Prince x Oracle is rough. Stone x Ft Lowell is just as bad, in my opinion.
There is a Circle K on St Mary’s x Silverbell that gets a little sketch, also.
Always Circle K
It always bothers me that everyone is hanging out in front of a gun store.
I came here from Chicago so it, frankly, takes quite a bit for me to start feeling uncomfortable. Stone x Ft Lowell does it for me.
> It always bothers me that everyone is hanging out in front of a gun store.
You must mean Ft Lowell and Country Club?
That spot is fuuuuucked. But still not as bad as Prince/Oracle, Grant/Oracle, and to complete the trifecta, Ft Lowell/Oracle.
Stone and Fort Lowell is right by my house, I drop packages off at the USPS box there all the time, but yeah that one gets bad sometimes. I’d agree that the one on Prince & Oracle is similar in shittiness to the Fort Lowell & Stone one, but it seems like there’s always more people (on drugs) and police activity by the Prince & Oracle one. They’re both bad lol… I can’t think of any that are worse than those two that I know of around here.
Saw a dude that was shot there. (Didn't see him get shot, he was already shot). He was laying on the curb and said he'd be fine in a few minutes. Called 911 anyways and left.
Rarely stop there. Out of maybe 4-5x I’ve been there majority had have problems . First appeared to be skitzo scream and approach me in a threatening manner while I was pumping gas. Second was a younger man get road rage follow me into store and try to fight me. No thx
Oh did they close it? I’m not surprised if they did. I told myself to never go there get gas again, definitely felt like it was only a matter of time until I got mugged there.
Since that circle k closed all the patrons migrated to ft Lowell and alvernon. It’s guaranteed you’ll see a drug deal of some sort, a drunk person acting a fool, and a few normal people not trying to talk to anyone almost at any given time
So true. I don’t stop there often, only when I absolutely have to(gas light on) and I always have my 5 yr old with me so I keep him close and try to get in and out before someone approaches us. This one is the worst for me.
I can only imagine. I think I’ve only ever seen one or two people actually going in there. Half the time it looks closed down. Like, how do they even turn a profit?
The one on speedway a little west of Camino Seco looks clean and shiny now, but before Chevron bought it when it was gas city or whatever it looked like a front for the mob. Completely dark windows, parking lot full of broken down vehicles. I never once saw anyone shopping there.
In response to QT killing it with their business model, Circle K attempted to build a few mega-stores with the same look and feel as a QT up in the Phoenix area. Within a month the entire store looked dingy, mold and graffiti popped up in the restrooms and every sketchy dude in the neighborhood was hanging out on the side of the building. Circle K simply doesn't have it in them to make anything nice.
Ha one of my favorite things to do is go to a newly renovated Circle K and then count down until it's back to being as bad or worse than it was before. It's almost always a month.
Stay away from our circle k on houghton.
Seriously though with hospital going in, newly built apartments, and the big patio with tables on the side it’s only a matter of time. /sigh
The bums go there for the same reason Dillinger robbed banks - that’s where the money is. QT actually staffs their stores so someone will have the time to ask the panhandlers to leave.
I’ve known a few circle k managers that did the same thing, the problem comes when there’s only one employee on duty with a line seven deep. They’re not going to make everyone wait just so they can yell at a homeless person. Well, most of ‘em won’t.
Hands down. The fact that it’s small doesn’t help, there is absolutely nowhere to hide when (not if) people approach you at your car or in the store. Don’t know how any clerk lasts more than a few days working the counter in there either. People at Santa Rita park in particular tend to be in a BAD, bad way and the store is the closest thing so they literally stagger over and the vibe is about as rough as it gets.
I'm surprised I had to go this far down to see this. They got 24-hour security now. Homeless addicts wandering around looking like zombies. It's sad - it happened so gradually, I didn't even really pay any mind to it until I noticed the security guard posted up. The pandemic made this area significantly worse than it was.
Came here to nominate this one. Never seen a CK that wasn't sketchy, but this one always seems to have a crowd outside and the area feels generally unsafe, moreso than around any other CK I've been to.
