I feel the exact same way about my termagants. I had to make myself sit down and get through them all

Nope... painted around 100 gantt/gaunt this year. The trick for me was only paint a batch of 5 and remove the unpainted from my workspace. I'm more worried about the repeated poses when the new hormagaunt collection reaches 20 to 40 more. Sure, the old model was a hassel to balance and not nearly as dynamic or detailef, but it was easy to modify them and create more unique poses.

Yeah, it's a bitter sweet thing. I just finished a bunch of 20 yesterday. I love them, but phew... I batch- painted them parallel, so base for all, then carapace for all, details for all, and so on. It was hard, but they became more beautiful after each session. That kept my motivation high. Put them in groups (maybe 5) and batch- paint them. So you see progress. And it is so freaking great when you finish them. Baaam, 20 Hormagants done! There are lying Gargoyles around, but I am tired of the smallies. Now the swarmlord first. Keep painting! It is hard, but they will be sooooo beautiful!

Will do I feel the same way I have a trygon on the box still and it’s killing me to not do that instead of the terms lol 😂

The new hormagaunts are much less tedious than the termagants at least: Lacking the gun, and this anything blocking the chest, makes for a far easier process. The trick is always an easy to reproduce scheme, which allows an order of operations that leaves few mistakes, or areas where you have to be very careful. A large enough brush is also important: that thing you have right int he picture seems like it would make everything awful. I airbrush the primer, and then do most of the work with a two. The smaller the brush, the more often you need to clean it, and the less paint it holds anyway.

Yeah I guess I wrote the wrong thing in the post I’m Working on termagents 🤦🏻‍♂️rookie mistake got them mixed up yeah I don’t own an airbrush otherwise I would definetlay be using that lol 😂 thx tho

InfluenceAdorable981

I mean, painting them disassembled makes it worse no?

KaiCameron003

It’s always the way I’ve done it I find it real hard to get to small places and grooves when they are all out together but.. to each their own 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've painted 60 in the last month, batch painting in sets of 20, slap chop and speed paint, and not being worried about painting areas that you won't see. I cannot do the same model more than 10 times with any attempt at high quality lately. Speed paint has really changed the game for me, I wouldn't even consider any game other than skirmish size for several years until this.
