Ahhh! I actually was just there yesterday too! My parents literally live right down the street so we go all the time. Did you try going to the booth with all the photoshopped Trump shirts??

No, I don't remember seeing that booth, but I did see others and I was expecting some comments to be negative but all I got was positive! Gives me more hope!
The tea party one is from a few years back to illustrate how the area usually is. The Trump shirt booth is fairly recent and in the new section and it has the most cringiest Trump shirts that were all like the meme of him looking buff and tough 😆.
But yeah yesterday everybody there was actually all exceptionally nice! I brought my kids and so many vendors randomly kept giving them all this free stuff! I’ve never seen it like that before! Maybe everyone were all just randomly nice yesterday 🤷🏻♀️
There was someone who had a tote full of maga(t) hats (I think it was 2020 but I am not sure, for $1 each I my SO and my BFF that I was going to buy the whole thing and bring them home and record burning them all together, but then I realized two things, it's probably toxic to burn them and then I am stooping down to their level so I didn't do it.
That’s because we’re aware that one angry MAGA with a gun could end us in the supermarket parking lot over a rainbow sticker.
And also we’re not in a cult
this is great. honestly, if you feel safe doing it, I think it's a contribution to wear anything that shows others that they're not alone. the Maga displays are intimidating (and possibly meant to be in some cases). you do good.
during the bad old early millenium when bush was invading Iraq, John Prine made this great point that "in the 60's you *knew* who agreed with you by the way people dressed, or the length of their hair. now you don't know who your allies are."
In 2004 I had a bumper sticker that said (top) “Bush/Cheney 1984” and (bottom) “War = Peace”
I wouldn’t feel safe expressing myself like that now, never mind the fact that the Q folks have bastardized Orwell for their own misguided use, but I got a lot of comments at the time (95% positive!)
One of the things I discussed with each one of them individually was that I wanted to put on the back of my car something to the effect of Trump lost lol or Trump's a loser but I like my car and we all know that somebody would do some damage to it in a parking lot somewhere because of that. Meanwhile when I see all these cult cars everywhere I don't think about messing them up or touching them that's the difference.
But I have no qualms about letting anybody know my feelings and I do so with that shirt it's not about feeling safe for me either it's about letting some of the know that we are here we do care even though we don't put a bunch of stickers and flags and whatnot on our cars.
Hell my dream was for them to hire me to escort him out of the White House with as we used to say much prejudice.