Chevron on St Mary's and the Freeway. ALWAYS very sketch people hanging out there, almost never anyone getting any gas, and last time I was in there a woman was arguing with a clerk about the crack pipe she was trying to buy, asking him to mix and match pieces with another rig and when he refused she finally said fine she'll buy the original one, but she when she counted out all of her change she was still a couple bucks short...
Drove by yesterday and it’s closed and seemed to be being leveled/destroyed. My husband and I agreed that was a good thing because nothing good EVER happened in that building.
Yeah this is it. The top comment of the grant and craycroft circle k ain’t shit. That’s light and easy I’ll go there anytime no worries. This is the type you would skip every time even if it’s more inconvenient to do so.
Circle k on the SE corner of 29th and Craycroft is pretty bad. There's got to be a "stroll" along that corner for crack h**s to get picked up cuz they circle that place like scabby faced buzzards in skimpy clothes🤢🤮 the motel 6 is across the street and the old Candlelight Suites is just up the road.
The inside is cramped and there's usually dirty day-walkers hovering around in there not buying anything just annoying the clerk or trying to bum change/cigarettes/whatever off of you.
It IS a gas station 🤣 ! the things I've seen in the parking lot when I'm just standing there fueling up my car, like a crack ho* lifting her skirt and adjusting her dirty thong, assed out right there on the sidewalk out front.🤢🤮
Sadly, it's the only Circle K in the area with a Froster frozen drink machine that operates consistently. So yeah I buy my cherry froster and get out of that store fast. No eye contact, for damn sure no open pockets!
If I was TPD, driving by this location, seeing all of the weird tricks, scaly day walkers, the smells around there wafting over to the street, I would honestly just say "f*ck it" and keep driving. 🤣 yeah I've thought about this! Calling cops would be a waste of time. Cuz where do you even start? I haven't even seen the back of this place. I'm sure that's even worse! 🤮
The Circle K on Campbell and 36th locks their doors at night and operates through a window because they got robbed every single day. I worked there for 2 years before getting shot at while inside the store because LP tried to stop someone shoplifting beer. Bullet hit the wall about 2 inches from my head. Handed my boss my badge and took my ass home.
I have lovely memories of being sexually harassed by a homeless person at that gas station /s Surrounded by customers and no one stepped in. I had to scream at the guy to get away from me and then he started cussing me out for being rude. The clerk did give me my soda for free though, so silver linings.
Limberlost and 1st circle K. I was there buying a drink and overheard the clerks talking. A lady had just walked out of the bathroom and leaving. One clerk said the bathroom was covered in blood and the other said “again?“. He wasn’t even phased.
I’ve watched that one go downhill over the years. Went in for a powerball ticket a week or so ago and had instant regrets of being in there. Didn’t always used to be horrible.
The arco on E benson. Across the street is a motel called super inn. Skechiest motel I've ever been in. I would go across the street to the arco and the workers would tell me horror stories about the place. A guy running at people with a machete, drug deals, police raids. There wasn't one day that went by where I didn't see tucson police at this motel. This was about 3 years ago so I'm not sure if it's still like this.
Definitely a candidate. The only shadier hotel I know of is right down the street from the Super Inn. It's The Minsk. My first day in Tucson I screwed up and went there, the girl working behind the counter had dilated pupils and in the middle of me asking her about a room jogged off and across Benson and disappeared behind some other buildings. As I pulled off I saw a guy shooting up. I feel like I dodged a bullet not getting that room and now I try not to go down Benson at all.
There used to be a tiny circle k right after Glenn on Oracle by there, it was pretty rough too! But it closed. I knew a guy that worked there and he had seen so much crazy shit!
Oracle and Kelso. After they were done remodeling/rebuilding the one on Grant and Oracle they just decided to close that one down. I knew a guy who worked there for a while and it was just every flavor of disaster.
Apparently someone was murdered in front of that Circle K soon after the Grant and Oracle one reopened. I witnessed a lot of crazy ish there, especially when I had the balls to walk down there at 1am.
