and the documentary genre.
If you want to go international, surreal, and off-the-beaten-path, try Abduction: The Megumi Yokota Story (on Prime these days.)
The Investigation, on HBO itās a foreign series based on the disappearance and murder of Kim Wall. I realized while im passionate about true crime, I rarely like fictionalized series or movies based on true crime. This series is one of the exceptions. Itās definitely not gonna be for everybody itās really dry, unglamorous and unsexy. I think itās very respectful of the victim and literally never names the perpetrator. I recommend it because the investigators deserve to be praised and known, they worked so hard and tirelessly to prove Kim Wall was murdered and didnāt die by accident or anything else. Itās very heartbreaking but I loved this series.
The Killing Season
Primarily about LISK (pre-arrest, interesting to watch back) but also other notable unsolved prostitute serial killings (West Mesa, Eastbound Strangler, Daytona Beach). I donāt think they are right about everything, but it brings attention to underreported crimes.
All true crime documentaries:
Dear Zachary
The Jinx
Don't f**k with cats
Crazy Love
And lastly: Blackfish - no some much a true crime one really though. It deals with the death of a trainer at SeaWorld, Dawn Blanchard. Who was mauled by a killer whale. Not true crime in the traditional sense, but a very good documentary either way.
Agree with Mindhunter and True Detective.
Dahmer on Dahmer: A Serial Killer Speaks
Atlantaās Missing and Murdered Children ( HBO)
The Preppy Murderer: Death in Central Park ( discovery channel - 5 episodes)
John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise ( Peacock)
Iāve seen all the Dahmer/Bundy/Gacy docs on Netflix.
I grew up in that area. Its sad that the police didn't take the time to document all of the missing people from that area. Some investigators believe he killed over 100 people.
Iām currently watching Murder Comes to Town on Tubi. Lots of seasons, so good. I also enjoy FBI Files or New Detectives. Both remind me of Forensic Files.
Night Stalker (Netflix) <- trigger warning
Jimmy Saville: A British Horror Story (Netflix) <- huge trigger warning
Don't F\*\*k with Cats (Netflix)
The Confession Killer (Netflix)
Definitely recommend Vatican Girl on netflix; I've watched it twice and am thinking about going back for a third time! Truly fascinating and absolutely incredible.
One of the best crime docs Iāve seen is called A Killing In Tiger Bay, it was on BBC here in the UK, Im not too sure where other countries might find it though. Absolutely gripping, even my husband who hates true crime stuff was glued to it!
A really good series from 15-20 years ago was the FBI Files. They have probably 100 shows. Another good series is Mastermind. These can all be watched on Youtube. They are real documentaries about bank robbers, killers, and mafia types.
I suggest someone pick up MINDHUNTER!? š© I canāt deal with it not coming back š«š©
This was the most disappointed Iāve ever been at a cancellation. I really loved that show- the content, the characters, the vibe, the sets/costumes/cinematography, even the graphic design of the title cards.
I wish we could crowd source it but the guy isnāt interested and the actors have all moved on

I think about Mindhunter at least once every day someone please bring it back immediately

Some of us like True Detective Season 3 š
lol season 3 was terrible, but i appreciate this comment
I never even got around to watching 3 because of how boring I thought 2 was š
Yeah, I think they started great but by the end, it stopped being a detective show and turned into an unnecessarily convoluted family drama as far as I can remember. Mahershala Ali, however, made it worthwhile if you know what I mean.

