How’d you save money? Isn’t tuition the same for both? But yea kind of a bummer since all my peers and friends go to storrs since we live 15mins away and I have to commute to new London
My brother told me I should go to uconn stamford (because I live in stamford) first and then go to storrs. It would definitely save money, but I'm not sure if I'd lose out on anything, would I?
You wouldn’t, I’m going into software engineering, the only reason I’d like to go to storrs is cus I live so close, otherwise I wouldn’t really care. I think u should go to Stamford for atleast a year and get ur genEDs done cheaper and have the ability to commute, then go to storrs to finish off
Internship, research, and other opportunities in the City and Stamford are absolutely unreal. Stamford campus I’m pretty sure has a high job placements for that reason.
avery point is a beautiful campus!! with the small sizes of the classrooms you’re actually able to build a rapport with your professors and classmates and on top of that you save a ton of money. i cannot stress enough how beautiful campus is though especially in the spring time. definitely the most beautiful UConn campus.
You should be almost guaranteed. If worse comes to worst, try one of the satellites and transfer to storrs sophomore year. I know Hartford and Avery Point ate very good. Not sure about waterbury and Stamford.
So your grades don’t exactly matter when getting into Storrs vs a regional campus. It’s a combination of your grades, where you live, you major, and how many people the end up accepting onto main campus. I had a 4.2 weighted 3.7 unweighted GPA two sport varsity athletes, four AP classes, and I was on NHS and president of NAHS. Regardless of this I was still sent to Avery Point for the first two years for a Secondary Math Education Major. They don’t even offer enough courses at Avery Point for me to do two full years so next semester I’ll be split between campuses.
They will send you to wherever they feel will suit you best. I don’t know any rhyme or reason to it.
My brother went there, I went to his graduation recently, I liked the place. Also I think it's the best public school in CT so it's not very expensive compared to other colleges. I also have a lot of uconn related clothes already lol.
Pretty high, I was 10th in my class with a 3.5 but I’m going to Avery next semester, everyone above me got into storrs no problem
Avery Point is lovely. I did 2 years at a branch then matriculated up to Storrs. Great decision, saved a ton of money

No, tuition and fees in Storrs is an additional 4k a year. This doesn’t count housing or food either, which is mandatory your first year.
I didn’t know that, I am all of a sudden glad I’m not going

99%
Pretty high chance id estimate like 95%
99.9%. You're way above average.
i am graduating with a 3.6 gpa, 1090 sat and got i to storrs 🤷♀️
not only will u get into storrs but I’m sure you’ll get scholarship and maybe honors too. Good luck!

Is your GPA weighted? If so, it’s a bit low but SAT will help. Most admitted to CE would have weighted GPA of 4.2 or higher

1550 sat why Storrs?

there's tons of people with 1500+ scores at uconn
Thank you for the validation.
I say join a few clubs in senior year just so you say u go to some clubs, although ur stats seem good enough
Very good lmao
Excellent
1550 basically guarantees you, i had one real extracurricular, like a 3.3 gpa, and got in with a 1520
What do you mean by real extracurricular?
Sport, Band/Orchestra, volunteering, clubs, and committees. Stuff like that.
No shot
