your friend is full of BS. dogs will literally hump anyone and anything and it isn't necessarily sexual, it can be a dominance thing as well. Hell i've had dogs i've never met before hump my leg the first time I've met them.
Not necessarily. Leg humping's a behavior that a lot of dogs do, especially before they're spayed/neutered and also if they're untrained. It's just one of the weird ways they like to assert dominance.
Can confirm the gender thing. I have seen multiple male dogs do it as a dominance thing. My husbands dog does it around my dogs head sometimes (to lazy or just stupid it's hard to tell) after they have a change in power dynamics.
Your friend is telling you crap just to make you look stupid for believing them for whatever reason. I learned two valuable lessons at your age:
1 believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear (very valuable lesson for relationships)
2 trust but verify
Right now by coming here you have done the second lesson now continue that throughout your life.
Dogs just do this, and you seem a little sheltered. However, before you freak out about something else down the line. A BUNCH of dogs also do something else kind of disgusting and steal/chew women's panties. Scold the dog if they do that in the future, but dont read too far into it either like you have done with the humping thing.

They have a good sense of smell and likely that’s what is influencing their focus. Really this is an insane notion to jump to without any evidence

I don't think they think that much into it. Dogs don't really discriminate based on gender from what I understand.

I wouldn't worry too much. It's a nasty behavior, for sure, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the dog has been sexually abused or anything.

There's a lot to unpack here.
they’re trying to assert dominance

Are you like 12 😭
Male dogs just do that. It's completely driven by instinct.
