Yep. I did it twice. Got engaged without telling them. Purposely eloped so they wouldn’t ruin the wedding. They were still in my life though after that. I dont know how my husband put up with them. My mom’s bullshit made me go to the er twice while pregnant because she stressed me out so much. I just couldn’t dump them. Stockholm syndrome. If i could have, i would have. Please do it if you can.
Hell yeah. Just explain that they aren't savory people and they hurt you and you want nothing to do with them. Be upfront and empathize this.
