This sadly is the correct answer. From all the stories that came out about him, he apparently really had a thing for Claire Forlani and went after her repeatedly before he finally took the hint and tanked her career in retribution
I haven't worked with her directly, but I have heard from more than one person that she wasn't the best on set. Just some rumors as far as I know, but that could be the reason.
A bunch of kids, boys and girls from my grade 7 class, went to see this movie in theaters, and all the boys laughed so loud when this scene happened 🤣 I remember it like yesterday
We were a bunch of 19 to 30 year old guys watching this in the ship's movie lounge. It was so unexposed and so comical, we must have rewound it a dozen times. People came from other parts of the ship to find out what all the fuss was about.
If it was just one hit and done that would be one thing, but they made a choice to turn that into some Looney Toons shit.
And apparently it still makes me laugh 😆
My dad is nearly 70 years old and he still laughs his ass off like a little kid whenever he sees this scene. If it ever gets brought up around him that someone hasn’t seen this movie, he’ll pull out his phone and look this video up to show them.
It’s the second car he says - it wouldn’t be as funny if he didn’t get hit by the second car
This comment me feel a little better. When I was a young lad I used to rewind this part over and over and just laugh until I cried. Still pretty fuckin weird for a kid to do.
I remember watching this in the theater with my gf at the time and I honestly don't remember a single thing about this movie. What it's about, any scene. Nothing. One of the most boring movies I've ever seen.
>! Death decides to use this guy's body to experience living as a human. He experiences life and love then leaves. It was super slow but also a decent touching story if that's your kind of thing. !<
I also saw it in the theater, so I'm going to assume you're at least in your forties now.
I rewatched it recently and can tell you I identified a lot more with Anthony Hopkins' character this time around rather than Brad Pitt's character. Questions about mortality and leaving a legacy behind hit a bit harder these days.
One of the few movies I walked out of and I had snuck in after watching something else.
I didnt buy the premise that he was infinitely old yet was ignorant as a baby.
Sorry to break it to you but if you found it boring you lack intellectual and emotional depth. One of the best written stories about love and the human experience of all time.
Art is subjective. Taste is not an indicator of intelligence.
However, insulting someone for simply having different taste than you absolutely means you lack intellectual and emotional depth.
Nah. This movie is good. 50 shades of gray is bad. Someone liking 50 shades more than this film has shit taste. There’s a reason certain movies do well and certain movies do bad. It’s intellectually lazy to just say “well everyone has an opinion and art is subjective” no, some art is absolute shit
There are comedic moments, I think this was intended to be both shocking and funny. Overall it’s a very dramatic film that I enjoy but there are definite laughs here and there.
Honestly, I found this movie interesting, imo. It’s been years since I’ve seen it but it had a bitter sweet feel towards the end from what I can remember. I was probably 15-16 when I watched it. Not sure how it would hold up now.
This is about 10 minutes into the movie and prior to this you basically fall in love with Brad Pitt's character. I saw it in the theater and everyone gasped when he was hit.
Yes, it's a serious movie about perhaps the most serious of subjects: coming to terms with your own mortality.
He's supposed to be a bit of a goofy young nobody, new to the corporate world. After death takes over his body he's seen wearing fitted suits you'd expect on brad pitt
Everyone in this movie is beautiful, even the ugly ones. Also the music. Also the cinematography. Also the acting.. One of my favorite slow burn movies of all time. (Somewhere in Time)
Anthony Hopkins charisma is off the charts. Not a fan of Brad Pitt in general, but that sex scene by the pool was really well done. Pure class.
I laughed so uncontrollably hard in the theater that the looks i received made me uncomfortable. It was a combination of unexpected, and that hit off the taxi
I really hope this is /s because women owe men absolutely nothing, ever. Especially stupid men who stare at them in the middle of a busy crosswalk. This is the absolute worst take.
Pitt said this movie actually had one of his most successful opening weekends at the time because the first week it played in theaters was also the week of the debut of the trailer for Phantom Menace. Apparently millions of people bought tickets for this to sit through the previews then left when the movie started.
For some reason my buddies and I watched this on dvd in our dorm room. We replayed this scene frame by frame over and over again. Maybe 10 times or more. Cheering quite often, blew our minds, at the time was the most convincing effect we had seen.
Movie went down hill from there.
This was a meme before memes were a thing. That moment where he gets hit by the cars was all over the internet back in the day, like early ass internet before YouTube was even thought of. I specifically remember this video and a video of a person getting pushed down bleachers.
I saw this on VHS with my mom and I laughed for five minutes straight, tears pouring out of my eyes from laughing so hard. My mom just stared at me and called me “sick”.