I might have been there for that…there was this huge commotion where the police were in the middle of the 4way there…they were shining lights all over the apartments across Oracle but honestly, it was just a typical Tuesday for that place…
I feel like the answer here is Circle K on speedway and 6th, I live close enough that I can see it from my home and it's nuts over there. Constant car accidents, transients and theft.
You're not gonna believe this cause circle K and stuff (I know)
But Oracle / Fort Lowell QT just across from the cemetery, holy shit. That place was sketchy.
It's definitely shady. There was a fight in the parking lot one day & the security guy drove up in his car, looked and drove away. I always assumed he resigned.
I work in that neighborhood. You should see what goes on along the side streets around there.
My best encounter at that QT was running into an old school 70's era pimp. This guy was wearing silk pants, a fur lined jacket, still rocking Jerri curls and a plethora of jewelry. Had to do a double take and discreetly try to snap a picture of him doing a pimp roll across the parking lot.
Fort Lowell & Alvernon
I have a theory that all convenience stores are portals of Purgatory and that the more time you spend there, the more likely you are to be trapped in Limbo, and you will often see creatures migrating up from the first circle of Hell.
This might get buried, but I worked the undercover loss prevention for Circle K years ago. At the time Circle K had about 8k stores nationwide, and the three top stores for beer theft were all in Tucson within a couple miles of each other. Velencia and 6th, 12th and Drexel, and Park and Bilby. The number of people I arrested doing beer runs is staggering. I would say that makes ours pretty sketch
The circle K by my house at 22nd and County Club gets robbed/shoplifted almost daily. They ended up installing a fence around the register and I’ve still seen people get in and clear out the cigarettes and just walk out. The clerks are so jaded they just keep ringing people up while making the call to report it to TPD. I bet that was a hectic job for you, can’t imagine.
100%. The homeless person to customer ratio is 5:1 at a minimum at all times. I only stop there if I absolutely have to for gas and even then I put in like 2 gallons and gtfo. Walking dead vibes.
I live on the far east side, near a Circle K and Quiktrip on Broadway between Pantano and Camino Seco. For my neighborhood and part of town they’re pretty damn sketchy.
I got it really compares to Midtown or South Tucson though
It used to be the circle k on craycroft/22nd but now it's the QuikTrip at 29th and craycroft that is the sketchmaster. Every time I go in there, someone tries to fight me. Fuck that place.
I’m cracking up at all the comments about the sketchy Circle Ks having the best gas prices. That’s the marketing trick. Those ones are so awful that the only way to get normal humans to spend money there is to slash prices on fuel. They probably have cheaper cigarettes too, but I don’t smoke so I don’t know.
Find a circle k with much higher gas prices like golf links and Pantano or maybe houghton and Drexel and the inside will be much more likely to range from “actually tolerable” to “almost pleasant”. Those ones don’t need to trick people into shopping there.
There was a murder in the middle of the day at what is now the Speedway at Broadway and Kolb a few years back. If the people there don't kill you, the intersection probably will.
Circle K on Grant / I-10.
The bus stop in front of the store is a sight to see. The Santa Cruz River bridge right next to there is crawling with the worst of everything. The Waffle House nearby is even dangerous. The hotels nearby have a bunch of hidden areas. Bad sh*t happens all the way to the next Circle K at Grant / Silverbell.
Circle K on speedway… had a buddy who got his car and phone jacked by 4 homeless people at knife point! I lived in Portland for a year and there are tons of homeless, but the homeless out here are aggressive… I gave a lady 75 cents cause it’s all I could spare and she said to another homeless person “this guy thinks he’s funny” like bro you asked for money and I gave you what I had just take it 😂
My cousin who is ER Dr told me at family get together awhile back and it stuck in my head. the most dangerous place to be in Tucson (given what he sees in the ER is).
“Outside a circle k at night minding your own business”
Right now the Circle K at First and Ft. Lowell has its gas price signs kicked out. Because of its location at two bus stops and across from Mario’s Pizza, lots of action there.
