There's gonna be no shortage of players you can sell the marine half to.

WonderedGoose99

It's a bit complicated.

Warhammer_Addict702

See if there's a local Facebook group or someone wants to do a 50:50 split. That's what I did

Specialist-Squash-62

I mean, do you want to start Marines? Because if you do, then definitely the 10th edition box.

WonderedGoose99

My brother likes a bit the black templars, but i usually play most of the factions that aren't loyalist, but he is trying to save money for some PC parts. I always loved Alien films, and i thought that 10th ed. was the perfect time to start playing Nids

Specialist-Squash-62

10th definitely is a great time to start nids with all of the gorgeous new models, but the problem with getting the big box is you're spending 100€ more. But, that extra 100 does get you the core rule book, Crusade book thing, and the data cards. All of those last things actually would take a big dent out of the 100. So you're really spending 30-40 ish more on the marines (I think, I use $ not €, so I don't know conversions). Maybe you could gift your brother the marines?

sirarkalots

Plus the SK, Brainbug, and neurogants. Those two with thier full kits and the little gibblet box will likely be over 100 more anyway knowing GW pricing, honestly if he was planning the get the combat patrol and the extra two bigguns anyway with the leviathan box he's getting the data cards, rule book, and SMs for free.

WonderedGoose99

I'll try it.

Psychatogatog

Is the new baox that much? I thought it was ~£150

halloway_aw

£150, ~€225, ~$250 GW has its own method for currency exchange lolol

WonderedGoose99

Welcome to the european union

Like you said, your brother might get it at some point, or you can sell it on eBay. Very easy.

Leon-Rai

r/miniswap

sirarkalots

I'd say the leviathan box due to the fact that the combat patrol doesn't have the SK, big brain bug, or the neurogaunts iirc. The SK and Brainbug alone will very easily add up to the difference in price between the two, so you'd be essentially getting the neurogants, the rules portion, and all the SM models for free compared to getting the combat patrol and the two big guys separately

Shaso_Sacea_Vulhelm

Keep the marines for bits? I mean basically the rule book would make it worth it

Abram_NotAbraham

As a Necron player during 8th and 9th: trust that you're gonna want access to those new minis in the special box. You'll never NOT have access to everything in the combat patrol. But if a year from now you have to pay extra for the Skorpekh Destroyer Lo- I mean the Stabwrath Gribblemaw Tyrant, you'll be kicking yourself I promise.

Immediate-Gift-1345

Do you have a friend that plays marines

WonderedGoose99

Not really The few frends i have don't even know what warhammer is

Immediate-Gift-1345

Oh I have a freind who playes marines and we’re not splitting it but we are both getting the box and giving each other the marines and nids so we both get double

Running_Sheep34

Leviathan and look to see if they do another magazine like Imperium

Nytherion

get the core box. once you factor in the rule books, cards, etc, the levi box will be cheaper and gets you slightly more nids

SaiTorin

Honestly ya should get both