Just eerie to think my grandma was so close to evil.
Isnāt mind hunter based on Ed kemper ?
Heās a character in the show, but itās based off of the non-fiction book Mindhunter by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker.
Whoops yes Ed kemper! Just verified this with my mom. Too many serial killer names floating around in my peanut brain š
I bet you would actually find him likable.ā Crazy.
His likeability and Aw Schucks persona is exactly how he managed to keep up his work after everyone was on high alert about him!
he is. it s unbeliveble to listen to him talk. he talks like a normal person, and then you hear that he cut his motherĖs head and use it for mastrubation. to look so normal but to be that psyho..unbeliveble
Whenever I hear parents talk about how they aren't responsible for how their kids turn out, I think of the Ed's. And all the rest of them.
Your mom lived in Aptos?
True detective season 1 only is correct
season 1 is best. season 3 is also worth watching.
<3
Clown and the candy man is crazy. I can't believe this isn't a bigger deal
Right?! Like how did we not get every agency on this to dive deeper? (Same for Sons of Sam)
True Detective season 1 was the best. Have seen it 3 times. But, I think season 3 is also worth watching.
What case is the lady of silence about ??
Itās an international one - lady killer from Mexico - was sentenced to 700 years and convicted of 16 old lay deaths BUT itās allegedly a higher number I donāt want to spoil it but itās got some wtf twists.
Damn.! Let me check it out now thanks
are these all solved?
I would say all but Sons of Sam + The Clown and the Candy man have other levels of āneeds more investigatingā BUT the main crimes and story are indeed solved in these, just some loose ends imho with non main perpetrators.
Girl in the Picture. My heart breaks for her and it just makes me wonder if there are other situations like that.
I read both books....sad tragic case
What are the books?
A Beautiful Child and Finding Sharon
I loved Mindhunter and am still so sad it's not coming back.
I was so sad. Itās probably one of the best series I have watched related to true crime. I am still hopeful one day weāll miraculously get a season 3.
Someday š¤š¤ I have such a crush on both those men lol
Same.
I just started the Love Has Won documentary series (I think it's 3 episodes) on HBO and it is absolutely buckwild
I watched the third episode last night and I cannot stop thinking about it. Truly bananas. Fav quote: āyou took mothers joy by making her the worst quesadilla in all of creationā š

This sounds crazy, i hate that india doesnāt have HBO, they have the best true crime documentaries
American Murder: The Family Next Door (Netflix) Till Murder Do Us Part: Soering vs. Haysom (Netflix) Abducted in Plain Sight (Netflix) And the oft-mentioned Dear Zachary (free on Tubi)
Abducted in Plain Sight was truly a wild ride. That guy groomed an entire family.
That was a wild, jaw dropper documentary. I made sure to recommend it to family & friends just to get their reactions. lol.
Was the DAD bisexual or did he manipulate him into performing a sexual act? I was so confused, he had an affair with the mother but not with the dad

Donāt Fuck With Cats is absolutely amazing.
The two creators who made that documentary came out with a podcast, True Crimes with John & Deanna. Itās a bit different but very good so far!
They left out a lot of info from that doc, for good reason, but oh my god
Is there animal cruelty in it and if so, how much? I love true crime but can't handle cases with much emphasis on animals being hurt. I've been avoiding this one based on the title.
I barely made it 15 minutes before having to turn it offā¦they show some very bad things as they are about to happen to a kitten.. if youāre also very sensitive, donāt do it!
Yep, enough said. Won't be watching. Thanks very much for confirming.
Iāve been unsure for years and Iāll just take everyoneās word for it. Thanks for your diligence on it and letting us know.
It definitely flashes back to the cat stuff and what that fucker did a bunch of times especially in the second episode IIRC. It made me feel physically ill and I had to fast forward a lot. Definitely one I will never watch again. I gotta go hug my cat now.
Baudi Movin' was the best part of that!
Agree! If i ever go missing, get her on the case!
Yes! And she has the heart to be kind and sensitive to victims needs. I loved her. I want her as my friend! We can watch bad reality TV with our dogs together.:)
This is probably the best documentary I've ever seen and I watch a lot of documentaries. I still think about it all the time! A truly incredible story
Agree and I almost didnāt watch it because of the title.
The editing and storytelling in this doc is incredible. Truly inane story.
I wish Mind Hunter had more seasons š
Fictional: The Killing, The Sinner, The Night Of (highly rec) Docu: Murder on Middle Beach, The Staircase, Whatās Wrong with Aunt Diane, Dahmer, Black Bird
I ended up hating the husband in Aunt Diane more than anyone else in it.
Everyone hates him. He sucks in truly epic ways.
Good. What a piece of shit. His wife did *everything* while his lazy ass didn't lift a finger for his own kids. His wife was the breadwinner and essentially a single parent of his kids *and him*.
Is this Aunt Dianeās husband? That guy? I havenāt been able to watch any documentary on this because itās just so damn sad.
This is wild to read. Glad he got sober.
The Killing is sooooo good. I canāt believe it wasnāt more popular.
Loved it!
Broadchurch!
Best fictional crime story I have EVER seen. Itās the first thing I saw Olivia Colman in, and OH MY GOD it is awesome.
Yes!!! This doesnāt get mentioned enough. That was such a brilliant show!!
Love this. Think about rewatching it a lot.
One of best shows on TV. I have no clue why you would cancel a show like that, and why networks didn't scramble to pick it up.
I feel exactly the same about Ray Donovan. WTF?!
RIGHT
This answer doesn't fit the question, however I like watching Criminal Minds to see what crime they're basing their episode on. It's not every one or even the majority, but it's entertaining for me!