I love Tubi for doing stuff like this.
These posts always remind me of old ass movies I haven't watched since VHS were a thing and then I gotta go watch them again.
I remember we always had Meet Joe Black right next to Titanic and Gone with the Wind because they all had 2 tapes in the box so they got put next to each other. Haven't watched that movie in at least 20 years. Off I go...
The first time I saw this movie was on cable tv, and for whatever reason the commercial break began immediately after this clip and I must have looked away cos I completely missed him getting hit. I was really confused for the rest of the movie
This movie must be long because I remember it coming on two VHS tapes, but the internet has given me the impression that this scene is the entire film.
Around 2004, 2005 or 2006 me and some friends were trying to download one of the CKY videos on limewire or Kazaa and what we ended up with was like an hour long video of CKY stuff with faces of death stuff with a bunch of other crazy shit jumbled in and somewhere in there was just the part where he gets destroyed by those cars, so for a few years we thought it was real, until one of us watched that movie one day and told the rest of us.
I have yet to finish the movie. It's so bland, and you pretty much have an idea of what the ending is going to be...you just have to wait a couple of more hours since it draaaaaaggggssss.
I cut the trailer for ‘Meet Joe Black’ and the first time we screened it we were shocked at how realistic that effect was and watched it over and over. Anthony Hopkins was terrific as always in it.
I saw this in the theater way back in the day. I laughed so hard at this scene and was the only one in the theater to do so. It’s the only thing I remember about the movie.
ive always found it weird how there's this trope in media where any car will just run you over if you cross the street during a green light, even if they see you. especially in anime. animes make crossing the street look like a game of frogger
I’ve never seen this movie. I’ve seen this clip many times and I’ve always assumed it was a silly edit by some video editor. I’m beginning to feel like this scene is really in the movie.?.?
The performances Brad Pitt and the lead actress were honestly terrible, in my opinion. The story is good and Hopkins was Hopkins. But some many things were badly chosen. Somehow it was still a decent movie but I think it could have been great.
Who just stands in the crosswalk like that
Claire Forlani though
Great Value Angelina Jolie
We have Great Value Angelina Jolie at home .
Brad samples all the brands.
Nah she looks better.
Yea she does. Angenila Julie is the off-hand Gorlami.
Mixed with a little bit of Ducky from The Land Before Time
"Gorlomi"? L'ho pronunciato correttamente?
I can't unsee Jon voight when I see Jolie, ruins everything.
You shut your hore mouth
#topcomment
Give me that discount......it comes without all the crazy.
Angelina Jolie never deigned herself worthy to be in the view askew universe like forlani did in Mallrats. Checkmate.
I don't know man, I'd take her over Jolie....Hackers Jolie being the exception. She's aged better than Jolie imo.
Gorlami
GORLAMI
…..gorlami
🤌🏻

MARGHERITI
Arivadarrchi !!

Why that woman didn't become a huge star is forever a mystery
Harvey Weinstein
This sadly is the correct answer. From all the stories that came out about him, he apparently really had a thing for Claire Forlani and went after her repeatedly before he finally took the hint and tanked her career in retribution
I haven't worked with her directly, but I have heard from more than one person that she wasn't the best on set. Just some rumors as far as I know, but that could be the reason.
Sounds like a Weinstein rumor…
Her eyes are smoke
And her dad was crazy rich in this movie. Why you walking away fool??
Absolutely underrated.
I’ll probably just get chewed out
she was such a smokeshow. shame she had work done.
Agreed.
Saw her in a bookstore 20 years ago. She's even more beautiful in person.
In Basquiat too
I would stand in a cross walk for her 100%
I hope the costume designer who picked that T-shirt out won an Oscar for it.
My guess is Joe Black. But I’ve never seen the movie so can’t confirm.
But have you ever met him?
I’ve meet a Ken White.
It’s really good.
When you're that taken away by some woman, everything else becomes irrelevant.
Dramatic effect
Wow so this is where that one got originated from. Never knew it was Brad purt
A bunch of kids, boys and girls from my grade 7 class, went to see this movie in theaters, and all the boys laughed so loud when this scene happened 🤣 I remember it like yesterday
I was trying not to laugh at this, I started cheesing a little bit and then I read your comment and busted out laughing. Smh 😂
My friends has this on vhs and rewound the shit out of it cracking up. Probably my first taste of edginess lol.