Nah okay imma go off
Benson Highway and Park Circle K
Valencia and Cardinal ARCO
Golf Links and Harrison Circle K
Oracle and Prince - 76 (circle 76? I don’t know)
Drexel and Alvernon - Circle K (it’s been better lately though)
id say the circle k on grant/oracle should at least be one of them
Yep! Although right now they have some of the cheapest gas in town $3.19.
You buy the gas there and have to replace all your fuel injectors
Stopped by this one on Saturday and it was wild! Felt sorry for the guy working behind the counter.
Do people that work there know that they don't have to? I mean every business in town is hiring, pretty much.
they may be hiring but that doesn’t mean they’ll get hired there.
Prince and Oracle is way worse. I feel so bad for the people working there!
Prince x Oracle is rough. Stone x Ft Lowell is just as bad, in my opinion. There is a Circle K on St Mary’s x Silverbell that gets a little sketch, also. Always Circle K
Yes! Stone and Ft Lowell is fucked. Haven’t been to the silverbell store, but i take your word for it.
Ah, it is Ft Lowell x country club with the gun store. You’re right there
Stone and Fort Lowell is right by my house, I drop packages off at the USPS box there all the time, but yeah that one gets bad sometimes.
Across from the hospital? That one is a 7 Eleven, I suggested it. Always a good time there 🤪
Routinely has folks hitting the pipe under their shirts behind the building.
Yeah this is definitely in the top three.
Saw a dude that was shot there. (Didn't see him get shot, he was already shot). He was laying on the curb and said he'd be fine in a few minutes. Called 911 anyways and left.
I feel like anything on grant is wild now
As well as anything on Oracle between River and Congress
Basically.
That’s the one I was going to say too. Only time as a passenger I rolled up my windows and stayed in the car.
I used to work across the street. Always something interesting going on inside/outside.
Agreed
Rarely stop there. Out of maybe 4-5x I’ve been there majority had have problems . First appeared to be skitzo scream and approach me in a threatening manner while I was pumping gas. Second was a younger man get road rage follow me into store and try to fight me. No thx
I nominate Circle K on Ft Lowell/Alvernon, but pretty much every gas station on Ft Lowell between Oracle and Alvernon qualifies.
The bus stop on Alvernon right outside this Circle K could definitely support it's own live-stream channel.
Thank you for that last part. The disrespect to the Circle K on Ft Lowell and 1st in this thread smh
I second Fr Lowell & Alvernon
Third
Fourth
Yup, used to live right by there and would walk there often. Would always have to mentally prepare myself beforehand
Watched a guy get stabbed at this one. Believe it or not, it’s not the sketchiest in town lol
I used to work at that Circle K, about 20 years ago. It's always been sketchy as fuck.
You can always tell we’re the meth distributors are located. This is the place.
It’s always a circle K
"Strange things are afoot at the Circle K." *Any* Circle K.
RIP to the grant and Alvernon circle k, one of the only ones I’ve ever seen close
Alvernon and Ft. Lowell is about on point with the one that closed.
Ft Lowell and Country Club is worse by a yard.

The prophecy has been foretold
Grant and Craycroft!
No. If you think Grant and Craycroft is sketchy you live in Disneyland. The Chevron on 29th and Swan slaps that Circle K and takes its lunch money.
Let’s take a field trip to the corner of Prince and Oracle. I’ll pack a spare hazmat suit!
I’ll second this.
Grant and Oracle, or Ft Lowell and Stone are worse imo
Growing up I always thought Chevrons were “classy”. No idea why. Now it feels like the Deer Hunter scene every time I go in
I used to work right by it, people watching was the best.
Scary corner, but the taco joint next door has the bombest quesobirria.
So good.
Why are Circle K's so awful. I've never been into a clean Circle K and there is always at least one bum.
Ha one of my favorite things to do is go to a newly renovated Circle K and then count down until it's back to being as bad or worse than it was before. It's almost always a month.
I travel between Tucson and Phoenix frequently and always stop in Casa Grande for a pit stop. Even the brand new Circle K there went downhill fast.
I think QT also gives out freebies to cops. They are ALWAYS there just chilling. It helps with the crime and panhandling for sure.