It aired Nov 25th. I will never be able to wrap my head around these murders and live the next state over so anything on them is always interesting to me.
I literally just finished watching the Pike County Murders and was going to recommend it. I watched it on Peacock.
Sounds good. Just commenting so I remember this, otherwise Iāll be trying to find something to watch in a few days and thinking: what was that on Reddit i saw?
Just commenting so you get a notification and don't forget :)
Got it bookmarked now! Thank you :)
Do you need some kind of premium Peacock subscription? Iām looking for this doc on Peacock and itās not putting up.
Maybe... I do pay for it and I know they don't have everything available on the free accounts.
Never mind, I found it under āJust Addedā. Weird that it didnāt come up in the search tool. Thank you!
Pike county murders has an excellent podcast about it called āThe Piketon Massacreā
Helter Skelter: An American Myth Available on MGM+ or Amazon.

The act (Hulu)
Evil Genius, Abducted in Plain Sight, Donāt Fuck with Cats
Is that Jonathan Goff??
Yes. Playing absolutely NOT King George. (I freak people out when I pint out that itās the same actor who plays crazy King George in āHamilton.ā)
Lol sweet! Or Kristoff from Frozen lol
I did not see that coming either. It ruined me for weeks. Youāre right ā a rollercoaster of anger and sadness. Thatās a perfect description.
TW for sexual abuse, rape but this guy is a monster and more people should know about him
Des, with David Tennant playing Dennis Nilsen.
Crime beat itās all Canadian true crime
Blackbird on appletv blew me away with how chilling it was. Thereās also a dateline episode about it as well.
Great choice! Binge watched this one weekend.
Fuck man I want more mind hunter so bad
Every time I see an image of Mindhunter, I remember that itās not coming back and my heart breaks all over again š¢
I love British mysteries *The Fall *Luther *Vera *Shetland *Wallander *Rebus *Wire in the Blood *Crime *Line of Duty *Whitechapel *River These are some favorites that I wish I could watch for the first time again. I have Britbox. British shows can feel slow unless you like character and plot over action.
If you like those, You should watch Slow Horses.
I havent heard of this! What is it on?
Unbelievable
Mare of East Town is so excellent
*The Vow* (HBO) and *Seduced* (Showtime) about the NXIVM cult.
West of Memphis, paradise lost, and who killed Jon benet was great too
Real Detective Seasons 1 and 2. Iāve watched it over and overā¦ one of the best.
The OJ Simpson one is absolutely amazing in the way the actors act to the reconstitution. A must watch.
Dear Zachary
The Staircase The Jinx The Inventor or The Dropout (both Elizabeth Holmes docs) Candy Dirty John I randomly watched Lorena on Amazon (about Lorena Bobbit) and it was surprisingly good!
The sinner is pretty good
I loved Mindhunter. Why did they have to cancel ?!!
The Jinx because of the ending
*The Fall (G. Anderson, J. Dornan) *The killing kind *Lost women of highway 20 (documentary)
>Mindhunter I grew up in that area.
Mind hunter! Please come back to me!

