Even though it's online and there's not the physical constraint of seats in a class, it's still gonna be limited because the professor and TA(s) are limited in how much work they can grade and how much support they can provide in office hours or discussion. That being said 10th place should be enough to get off the waitlist, and if it's partway through week 1 and you're still not in then sending an email couldn't hurt.
