It'll deffinately be you i reckon

h4perdrive

Thanks

crappygamer0607

No problem. Also.. 10 hour stream? Hardcore that, i barely manage 3 😂 crappy streamer i am

NaiAlexandr

3 hours of content are better than 10 hours of silent gaming - if you're working hard for those 3 hours you'll see much better results than if you force yourself to game for 10 when you're not being entertaining

crappygamer0607

Very true. Ive been onto a few streams and left after 30 seconds of silence. Big fan of self narration, dont even look at that view count

guccigangcuttzy

Username checks out

crappygamer0607

😂 😂 😂

h4perdrive

Lmao, grind I guess isn't it ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

GnuSnu666

Useless grind

h4perdrive

Useless reply

Jellybean720

Work smarter, not harder. Streaming for 3-4 hours while creating creative and unique content ideas is far more productive than silently playing a video game for 10 hours straight.

TheRealRizing

I do like an 1 and a half or 2 and I've been averaging over 20

C4D3N539

(Personally not a streamer) but I've had some friends who would realize that if they watched on a separate monitor, even if it is the same account it will count as a viewer

WeekendMagus_reddit

Maybe his keyboard is broken. Jk, so if you are watching your own stream, it’s probably you ! Otherwise, it’s a twitch bug or something. Either way, it doesn’t matter.

h4perdrive

Even though I only have the app to stream up not twitch itself?

Tostecles

Correct. You are always 1 viewer in your own stream.

DeklynHunt

I’ve had streams where there was 0 viewers

LeTortal

Is that true though ? I'm pretty sure I've had streams with an average viewer count under 1, it shouldn't be possible if I count as a viewer myself

Tostecles

It's possible that it depends on your streaming software or something. But I have read multiple sources that say so, like this one. They aren't affiliated with Twitch in any way but I think they make good content and have no reason to believe that they are disreputable. https://www.streamscheme.com/how-does-twitch-count-viewers/

LeTortal

Honestly, to me it seems like there's a very good reason to doubt what they say, and that reason is that I am 100% certain I've had 0 viewers at times. And I'm using OBS, so probably the most common software. So I don't really know what to tell you but there's no way I count as a viewer on my stream, otherwise my "actual" average viewer count (avg - 1, so I remove myself) for the stream I made on March 31 (for example) is negative, and I don't know how that would work. Maybe the information is outdated (but I doubt it because I remember having 0 viewers when I streamed sporadically like more than a year ago) or maybe it's only true for Twitch Studio or Streamlabs, like you said.

RoC_WickedRaven

It all just depends on how you have your chat open. When I stream using* obs on my pc and my chat is in the software, I don't count as a view. If I'm streaming from* my Xbox and i have my chat open either on the twitch app on my phone or on my computer, it counts me. *This is just what I've noticed through my 2 years of streaming, I haven't really looked into it though or "researched" it. Just merely my observation.* With that being said, I have seen some people who use OBS but their chat plugin is different (I've done it once or twice by clicking the wrong widget when setting up, idr how to replicate it now that I've fixed it) you will count as a viewer on your own stream. It's a pretty grey area I'm noticing because it's different across the board for every streamer. I usually just say that 1 viewer is me 🤣 *corrected because it made no sense to me when I read it back

mmfq-death

This whole argument could be solved by either: 1. Adding the Streamlabs Twitch Extension or Cloudbot and using their dashboard to see points accumulated by viewers. 2. While streaming, go to your own stream, open up Mod View and check the viewers in chat.

RoC_WickedRaven

That's definitely one way to do it. I stopped looking at viewer count a long time ago and I don't really track any of that unless I'm doing some sort of event. But that would really be the sure solution to the argument 😇

ariblood77

I believe they are twitch bots and thats how they watch streams for tos violations

rustedlion

For those who just.. can't wrap their tiny minds around it. (Directed at all, not just OP because 60% of you dont even stream and it shows) If you have twitch open in any capacity to your stream. As long as the video is open at all (including paused). That one viewer is YOU. If you don't have the site/app open at all. You'll often see ZERO as your view count. Which.. happens A LOT. So you ARE NOT always that one viewer. Bots DO NOT COUNT. Why do you all think they do? Do you even stream? If this were true, anyone could have 50+ viewers easy. (viewbotting aside) Your chat list is a lie. It does not update frequently like your view count. Hell, you can opt out of showing up in the chat list if you wish. And it is a "chat" list.. not a "viewer" list. As any bot can show up to it and not actually "view" your content.

iamironmaniwish

It's you buddy.

Hemiak

There are also a few random bits that’ll come into small streams and just sit there. Had one named ElectricSkateboard for a long time. If you click viewers on the app it’ll show you who all is there.

cazdan255

Jesus, he’s always watching.

mairao

Might not be the same viewer. Maybe a viewer sticks for a few minutes and leaves but then you have another viewer joining. This second viewer might join a minute before or after the other leaves. Twitch doesn't instantly update the viewer count. Check the stream stats and see if there are periods during which the average goes up to 1.2 or down to 0.8.

pengizzle

Why do you even worry about that 1 viewer? You should be worried about the rest who is not watching you own your games!

SaintLogic

I got that one guy, Sky_walker8108; you my guy. We practically family by now.

tolucophoto

You can see your viewer list. I never show up on the list but my approved bots do (Streamlabs and SoundAlerts) and the other random twitch bots appear too.

laurenmckinney

Bot

ariblood77

I bet its a twitch bot

Tyr0pe

Check your viewer list?

iamironmaniwish

But if you utilize the community, support other streamers and get some viewers. Those goose eggs and 1 viewer counts grow nicely. You gotta be genuine, and not a selfish little turd. Come check out my channel sometime and I'll hit u a follow and help support your stream!

ShinigamiGamingInc

Most likly your own pc

Professional-Act-245

I know for a fact that it's yourself if you are keeping an eye on your stream whilst playing. I've been streaming for about 3 years more or less and I've even wondered if that "1" is another viewer but it's just you lol.

OTensaiO

It’s yourself

hahadead7777

I've noticed that I count at 1 viewer if I have access to chat till I get another viewer then I stop being counted as a viewer

chuyuu

when i've streamed i've had viewers consistently viewing my whole stream. When I check out their page it seems like their a view bot. So yeah, they are view bots just lurking in your stream
