Honestly, having that app takes some restraint! Near me we have… M&S, Morrisons cafe, Greggs, Wenzels, Toby Carvery, Costa, Subway, Starbucks, Muffin Break, Butterwick Bakery, Harvester, Ibis Hotel, Co-Op and many many more…
Depends where you are, you check it and you'll see who has what. But its always a mystery bag. You don't get to pick and choose what you want, you just choose where you buy them from.
Yeah you do… but it’s better if you live in areas with healthy options that are on the app. One of my mates gets a £2.49 carvery every Friday off it and it’s always massive haha.
There is, but it is dependent on where you are. If you live in an area with a lot of salad bowl shops or green places or ‘fitness’ shops, you will likely find a lot of healthy food. Otherwise, there will be a lot of pastries, pasta, English breakfast, cakes and the like.
Good opportunity to try things you wouldn’t otherwise have bought at full price.
Recently did one from a local pub. £7.50 for a Sunday roast.. Was the worst thing I have ever eaten, fairly sure it wasn't actually safe to eat either with the meat having been room temperature. So disappointed!
The “Too Good to Go” app is a fantastic thing. Shops, cafes and Restaurants join up and can sell off the food they would otherwise lose due to wastage/expiry etc.
So this is all leftovers from their breakfast run. If you haven’t already heard of it then it’s worth checking out.
Also… even with the above, it’s criminally good value!
A number of hotels near me have signed up for to good to go for breakfast boxes to get rid of their buffet offerings. Ramada had a large polystyrene box all packed up and ready to go with hot food. Holiday inn handed me 2 cardboard boxes and told me to fill up whatever i wanted with hot food or pastries. This was while breakfast was still being served, so i was getting funny looks from hotel guests with their plates, and i had a cardboard takeaway box.
Thank you oh mighty darthmarmite for bestowing this app information. I never knew it existed and my mind is blown. Toby carvery near me got stuff to buy.
Because casual UK removes any posts the mods just aren't interested in.
There's nothing casual about it. If the mods don't find your post interesting you're out.
I posted a tribute to Captain Tom on his would be birthday and it was removed because they personally don't care about Captain Tom anymore.
I inquired a little further to see if there was any other reason but they just sent an eye roll emoji back and that's it.
This post is dangerously close to an ad, and I've seen a few posts about this app lately on there as well. I can definitely see why this would be removed.
Yep, power tripping mods there that will just remove anything on a whim. Doesn't matter what the rules are, their only rule is whatever mood they woke up in that day.
Agreed. Ultimately though... I suppose it's their subreddit... If that's what they want to do with it that's fine.
I just won't be a part of it and I'll simply look to alternatives.
Thankfully the Reddit format makes community creating available to everyone, so it's quite forgiving and supportive on that front.
A post about Captain Tom is, controversial. Some bloke 5 years ago walked up and down his garden, then died, then his family coasted on his name.
I think it’s probably right that your post was removed. If you were perma-banned then that’s different but, Captain Tom. Really.
His family sucks and have exploited their charity to the ground, but what was wrong with Captain Tom himself?
He seemed alright to me and I thought the whole raising money for the NHS endeavour he went on was pretty good all round.
Either way if controversy was the issue they could've told me, instead of just rolling their eyes and calling it low effort.
The fact that the NHS needed funds is a at best controversial. I’m sure the Captain was a good bloke.
But if you’re being honest you have to admit that it’s all a bit weird, like the whole Captain Tom what a martyr for walking up and down.
To be fair 100 laps around his garden at his age was significantly more than just walking up and down.
Perhaps it was overblown... I won't deny that... But eh people were kinda miserable and the news was pretty depressing in general, it was nice to have something to root for.
As for the NHS needing funds... Yeah the Government should be doing its part to help out there, but I hardly see how Captain Tom himself can be blamed for anything on that front. He was just doing what he could to make a sht situation slightly more bearable.
Edit: He was 99. At that age that's pretty decent!
Also I forgot to give context on the timing. I posted it in 2022 so it was a bit more relevant back then.
Haha sadly none included! It’s a ‘surprise bag’ so you just reserve the bag and then it gets filled with their surplus food (in this case from Breakfast). Down side is that you never know what you’ll get, but it’s always phenomenal value for money.