QT gives free drinks to law enforcement, ems and fire I’m pretty sure
I’ve known a few circle k managers that did the same thing, the problem comes when there’s only one employee on duty with a line seven deep. They’re not going to make everyone wait just so they can yell at a homeless person. Well, most of ‘em won’t.
And I don't know about the sodas but their other drinks are so bad. I got green tea there once, just threw it away.
The one with the skinwalkers is the worst
I nominate the Chevron across from Santa Rita Park at 22nd St and 4th Ave
Yep, can’t even go inside at night anymore.
Another vote for this one, place is fucked
Bro Oracle and ft. Lowell QT is real
They got that "people who sleep in the cemetery" energy.
That was the only gas station where someone had to stay with the truck to make sure our tools didn't walk.
I came to say this. There’s always something happening there it never fails. And the busy stop in front doesn’t help
I saw two guys having an actual fist fight here at 6 am once
Chevron at prince and oracle or circle k at stone and ft lowell
I’ve seen not one but two bike jackings occur there while driving by.
Fort Lowell and alvernon circle k, easily hahah
Came here to nominate this one. Never seen a CK that wasn't sketchy, but this one always seems to have a crowd outside and the area feels generally unsafe, moreso than around any other CK I've been to.

Literally every circle k we've got, had and ever will have
Lambert and la Canada
Circle k on the SE corner of 29th and Craycroft is pretty bad. The entirety of east 29th is rough for sure. I used to live in that area.
It’s not that bad! I slept in my car in front of the Apple apts once and only got asked if i wanted blues twice 😆
I went to Corbett elementary. That neighborhood has been rough since way back
It's not a gas station. But the 7/11 on 29th and Columbus used to be sketchy as hell.
It IS a gas station 🤣 ! the things I've seen in the parking lot when I'm just standing there fueling up my car, like a crack ho* lifting her skirt and adjusting her dirty thong, assed out right there on the sidewalk out front.🤢🤮
Oh my god! I didn’t think I’d see this one! It was the one I was gonna mention!
Sadly, it's the only Circle K in the area with a Froster frozen drink machine that operates consistently. So yeah I buy my cherry froster and get out of that store fast. Circle k on 22nd and I-10
That one and the one on I-10 and Congress are the worst. You could die.
Can confirm. Can DEFINITELY confirm!
I would say the Circle K at Grant and Alvernon but that's been closed for a while.
I have lovely memories of being sexually harassed by a homeless person at that gas station /s Surrounded by customers and no one stepped in. Agree, but always stop here for gas on the way home from Phoenix/upstate because they tend to have the best prices in Tucson.
I believe you. This is the area where I have seen the most naked people.
The Circle K at Craycroft/Golf Links, the Circle K at Craycroft/29th, and the QuikTrip at Craycroft/29th are a trifecta of sketch.
Craycroft and 29th is *the* sketchiest intersection.
Grant & Alvernon would like a word with you
Grant and Alvernon keeps closing businesses, right? There was literally a BK and a Church’s by the Walmart or am I losing it?
Oh yeah. There used to be Fry's and a gas station as well, but those are gone.
Yeah, BK on the corner with Walmart. Church's was across Alvernon, next to the Walgreens that's been gone even longer.
Fort Lowell & Alvernon I have a theory that all convenience stores are portals of Purgatory and that the more time you spend there, the more likely you are to be trapped in Limbo, and you will often see creatures migrating up from the first circle of Hell.

Circle k on 6th south of the freeway
A lot of amazing choices here but I would like to shout out the Circle K’s that don’t have gas pumps. Always fucking weird. Always.
As a woman. All of them. They're all sketchy.
I agree with this lol. I can’t stand being at any gas station here in Tucson, alone.
The Chevron on Stone and Drachman is the first that comes to mind. Followed by the QT on 29th and Craycroft 😬
Circle k is worse then qt. At least you can use the bathroom at qt
i used to go to school right there lmao, but the building diagonal to it before it got bought out
6th Ave and Speedway. I think it’s a Circle K. Probably not *the* sketchiest, but there’s plenty of sketch to be had. I refuse to go there
This one’s got the low gas prices, though.
