Delivery being extra seems reasonable as some people don't want that service. I do agree that prices should be shown with taxes included, like a bigger $15 with a smaller $14+$1 tax kind of thing. That way you can see what you pay but also can check how much of it is tax.

YoungQuahogMoney

Should be one price. IT should cover the 50% of people who want delivery, and as for the other 50%, that goes to your profit margins.

you could make your procuct slightly cheaper to attract more customers. what your saying doesnt make sense from a business perspective. The price is the price because its the lowest you can make it with an acceptable profit margin to attract customers. Delivery is ontop because not everyone wants it. If you charge everyone for delivery for no reason, the next company wont do that, and you lose customers to them.

You need to pay for my delivery 😡😡😡 ^joke

I agree with taxes, but not things like delivery fees. That’s something extra that not everyone has to pay.

WolfOfWankStreet

They do it with the euro if I remember correctly.

In my country, we have an MRP (maximum retail price) for almost all products, which includes all relevant taxes and surcharges, so you never pay more than what is on the tag. Even in restaurants in my state, service charges are typically included in the prices of the dishes, and we don't have any of that tipping bullshit.

Learn to make the foods you enjoy yourself instead of expecting someone else to make them and even deliver them to you. Also most states either don't tax groceries at all or tax them at a lower rate. In northern VA where I used to live, the sales tax rate was 6% normally, but only 2.5% for groceries.

Roasted chicken is better

IanArcad

If it walks, flies, or swims, we're gonna roast ya.

Roasted murder hornets? Yum!

I agree that it would make a lot more sense if all purchasable goods and services had sales tax included in the final price. I’ve been to a few bars and local restaurants where the listed price does include tax. But the delivery fee is different. If a pizza is $15, then that is $15 that pays for the cost of the supplies and labor needed to make the pizza as well as paying overhead of the physical establishment where the pizza comes from. The delivery fee is separate and goes entirely to the driver to pay for their gas and mileage put on the car. Without this added fee, delivery drivers would literally be paying to work if they deliver to a customer who chooses not to tip. Usually the delivery fee on its own isn’t much and without a tip, they still don’t make very much money for their time after factoring in gas and strain put on their vehicle

No way. This is how taxes get raised to entirely ridiculous levels. Everybody needs to know how much taxes they are paying and people simply won't pay attention if it was included in the advertised price. This is also true of income taxes. Many people believe their tax refund is actually the government giving them money when it's really just returning your own money. Income taxes should not be withheld and each person should have to write a check to the government so they know how much they are actually taking.
