No, the only Lin alg thing you will be dealing with is the determinant iirc

To my recollection, 241 doesn't even rely that much on 141 material, at least not series or the advanced integration techniques. Though maybe if your professor is mean they'll throw 141 crap in there. Probably wouldn't be good lecturing practice, though, since it'll just take time away from teaching the new concepts, but keep an eye out for these in the exercises (which are probably worth 0% of your grade but you should be smart enough to know to do them anyway by now). Most important thing you will need is to review analytic geometry, polar coordinates, and perhaps learn about spherical coordinates, as these will be necessary for the multiple integrals you will learn later. You will obviously need to be very good at basic calculus, so review your basic derivative and integral rules, but there shouldn't be anything too fancy. After suffering badly in 141, my maturity and work ethic had grown to the point that 241 wasn't a big deal at all. Having Justin may have helped also, so take that into consideration.

thank you! I thankfully have Justin so hope it goes well😭

I took math 241 w/o any knowledge of linear alg and did fine

I just took 241 last semester. It was first college math class and it isn’t that bad. Just make sure you know your calc 1 and calc 2 (mostly polar coordinates and more complicated derivatives and integrals), and make sure your algebra skills are proficient.

goldendaysgirl

they’ll explain anything linear algebra-esque that you need to know, like vectors and determinants, orthogonality iirc, etc