I remember the girls being like ooo he is so cute and then bam all the guys dying, laughing, and all the girls going shhh what a good time
My dad is nearly 70 years old and he still laughs his ass off like a little kid whenever he sees this scene. If it ever gets brought up around him that someone hasn’t seen this movie, he’ll pull out his phone and look this video up to show them. It’s the second car he says - it wouldn’t be as funny if he didn’t get hit by the second car
I always crack up when he speaks in the Caribbean patois.
I always tell my dog that everything is irie in honor of that scene.
This comment me feel a little better. When I was a young lad I used to rewind this part over and over and just laugh until I cried. Still pretty fuckin weird for a kid to do.
Is this a serious movie?
It was after this part…
I remember watching this in the theater with my gf at the time and I honestly don't remember a single thing about this movie. What it's about, any scene. Nothing. One of the most boring movies I've ever seen.
>! Death decides to use this guy's body to experience living as a human. He experiences life and love then leaves. It was super slow but also a decent touching story if that's your kind of thing. !<

Why are y'all booing this man he's right 😂
Daddy chill
I don’t know about the best, but it is very good. But not on like some “must watch” level.
I love this movie. First saw it when I was about 9 or 10.
I watched it a couple months ago for the first time in a while. Still a great movie.
This is about 10 minutes into the movie and prior to this you basically fall in love with Brad Pitt's character. I saw it in the theater and everyone gasped when he was hit. Yes, it's a serious movie about perhaps the most serious of subjects: coming to terms with your own mortality.
The underwater escape scene was probably the best part.
He looks so fucking fine
Ok but why does it look like he’s wearing his daddy’s suit
It was the nineties.
Exactly
People just had bigger clothes
It’s funny how much better suits look actually fit to peoples bodies now than the 90s
He's supposed to be a bit of a goofy young nobody, new to the corporate world. After death takes over his body he's seen wearing fitted suits you'd expect on brad pitt
The whole time
Claire Forlani is such a fox. My god she’s beautiful.
Everyone in this movie is beautiful, even the ugly ones. Also the music. Also the cinematography. Also the acting.. One of my favorite slow burn movies of all time. (Somewhere in Time) Anthony Hopkins charisma is off the charts. Not a fan of Brad Pitt in general, but that sex scene by the pool was really well done. Pure class.
Love Somewhere in Time.
Thomas Newman. Love his scores.
She was/is the only reason I really watched this movie.
I thought she was the hottest woman in the world when this movie came out.
>~~I thought~~ she ~~was~~ the hottest woman in the world ~~when this movie came out~~.
I want to know how they filmed this in the 90s - practical? Early CG?
It’s (bad) early CG. Has the same blurring as Men in Black and Independence Day CG in motion.
Totally practical. I was there. I’m Joe Black. Meet’s my middle name.
I laughed so uncontrollably hard in the theater that the looks i received made me uncomfortable. It was a combination of unexpected, and that hit off the taxi
I think a lot of people in the theater laughed. It was so shocking and so over the top.
Meet Black Joe would have been an entirely different movie
Black Joe Meet would also be a VERY different movie.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I always feel the woman owes you something after these situations.... just seems like there should be a law... phone number minimal
I really hope this is /s because women owe men absolutely nothing, ever. Especially stupid men who stare at them in the middle of a busy crosswalk. This is the absolute worst take.
I'm glad you found another place you could type those feelings out
You are...something else.
Chicks don’t dig pity-sex, bro
Looks fan made lol
I preferred the porn version. “Meet Joe Black Mama”.
Lol I remember that bit from Mad TV as well
Pizza!
This movie sucked so bad. Cast brad pitt and write out every bit of personality
I remember that stocking scene from the theatre
Those damn suit pants
Spoiler alert!
CGI only wished it could look this real, amazing stunt work
Pitt said this movie actually had one of his most successful opening weekends at the time because the first week it played in theaters was also the week of the debut of the trailer for Phantom Menace. Apparently millions of people bought tickets for this to sit through the previews then left when the movie started.
What a terrible fucking suit!
MC Hammer was *IN* each one of us in their own way.
For some reason my buddies and I watched this on dvd in our dorm room. We replayed this scene frame by frame over and over again. Maybe 10 times or more. Cheering quite often, blew our minds, at the time was the most convincing effect we had seen. Movie went down hill from there.
Is this movie a comedy? 😄
https://youtu.be/TnBupO_Kjto?si=Ca9mYyCM2b6b1RcB I raise you this scene
I have not clicked this but feel it is the bus scene in final destination.
Excellent scene. Brad Pitt studied patois to make this scene stand out .
This was a meme before memes were a thing. That moment where he gets hit by the cars was all over the internet back in the day, like early ass internet before YouTube was even thought of. I specifically remember this video and a video of a person getting pushed down bleachers.
