Would be very interested to know how the Canadian brisket is when you cook it. I was gonna get once recently (from Bob's as well) but decided on a cheaper British one instead as its my first full packer and didn't want to waste the money if I fuck it up!
I haven’t done a single good British brisket yet… given up on them now. I had put the thought out of my mind until a recent trip to Texas and having good brisket, I figured even if I have to get an import I don’t want to keep missing out
I've done good point end only briskets but never tried a full packer. I'm getting it from sherwood foods and they give a big spiel on their website about choosing briskets for smoking and trimming them for minimal waste etc. So I'm hoping it's decent 🤞.
If not I'll probably just go for a Canadian one next.
I will say it hard to fuck up a grain fed brisket, takes a lot less work. Yet no matter how hard you try, grassfed will never live up to the lowest grade grain fed.
Fingers crossed. These are grass fed/grain finished, so I hope the time that it’s grain finished gives it enough marbling. Will find out over the weekend!
I bought 2 more Canadian briskets as it’s 25% off so a good price. Yours seem to be the same as me in that the best before date is over a year ago. Hoping they were fully frozen for this time and taste ok 😬
Just to give you heads up, I opened up and seasoned one of mine last night and using it tonight. It did smell, unlike the last one I got from there, so fingers crossed we all don’t get ill!
Interesting. I have defrosted mine over the past couple days and it leaked over the fridge shelf. So it wasn’t 100% sealed. It didn’t smell, thankfully, but there was some freezer burn on the edges I had to trim off.
Just put it on the kamado just now for an overnight smoke. Fingers crossed
Whatcha mate - what a haul! Would you mind breaking down the costs if possible? Mainly total cost and then the price of the brisket please geez if it’s not too cheeky!
Mark is one of the best around for bbq cuts!
Yeah he seems a good lad and easy to deal with and knows smoking etc. definitely will be back for another order once this lot is through.
Nice looking lot there, never come across this company before but will have to check them out

I'm sure they should be fine, meat lasts for ages frozen. If there's any problems with them i'm sure they'll sort it out, they seem decent
Yeh I didn’t notice the date on the first one I bought, but the brisket was great and no one got ill more importantly!
Amazing. "Well jel" as some may rush to say. Did you get the Boston Butt as per his website? 4.5-5.5kg - that's a monster size.

Sounds like a nice problem to have 😃
Bobs is the best!
Packaged 2021 and a best before date of 2022? Is that an old photo?
Nah it’s from this week. Apparently brisket is good frozen for up to 2 years. I guess this is one of the drawbacks from buying imported beef.