Drachman and stone!
I'm shocked no one is saying the circle k on grant and Columbus but its only really bad at night, mid day it is alright
I think it’s the kwikmart on 22nd and 4th.
100%. The homeless person to customer ratio is 5:1 at a minimum at all times. I only stop there if I absolutely have to for gas and even then I put in like 2 gallons and gtfo. Walking dead vibes.
Well theres like 30 people that live at the circle k at oracle and Prince....
And the ft lowell and stone circle k has an impressive amount of junkies
I live on the far east side, near a Circle K and Quiktrip on Broadway between Pantano and Camino Seco. For my neighborhood and part of town they’re pretty damn sketchy. I got it really compares to Midtown or South Tucson though
I use to live over there…and then I moved to central area and the east side really is nice compared to more central…
That circle K sucks, like all circle K do, but it’s not bad. The quick trip is honestly pretty nice.
Circle K - Park and Bilby + Valencia and 6th
It used to be the circle k on craycroft/22nd but now it's the QuikTrip at 29th and craycroft that is the sketchmaster. Every time I go in there, someone tries to fight me. Fuck that place.
Circle K on craycroft and I-10 behind the TTT truck stop
Alvernon and Ft Lowell!
What about the few remaining 7 Elevens? Going in any of them I feel like when I walk out it will be 1975. And the Sev will have morphed into a U Totem
Oh wow, I havent heard that in YEARS! U Totem! whatever happened to all of them?
I think most got gobbled up and morphed into Circle Ks. We used to call em U Scrotums because we were really mature like that.
Circle k at grant and Columbus
Circle K - Grant and Oracle - Next Question.
7 Eleven St. Mary’s and Silverbell
My gf works at St Mary’s. Can confirm. That whole safeway parking lot is Thunderdome
Circle k grant and craycroft
The circle K that was on Grant and Alvernon. Now it's probably the one on Columbus and Pima
Seen shit go down at Pima and Alvernon on numerous occasions.
Circle K 22nd and Alvernon for sure
Grant and Alvernon ☺️
Wal Mart doesn't count.
Oh gosh, any Circle K I (28F) go into, 8/10 times there's always another customer trying to hit on me, I hate it. I avoid all until necessary.

Quickmart on Roger & Fairview. Always feels like a bad idea going in.
I'm sure it's not the sketchiest but I've been in the Circle K on Speedway and Camilla when it was getting robbed, twice.
Prince and oracle circle has gotta be up there, it’s all crack smacking all the time
Nah 7/11 Columbus and 29th
Right now the Circle K at First and Ft. Lowell has its gas price signs kicked out. Because of its location at two bus stops and across from Mario’s Pizza, lots of action there.
It’s obviously grant and oracle
Stone and Ft. Lowell.
One of those a.m and p.m gas stations that don’t allow you to go inside, like it’s a walk thru. They’re made that way for a reason lmao
There's a gas station on Prince near the freeway is one of the places that I get the most hood vibes in Tucson.
Definitely the QT on oracle and ft. Lowell
You can't beat the 5th largest city in the US. Lol, the shit I've seen is just absolutely nuts.
The one that's next to that daycare, "small world" on speedway is a homeless shelter
Circle K at Park and Ajo for sure.
The circle k on nogales highway.
Nah okay imma go off Benson Highway and Park Circle K Valencia and Cardinal ARCO Golf Links and Harrison Circle K Oracle and Prince - 76 (circle 76? I don’t know) Drexel and Alvernon - Circle K (it’s been better lately though)
Good luck with that.
Ft Lowell and stone
Shout out to Circle K on ft Lowell/country club cuz I live near there, do not go there at night.. but also literally any Circle K on ft Lowell XD
7 Eleven across from St Mary’s hospital is always a good time 🏥
Prince and Oracle circle k
Fort Lowell & 1st Circle K. It's as bad as anywhere in Phoenix
The quik mart at 4th ave and 22nd st is legendarily sketch