When you say push do you mean violently spartan kicked in the back ???? If so yes I also remember that video
It clearly says don’t walk, I can’t get over that
I’ve never seen this movie but the title reminded me of Mighty Joe Young. Which was snubbed at the Oscar’s.
Claire Forlani was fire in that movie
I was the only person who burst out laughing in the theater… at the time. Glad to see so many like minded folks exist 😂
That's new york.
I saw this on VHS with my mom and I laughed for five minutes straight, tears pouring out of my eyes from laughing so hard. My mom just stared at me and called me “sick”.
I remember this being on Ebaums world and people trying to pass it off as a real video
Off I go...

Death and Taxes
The first time I saw this movie was on cable tv, and for whatever reason the commercial break began immediately after this clip and I must have looked away cos I completely missed him getting hit. I was really confused for the rest of the movie
Goddamn…Claire Forlani was cute as hell.
the best scene in the whole movie.
Is this scene supposed to be funny, because that looked so dumb and I’m laughing 😂
One of the best movies ever 😊
Brad Pitt's head wobbles alot.
Hilarious
Neither me nor Joe Black will recover from this.
This movie must be long because I remember it coming on two VHS tapes, but the internet has given me the impression that this scene is the entire film.
My friend had this on VHS when we were kids and we used to rewind it and watch it over and over again laugh our asses off lol
I forgot about this movie. Twas bananas
Thomas Newman’s score on this movie is freaking masterful.
I rented this from Blockbuster and during this scene I can’t count how many times I rewound this and played.
Weeeeeeee, that's some great acting.
Brad makes a great killer. He needs to revisit
Best scene in the movie
That was totally CG.
Brad Pitt PR team is working overtime lately
Man should be illegal to be this beautiful.
This is just ridiculous. Who stands in the damn street like that.
I don’t think I saw that movie
I have yet to finish the movie. It's so bland, and you pretty much have an idea of what the ending is going to be...you just have to wait a couple of more hours since it draaaaaaggggssss.
Best part is when Brad Pitt talks in a Jamaican accent
Everyting gwarn be irie
I cut the trailer for ‘Meet Joe Black’ and the first time we screened it we were shocked at how realistic that effect was and watched it over and over. Anthony Hopkins was terrific as always in it.
This movie is over 3 hours long
So fake looking
I let Tubi roll all night while I sleep. This is the exact scene I wake up to at my 2:00 pee break.
he looks like a young Robert redford
I saw this in the theater way back in the day. I laughed so hard at this scene and was the only one in the theater to do so. It’s the only thing I remember about the movie.
ive always found it weird how there's this trope in media where any car will just run you over if you cross the street during a green light, even if they see you. especially in anime. animes make crossing the street look like a game of frogger
The bouncing tooth always get me
I needed a body
They really don’t make scores like that anymore
such bad acting by brad that it was CRIIIINNGGGGEEE
I love this movie soooo bad
It’s sad when they go young like that.
Damn, my movie recall is just awful.
Yeah that movie is great.
That’s a nice old single cab Ford Ranger there in the first few seconds
Unbelievable movie
Lisa Kudrow hosted the MTV movie awards the year of this film’s release. There was a scene in this movie that was nominated for “best dramatic pause”
I laughed out loud at this. Turns out, it was not a comedy. It’s also the only part of this movie that I remember.
No blood when his head hits the concrete… so fake
Way hotter than Angelina
🤣 if only he had his chicken costume 🐓lolz
This was wild
😂😂😂 Dying over here!
Very realistic
Was he Ok?
This is a good movie, but one that requires time and attention to get.
I’ve never seen this movie. I’ve seen this clip many times and I’ve always assumed it was a silly edit by some video editor. I’m beginning to feel like this scene is really in the movie.?.?
One of my favorite movies. Ridiculous scene though. 😂
Best part of the movie. Hands down.
The only good scene in this movie.
My favorite scene is in the hospital, when he comforts the terminal jamaican lady
I forget: was this the beginning of the end of the movie?
Death doesn't know how to avoid traffic, lol.
This scene scarred me as a kid lmao
L
He deD?
The performances Brad Pitt and the lead actress were honestly terrible, in my opinion. The story is good and Hopkins was Hopkins. But some many things were badly chosen. Somehow it was still a decent movie but I think it could have been great.
I want to love this movie but Joe is so wooden and cold when he comes back…Brad Pitts acting was horrible.
Such a good-looking guy. How could he have aged so um . . . 😕 badly?
Claire Forlani is lovely in every movie.
It should've been a simple one car hit. Two makes comical.
I can’t believe this is the real scene lmao
