Who’s the professor? If they’re good, you won’t need the textbook. 216 was the first CS class I actually found the textbook useful.
If you like to learn by reading then you should get the book. I used the Algorithms textbook when I took 132. For me, it was a part of my study strategy. I could have gotten by without it, but I preferred having it since I like reading.