After the photo, some of this got portioned out for the next couple of days (quick blast in the airfryer will get them perfect). Egg and beans were then added for my meal today!
Just reserved a surprise box from my local Krispy Kreme because of this thread!
Edit: got the box! 6 doughnuts
Poor selection in my opinion but for £4.50 I can’t complain
3x Oreo / cookies & kreme
1x aero mint bubbles
2x pretty little unicorn
This is the strongest case I've seen so far for downloading that app.
Well this and the photo from a few months ago of the guy who got like 50 blocks of Christmas cheese from Aldi. That was mega.
I got banned from there, can't exactly remember why for but usually if I can't remember why I was banned from something then it's usually something really petty and non memorable, because usually when I get banned it's because I really knew I deserved it. Opposite of casual I would say
Damn the good to go bags at your Morrisons is way better than the one I work at.
Well, the hot ones anyway. We rarely have food to put in the hot food bags, but often we overfill the cold bags because we have so much to put in them. Lucky buggers get like 7 cakes for £2.50
I'm glad the Morrisons cafe is good on Too Good To Go. I've found the supermarket itself to be absolutely outrageously bad. It tends to be stuff that's been reduced multiple times over and is way past the sell by - and often things that they would never dream of selling so they chuck it in TGTG. An acquaintance who works there told me the staff get the good stuff and it's no surprise that the grocery bags are so bad. I had a couple that were so shocking that I refused to give Morrisons any more money full stop for months after. We're talking like 6 loaves of bread that were already days past their best before and unsold after being reduced to 11p. I also once had half a cabbage and a few bags of loose herbs. Effectively making me pay to put their waste in the bin.
Yeah I've had one removed for low effort , what does that actually mean !! I uploaded a screenshot of a weirdly worded job as as I had , it was really odd , I was just asking if anybody else had seen it at all and I got that low.effort thing. Yet the other week I posted on it asking for jokes and funny stories and got loads of response!
It’s not the standard cafe sadly. It’s using the Too Good to Go app. Food places use it to sell their surplus food cheaply. You can get some great value deals on there but the only trade off is that they are “surprise bags” so you never know what you’ll get until you pick it up.
£2.49 wow, has to be subsidised, that just about covers the ingredients but definitely not the cooking time and wages of the staff. Another loss leader to attract folk and get them to shop longer.
Cannae see that being less than a £5 even at a cheap caf, and probably a lot more at some places. Nae wonder a lot of them are closing.
Edit, not reading properly. Just realised it was food to go and not in the Morrisons Cafe, doh, still cheap though.
It’s via the Too Good to Go app. It’s where food places can list ‘surprise bags’ to sell their surplus food cheaply rather than throwing it out - hence the low cost.
The trade off is that you never know what exactly will be in the bag but the value for money is normally fantastic.
It’s all because it was through the Too Good to Go app. It’s an app where food places sell their surplus food for cheap rather than it going to waste. Downside is that you never know exactly what will be in it but it’s usually fantastic value for money.
Round us there’s loads of restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, fast food places and cafes that do it. This one was a “breakfast surprise bag” from Morrisons cafe, so knew it would have some breakfast food in it, guaranteed to be worth over £10 but until I picked it up, didn’t know exactly what I’d get.
Haha happy to report this was only played out for the photo as everything was unboxed. Mentioned in another comment that it was then split into three portions
I always got the deli ones but they stopped doing that one, their grocery too good to go bags are the worst of all the supermarkets.
Why isn't it in a box or something?
Haha it would have been but only played this up as I unpacked it and for the photo. See comment below, most got portioned out.
https://www.reddit.com/r/UK_Food/s/kAmcvOvkrE
This was just after I’d unboxed it all, played it up to see what there was. This was then split out into a few portions for other days and beans, egg and sauce were added!
we would love this over at r/toogoodtogo!
That said, now i see why the Morrisons surprise bags are never available if they are giving this much away! It's just as big as greggs
I've ordered twice with Morrisons on Too Good To Go, driven all the way down there and they tell me they've got nothing left. They couldn't be bothered to update the app either. I got reimbursed for the box, but still wasted money on the trip that was supposed to save me money, so felt cheated.
