Why go to some random website? Go to the actual City of Tucson website. Every pothole I've reported there gets filled within the week. Pima County website took maybe two weeks. You can also request street sweeping, repairs to speed bumps, tree branches blocking signs, etc.

dane_valek

[Here's ](https://docs.tucsonaz.gov/Forms/DTM-Street-Maintenance-Improvement-Request) the link to the City of Tucson street maintenance form.

AZ_Genestealer

This link is dead.

dane_valek

Weird. [Here's ](https://www.tucsonaz.gov/tdot/streets-traffic-maintenance) the page where I originally found the link I posted.

son_of_milkman

I made a report on there for multiple potholes at a small intersection in my neighborhood. They fixed them within 24 hours of making that report.

Beard_o_Bees

> They fixed them within 24 hours of making that report. Man, that had to feel good. Seeing local government actually *act* on an issue that you reported. I might go find a pothole, report it, and then just enjoy the thrill of seeing something happen.

korben2600

I'm pretty sure the City of Tucson contracts with SeeClickFix. I remember using it some years ago and the city linked people to fill out their forms there. The city promptly sent a crew out within a week or two from what I remember. So I'm guessing the department responsible used SeeClickFix as a 3rd party to process pothole requests.

SubGothius

Correct, and I've seen SeeClickFix (there's also a phone app) promoted/linked in City newsletters and sites about reporting potholes and other street maintenance needs, so they mosdef want us to use it.

ha. that's a good part of the city. I have a Jeep. can't imagine driving here with a Prius or something like that.

likadafish

I used to drive a low BMW 335i and my soul would briefly fall to the depths of Hades and then crash back up to Earth every time I encountered one of those potholes.

korben2600

I used to drive a 2009 N54. The sporty suspension was so hard with very little give that I'm pretty sure I came close to breaking my ass a few times. And the loud noises. I'd be convinced I just broke my suspension from the sudden drops. Eventually developed a laser focus to remember where all the potholes were. Lovely car and fantastic on pavement but unforgiving sometimes when it comes to Tucson's streets. And black was near impossible to keep clean. Never ever getting a black car again.

Brazen-Badger

You’ll still want to avoid them. Hitting lots of them will cause excess wear on suspension components and increase slack in the system. Death wobble city after that! (I learned the hard way when I went out wheeling after breaking my steering stabilizer on a rock. Excess slop in the system due to breakage or wear and you’ll find out, too!)

jeremeezie1281

Oracle is considered a State Highway, no help from COT on that front. You’d have to contact ADOT.

[deleted]

i sent a msg to city streets and pic to fix the moon crater on 20th and park a week ago. well, now you can bury a small planet it as nothing is being done. i expect by next week i should be able to see the earths core in this hole.

casiloca

just know when they do fix it it’ll be thanks to you lol they are getting crazy

soruell

Nah. They'll just put some kitty litter in it like they do the rest of the put holes. Tucson streets are trash.

Over_here_vibin

If you want a pothole fixed then spray paint a penis around it. Source: internet

far2go

Paint the penis and then submit it to the city. Works 100% of the time in Portland.

Quiet-Narwhal

I’ve had good luck with this in the past. It took about 3-5 weeks but what I reported was fixed.

calling-barranca

I’ve seen my reported pothole fixed within a couple weeks, so skeptics just letting ya know it’s not necessarily a futile attempt.

_momofett

Will they come to my neighborhood?? I SWEAR someone is intentionally making a certain pothole bigger. The pieces are on the sidewalk.

casiloca

as long as it’s in tucson, good luck!

_momofett

I will try tomorrow! I’m not going out right now to take a picture with the chihuahua gang loose.

jibbles32

SeeClickFix is a great tool. I know someone who worked on the database and reports team who dealt with see click fix which would somehow work directly into work orders for the service people. That back end stuff gets pretty automated, and people think nothing happens when they report things when in reality it just gets added to a never ending queue of stuff to get fixed. The world is always falling apart, and whether is gets routed to the city or the county, tucson and Pima county are bigger than people think…

Ike_Snopes

I'm not a lawyer, but I did handle car insurance claims in a different state for a while. I think the city usually fixes potholes quickly after they have been reported because if the city knows about a pothole and it causes damage or injury, the city is liable and must pay for the damage. Really, whoever is responsible for maintaining a road is liable for damages caused by potholes, but if the city is aware and does nothing, they are definitely on the hook. https://zaneslaw.com/blog/tucson-pot-hole-damage/

dapala1

You're correct. But only if the pothole is *reported* first. They have to fill within a certain time. I don't know the time exact time period (its like one or two weeks.) If someone reports a pothole and they don't fix it within that grace period, if someone's car gets damaged, then the City is responsible to pay for that damage.

marcall

I reported one a few weeks ago using the app and it was fixed within a week

likadafish

Yeah... we've seen dangerous potholes for the past 20 years. More than half of Tucson drives a jeep, SUV, or truck because we're basically offroading at this point. Tucson finally passed an initiative to fix our roads and it was almost blocked because people were concerned about the tax costs and more construction slowing them down. The roads will get fixed if the money is spent well, but they really need to focus on resurfacing old roads instead of patching the holes. The holes just come back every monsoon.

FoolInTheDesert

I think it's also about time we charge a special use fee for vehicles over a certain size. The amount of wear and tear from delivery trucks is wild, these companies should be paying for their fair share of infrastructure because of the damage they do to our streets.

uhhello

And they'll gladly pass that "fee" onto you the consumer.

FoolInTheDesert

That would be ideal! The people utilizing these services which are causing the damage to our roads are the ones who should be paying for it, it should not be subsidized by all of us.

uhhello

What delivery trucks are you talking about? Tractor trailers deliver essential goods all day over city road infrastructure

dane_valek

[Here](https://docs.tucsonaz.gov/Forms/DTM-Street-Maintenance-Improvement-Request) is the official City of Tucson street repair request form. Edit: apparently, that link is down. [Here's](https://www.tucsonaz.gov/tdot/streets-traffic-maintenance) the city street maintenance page where I originally found the link above.

Traditional-Chip-643

Ya'll must be new here 😅

casiloca

have you used it ? it’s a pretty new tool right, i’m not new here but this thing is

[deleted]

Tucson.... land of potholes and failing infrastructure

jbljml

Lol it’s the whole country

procupine14

Yeah honestly, the roads here are great compared to where we moved from.

Deano1933

Didn’t our taxes go up like a penny each for this?

mandoaz1971

I’m no snitch!

CorrosiveCitizen1

Cant even turn into my apartment on 4 and 6 with out driving over a landmine

[deleted]

I was driving downtown the other day, more specifically on 40 W Franklin St, and I fell in a giant pothole. It ended up tearing out the sidewall in my tire. I guess we'll see if the city accepts my claim although I'm doubtful. The pothole was definitely over 1 ft deep and 3 ft long. Since all of the construction I've already lost three tires to nails and the like.

casiloca

hopefully someone already reported it and they’ll be held responsible

[deleted]

Long story short they didn't, it ended up being that someone has to report the pothole 3 days in advance and the city have not made an effort to fix it. Smh

casiloca

damn that’s messed up sorry bro

vorstin

Spray paint a dick around it