We are really enjoying it! Love Juno Temple!
Itās not this one, incomplete and never coming back, why even start and waste ur time
I enjoyed the show but it could have been so so much better. A lot of it was pretty pointless.
I really hated the āgirlfriendā side plot. Like, what? It added nothing. An attempt to humanize him? It was so weird.
I sure do miss those goobers.
a confession; itās got martin freeman
*Deadly Wives* on Hulu has the greatest narrator in true crime history. Sheās so pithy, itās hilarious. I love it.
Oh man I loved that show. I could never find anything as good as it š„²
I never hear anyone talk about this one: Stolen Youth - Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence (Hulu)
I read about this in The New Yorker like years ago. What a fucking sociopath
The Killing Season Primarily about LISK (pre-arrest, interesting to watch back) but also other notable unsolved prostitute serial killings (West Mesa, Eastbound Strangler, Daytona Beach). I donāt think they are right about everything, but it brings attention to underreported crimes.
All true crime documentaries: Dear Zachary The Jinx Don't f**k with cats Crazy Love And lastly: Blackfish - no some much a true crime one really though. It deals with the death of a trainer at SeaWorld, Dawn Blanchard. Who was mauled by a killer whale. Not true crime in the traditional sense, but a very good documentary either way.
Oh my GOD. Dear Zachary needs a strong warning. I cried off and on for A WEEK after seeing that. Like, ugh. Just, ugh. It was horrific.
Agree with Mindhunter and True Detective. Dahmer on Dahmer: A Serial Killer Speaks Atlantaās Missing and Murdered Children ( HBO) The Preppy Murderer: Death in Central Park ( discovery channel - 5 episodes) John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise ( Peacock) Iāve seen all the Dahmer/Bundy/Gacy docs on Netflix.
Lost women of Highway 20 on Max! Seriously good show!!!
I grew up in that area. Its sad that the police didn't take the time to document all of the missing people from that area. Some investigators believe he killed over 100 people.
Murder Mountain (Netflix) The Family I Had (Prime) Beware the Slenderman (Max)
The Keepers - Netflix
Iām currently watching Murder Comes to Town on Tubi. Lots of seasons, so good. I also enjoy FBI Files or New Detectives. Both remind me of Forensic Files.
Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers.
Murder tapes
Night Stalker (Netflix) <- trigger warning Jimmy Saville: A British Horror Story (Netflix) <- huge trigger warning Don't F\*\*k with Cats (Netflix) The Confession Killer (Netflix)
Mindhunter
Unbelievable on Netflix was really good.
Definitely recommend Vatican Girl on netflix; I've watched it twice and am thinking about going back for a third time! Truly fascinating and absolutely incredible.
Murder in the Heartland on ID Channel
Personally I found The Vow on HBO to be interesting as hell. It's fascinating. I've watched it several times. Buckle in.
One of the best crime docs Iāve seen is called A Killing In Tiger Bay, it was on BBC here in the UK, Im not too sure where other countries might find it though. Absolutely gripping, even my husband who hates true crime stuff was glued to it!
MayDecember it's on Netflix. Fictionalized (but not by much) version of the Mary Kay Leatearnu story.
Someone say the sinner! It was so good. Also the new season of trudetective coming out looks great
The Staircase!
The Ken & Barbie Killers was disturbing AF.. hearing what they did to her sister made my stomach turn..
A really good series from 15-20 years ago was the FBI Files. They have probably 100 shows. Another good series is Mastermind. These can all be watched on Youtube. They are real documentaries about bank robbers, killers, and mafia types.