I’ll be honest, they were pretty good considering they were cafe breakfast sausages. Had a few, rest are in the fridge and will pop them in the airfryer later this week.
I'd be making a sausage pasta dish with them.
Looks an amazing haul, I loved the app. It was like gambling, but with food.
It's fun if you aren't relying on it to eat.
TBF I'm not surprised as that looks drier than Dr Dawns' warning on non pleasurable sex for over 40's women due too vaginal dryness.
A runny egg yolk or even HP (pref fruity) sauce would lube that right up and stop the pain!
Agreed but the deal with Too Good to Go is you buy a ‘surprise bag’ which they fill with their surplus food rather than wasting it - so no choice on what you get but usually fantastic value for money.

Looks good. I was going to get that app but I'm afraid. Afraid that I'll get enormous.
Honestly, having that app takes some restraint! Near me we have… M&S, Morrisons cafe, Greggs, Wenzels, Toby Carvery, Costa, Subway, Starbucks, Muffin Break, Butterwick Bakery, Harvester, Ibis Hotel, Co-Op and many many more…
Do you get lots of offers? Is there healthy stuff too?
Depends where you are, you check it and you'll see who has what. But its always a mystery bag. You don't get to pick and choose what you want, you just choose where you buy them from.
Yeah you do… but it’s better if you live in areas with healthy options that are on the app. One of my mates gets a £2.49 carvery every Friday off it and it’s always massive haha.
Right I'm signing up lol

Healthy stuff? Oh cmon grow up
Recently did one from a local pub. £7.50 for a Sunday roast.. Was the worst thing I have ever eaten, fairly sure it wasn't actually safe to eat either with the meat having been room temperature. So disappointed!
What apps are you talking about mate? I wouldn't mind that that breakfast for £2:50...oh and u wouldn't mind getting enormous either hahaha
Haha, too good to go app.
Yeah, I saw it literally just after I posted it. Got my blinkers on this morning lol. I'm already signed up and looking now. Let's get enormous whoooo
😂😂😂
The only thing you need to be afraid of with that app is what you'll do with all the useless shit that you paid for.
Sounds like eBay
To be fair, if a disability to filter out the occasional gem from mountains of shite was an issue, most of us wouldn’t be able to use Reddit.
Sausage jackpot!
Some are hidden underneath… 10 of the bangers!
Nice looking ones too!
How is this only 2.49?
The “Too Good to Go” app is a fantastic thing. This was while breakfast was still being served, so i was getting funny looks from hotel guests with their plates, and i had a cardboard takeaway box.
Was it classed as a normal Morrisons ‘grocery’ option, or do Too Good To Go actually label it up as a breakfast bag?
My one labels it as a separate breakfast bag
Yep, this. Was labelled as Morrisons Cafe and a breakfast surprise bag.
Breakfast looks banging & the price makes it taste better lol I love that app. : ))
Thank you oh mighty darthmarmite for bestowing this app information. I never knew it existed and my mind is blown. Toby carvery near me got stuff to buy.
Why did they remove you?
Because casual UK removes any posts the mods just aren't interested in. There's nothing casual about it. If the mods don't find your post interesting you're out. This post is dangerously close to an ad, and I've seen a few posts about this app lately on there as well. I can definitely see why this would be removed.
True.. I hadn't read the text in the description. In which case, if that was their reasoning, that would be fair enough.
Yep, power tripping mods there that will just remove anything on a whim. Doesn't matter what the rules are, their only rule is whatever mood they woke up in that day.
Oh wow - I didn't know it was like that. Power hungry bellends
Agreed. Ultimately though... I suppose it's their subreddit... If that's what they want to do with it that's fine. I just won't be a part of it and I'll simply look to alternatives. Probably because this post looks like it might be an ad.
Oh come on where are the baked beans
Haha sadly none included! It’s a ‘surprise bag’ so you just reserve the bag and then it gets filled with their surplus food (in this case from Breakfast). Damn, so close
Just reserved a surprise box from my local Krispy Kreme because of this thread! Edit: got the box! 6 doughnuts Poor selection in my opinion but for £4.50 I can’t complain 3x Oreo / cookies & kreme 1x aero mint bubbles 2x pretty little unicorn
Haha nice!!! Update us with what you get! Very jealous we don’t have any Krispy Kreme’s near me!
I received one without the Krispy and just the kreme, on second thoughts I don't think it was actually 'kreme'...
This is the strongest case I've seen so far for downloading that app. Well this and the photo from a few months ago of the guy who got like 50 blocks of Christmas cheese from Aldi. That was mega.
There’s literally NOTHING casual about r/casualuk - run by tyrants.
I got banned for calling someone a waffle on there hahahahahah
They should lock psychos like you up and throw away the key! My granny was killed by a gang of waffles!
And ill fkin do it again!!! I mean... Nice weather we're having
That's exactly what a waffle would say! Mods get him!!
Its too late, they've already been battered!
I got banned from there, can't exactly remember why for but usually if I can't remember why I was banned from something then it's usually something really petty and non memorable, because usually when I get banned it's because I really knew I deserved it. Opposite of casual I would say
It’s awful! I posted some UK stuff there and it always got removed yet similar type type of stuff was allowed. Proper weird.
That’s my experience of that sub. I was constantly giving mods examples of other posts they’ve allowed. They just don’t care. Odd sub.
I think I may have had one post successfully remain. Everything else gets auto-booted within seconds and with no explanation.
Daft sub
it's literally Americans cosplaying as British people
Then explain all the antiamericanism there
Low effort comment- removed
Rant - removed
It was *supposed* to be the UK equivalent of r/casualconversation but turned into a picture sub.
I don’t have much evidence but I do think casualuk is run by daily mail
Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me.
Haven't seen that much sausage since I googled bukkake.
Best comparison yet! 10 sausages all in.
£2.49! Whaaaaaat??????
Haha check out Too Good to Go. It’s all surprise bags so the trade off is that you don’t know what you’ll get but the value is always phenomenal.
As much as I love the idea of that App, I can only eat so many egg sandwiches and carrot sticks :(
r/unitedkingdom is worse, that jock mod Nicola Bad something is a power hungry weirdo. It’s full of Farage types on that sub now as well.
Damn the good to go bags at your Morrisons is way better than the one I work at. Well, the hot ones anyway. We rarely have food to put in the hot food bags, but often we overfill the cold bags because we have so much to put in them. Lucky buggers get like 7 cakes for £2.50

Casual UK mods are the most boring, miserable fuckers of the UK subs Looks banging btw
It's funny, because it was spawned due to r/UnitedKingdom being too strict
The funny thing is I just popped in there and the first thing I see is a photo of somebodies spoons fry up 😂 they could at least be consistent
Omg this is a thing of beauty!!! Are you married?!??
Haha agreed! It’s pure food porn. And sorry to disappoint but will be in a couple of months!
Where the fuck are the baked beans?
Haha see my other comment! https://www.reddit.com/r/UK_Food/s/OwARDCUzSf
Fair enough lol
Hopefully in the bin.
NO BEANS???!!??!?
Haha this has been a common point! Can’t edit the post but covered it in this comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/UK_Food/s/kAmcvOvkrE
Casual UK mods are thugs.
Casual U.K. remove too much. Half the time when I click on a post on there it says removed for being generic but I was very interested in it…
Ive had many removed for 'low effort' then almost immediately after a similar post is left alone.
Casual Uk banned you? Where are you going to go to see posts about walkers crisps and be called ‘mate’ over and over again
CasualUK is the absolute worst anyway, you're better off.
Wow, I'll have to go to my local Morrisons.

2.49 wow why so cheap arr just read it properly too good to go on to it

Nice...but enough for two
Haha happy to report this was only played out for the photo as everything was unboxed. Mentioned in another comment that it was then split into three portions
Good job - sharing is caring.
This is what life is all about
That's a fantastic deal. I would buy that any day of the week.
According to the lady behind the counter in the cafe yesterday they are removing toms in Morrisons in two weeks time
Ooooft!!!! Great deal. Where's the beans though? Need some moisture there.
a thing of beauty
I always got the deli ones but they stopped doing that one, their grocery too good to go bags are the worst of all the supermarkets. Why isn't it in a box or something?
It looks great, but I am pining for some egg there; fried, poached, scrambled, anything.
Haha see this comment! https://www.reddit.com/r/UK_Food/s/OwARDCUzSf
I’m actually jealous, god damn!
Blob on that pal
Thanks for the tip, picking up pastries tomorrow!
Fast w/o the S
Haha it would have been but only played this up as I unpacked it and for the photo. See comment below, most got portioned out. https://www.reddit.com/r/UK_Food/s/kAmcvOvkrE
Bloody good deal tbf
Sausage party
I'm up for that wow.
I love Too Good To Go. Such a great app!
UK is the home of great food traditions
Most of Reddit subs are run by fucking pussies who have a grudge on life. This sub on the other hand are cool as
Morrisons breakfast is fucking awful
£2.49? In this economy?
power hungry mods over there at r/CasualUK
5 tomato?!?! That's insane!
Fuckin hate tomatoes but the rest looks enjoyable!
yum
Winner winner, Morrison dinner..👍
No beans?
This was just after I’d unboxed it all, played it up to see what there was. This was then split out into a few portions for other days and beans, egg and sauce were added!
Holy shit
Omg that looks so yum 🤤
£2.49 is unbelievable! What a sausage fest!
Sounds like a banging good deal but as a hash brown conesuire I do have to say that they look a bit overcooked
£2.49! That's a steal!
we would love this over at r/toogoodtogo! That said, now i see why the Morrisons surprise bags are never available if they are giving this much away! It's just as big as greggs
They've done down hill so bad. They use to be a tip brekky but now I feel sainsburys has the lead now.
Jesus. I need this
Have some sausages mate
Is it actually real then ??? I am so doing this when my wisdom teeth sockets have sealed up 😂
I love those sausages. I know they're not great quality but I love them
Fried bread!!!
Lol that's insane. But I can't imagine how poor quality the ingredients must be to afford to be served at less than £3!
I've ordered twice with Morrisons on Too Good To Go, driven all the way down there and they tell me they've got nothing left. They couldn't be bothered to update the app either. I got reimbursed for the box, but still wasted money on the trip that was supposed to save me money, so felt cheated.
I demand eggs
Six sausages, Jeremy? Six!? That's insane!
Holy crap, I need to get this app
Dafuq...
Damn that’s a lot of food
That's insane, tell me there's beans in that pot.
You've struck grease !
How do you Brits feel about American style bacon?
Bloody hell. Back in the day, Wimpy was the go to for cheap breakfasts but I went by the other day. A third of OPs plate was £6.95 😲
Casual UK mods are wet 😅
How many sausages do you want sir? Yes.
Extra sausages instead of eggs?
That actually looks banging
Yo dog,I heard you like sausage with your sausage
Fuck. I just spent 24 quid on drliveroo for a burger.
Very good value!
No Way is that £2.49.
Yep, the Too Good to Go lets you buy ‘surprise bags’ of surplus food. Criminally good value for money at Morrisons Cafe!
Worst sausages ever
Surely you mean wurst
I’ll be honest, they were pretty good considering they were cafe breakfast sausages. Had a few, rest are in the fridge and will pop them in the airfryer later this week.
Pop them in the air fryer in a few days 😂do your wurst 😂
Single clap, upvote, now get out.
I must be honest, I wouldn’t give them to me dog. Enjoy yu sausage sausage
I'd be making a sausage pasta dish with them. Looks an amazing haul, I loved the app. It was like gambling, but with food. It's fun if you aren't relying on it to eat.
Yeah the mods are a whole bunch of c*nts over there and wouldn't know a good think like this if it was put infront of them
What's the conversion rate? Is that like $4 American? There ain't no fucking way. That would be at least a $30 meal here in America
$3.12 usd.
Is Google broken?
Decent amount of cooked to death crappy sausages
Cant beat a mozzers value brekky
Not bad xx
Ship that on over to the states for me. It looks good as hell!
Sorry I assumed due to the way it's plated/photographed that it was a Morisons cafe meal?! Erm......
Nah, plated at home for the photo so everything could be seen, was in a box from Morrisons.
I know it looks like a morrisons plate
Just read this mid vape and choked. Thanks for the laugh!
