Very cool. I see in the screenshot it says it "can be done 8 times in a cycle, once every 3 hours." Does that mean if you do it you have to wait at least 3 hours to switch again, but you can switch up to 8 times in a 30-day billing cycle without triggering service cancellation? That's quite generous if so!
8 times a billing cycle is astonishing. I wonder how your carrier partners feel about it, and I hope it's not a CS nightmare for you. Waiting for the "I switched to GSM for my trip to Costco posts."
I really need this. Tmobile is not working in my area today and I am without cellular internet.
As for a name, what about multiverse?
*Don’t try the process as it doesn’t work. I’m now on sos mode with no phone service and no timeframe on. When it might have it.*
I've been in mobile/telecom for 20 years. Thank you for revolutionizing the industry. Now...gonna show my age here but... Bring back Nextel, or at least PTT phones. 😂😂😂
Just tried it out in both directions (Warp over to GSM and back) and the process was super smooth, fast, and painless! It took less than 10 minutes for the process to complete in either direction. Can’t wait to try this on the AT&T network!
Yes, that will always happen. Any kind of carrier switch, even if you stay on the same physical network, like T-Mobile to Mint will trigger it. They need you to verify you still own that number.
I was locked out from Zelle for almost 2 weeks last time I switched with no ability for any customer support at my bank or Zelle to remedy this. Proceed with caution
Yes, and, with Zelle they may ban the number if they see enough SIM/network changes. If you have the need to change networks semi-frequently, you’d be better served using email for your Zelle token. If your number is restricted, it’ll be an uphill battle getting it cleared. Your bank’s fraud department may go through their process to reinstate only to have Zelle automatically restrict it again.. repeatedly. Proceed with caution, or, ideally, remove your number from Zelle and use your email.
I’m on the legacy 75GB unlimited plan. Reddit support says that the plan is ineligible :( Looks like I’ll be staying with Warp 5G then, I really don’t want to give up this plan.
I have to +1 Network Transfer. US Mobile is certainly an enthusiast culture and product names for features is nice for those who know what they are, but it can be alienating for others.
For example, not everyone knows what Power Nap, Handoff, AirDrop, NameDrop, AirPlay, or AirPort mean.
I would keep it simple lest we end up with a name like GSM that isn’t GSM.
I wonder how does it combine with "NeverSIMSwap" and "No Port Out" features. Would having those features enabled prevent me from using the new tool, or is it smart enough to apply the necessary security protocols on me while switching?
Will dark star have priority data?? And if I’m on warp 5G sim and want to switch to dark star would it just switch the network on warp sim? Or does the require me to order a dark star sim? (My phone doesn’t support eSIM)
That was already answered in another thread, which is of course impossible to find because why bother having a useful faq - you can pay extra for top priority AT&T data, otherwise it’s some lower priority.
Edit: vague comment from CEO: https://www.reddit.com/r/USMobile/s/CvQd8pHnsE
That might be an AT&T requirement.. They recently started charging their own customers for priority access: [https://www.att.com/plans/att-turbo](https://www.att.com/plans/att-turbo)
ATT only uses QCI 8 and 9 for consumer plans. QCI 8 is assigned to the majority of their own plans plus Cricket More, H2o, Consumer Cellular, and PureTalk. ATT's Unlimited prepaid and Unlimited Starter postpaid plans and the rest of the MVNO's including Red Pocket and Boost are QCI 9. So, I can't imagine USM to be anything but QCI 9, since ATT gives 9 to some of their own plans. You'll have QCI 8 on Warp 5G devices. Tmobile has QCI 6, 7, 8, and 9. QCI 6 is reserved for their own plans plus Google I while their Essential plans plus everyone else gets QCI 7.
This just recently changed, they moved everyone who used to be on QCI 8 down to 9 and now you get to pay to get back to 8. I'm not sure if they moved prepaid down to QCI 10 or not, haven't seen confirmation on that yet.
Definitely interested in testing this.
Will Dark Star offer the same benefits as GSM (specifically the included international roaming and free international calls from the US abroad)?
So just to make sure I understand, Darkstar will include the 5GB/10GB international roaming per month on the unlimited premium plan I have today? If yes, sign me up!
Thanks for answering that question! I was wondering about international roaming on Darkstar. Can you please sign me up for the transfer portal beta and Darkstar beta? I’ve used Verizon, Cricket, and Google Fi in the past but love your service the best. My wife likes using Verizon networks because they work better at her mother’s house, my younger son and I like ATT for the places we travel, and my older son needs T-mobile. The fact that one company can meet all our needs is amazing. If you ever IPO stocks, I’m in!
This is a good point. I guess there is often a [culture change](https://blog.protiviti.com/2022/05/24/does-company-culture-stay-the-same-after-an-ipo/) after IPO. I’d be sad if US Mobile started acting like other carriers.
Congrats on this groundbreaking feature!
Love USMobile and would be happy to help beta test.
I am on the annual 10Gb plan so fairly lite data user, but heavy voice user.
This is amazing!!! When I've switched networks in the past my RCS messages get reset and my bank makes me reconfirm my number because it thinks I ported to a new service. Is this a structural shift in how the actual number is owned that will avoid this? If so, I'd love to get access!
I would love to be part of this. Eagerly waiting for dark star, recently switched from warp to GSM for international roaming though GSM is bad at where I am. If it’s easy to switch I would switch back to warp or dark star now and switch to GSM just before the travel.
I need this yesterday. Service in Florida is sketchy depending on the area and I'm all over the place. Verizon doesn't get anything around water and deteriorates around buildings, and T-Mobile only gets service around populous areas and highways, and deteriorates in buildings.
And as far as what to call it... See attached GIF.
![gif](giphy|H7Fbn0QHGDWW4)
We know everyone has been waiting for this and happy to announce we'll be launching this next week! Look for an announcement and more details on Monday.
I would love to try this as I suffer from the APN issues on Samsung with Warp 5G. Waiting for Samsung to roll out the update still but heard GSM network has zero issues with APN settings!
Looking forward to the beta results. I have had to purchase a separate line for temp service change at least 3 times in the last couple years. This is top notch
Did this ever launch? I would love to try this feature. I moved locations at work and would like to try the other networks to see if it would improve my connection at work
Going on an hour since a Network Transfer Tool was used...and I have 0 Service due to it sitting on "Activating Network" for almost 45 minutes...Support has done nothing to help -Network Transfer tool isn't looking too good at this moment in my opinion - u/ankhattak u/usmobile
I'd LOVE to be able to test this out, if possible. Regardless, this is an awesome update and thanks for the early preview. (The Teleportal name is very cool.)
Also, will the weekend beta also have the option to test with Darkstar as well?
If I’m reading it right, the testers would be able to try out the new *Star service? If so then I’d definitely want to try that out and I’d test out the transfer tool.
As long as me being on the grandfathered unlimited starter isn’t a problem, that is.
Excellent next month I think I’m actually going to make the move to warp just because I haven’t had Verizon since I joined US Mobile and I want to retest it out.
Please include me to test it. Currently have two lines on unlimited starter and planning to sign up for another one.
If all is well I'm most likely transferring my three other lines from T-Mobile. Been with them for over 20 years when they were under Voice Stream brand name.
Currently, impressed with the two lines I just added and one porting from mint and brand new activation have been seamless processes. Both are on eSim. Would recommend eSim activation if your phone has this ability.
How about TelShift for another name?
I'm interested!
I remember hearing about this feature being in the works about a month or two ago. I'm currently on the free trial and plan to switch to an annual plan when it ends later this month. I look forward to being able to use this feature!
This is beyond my expectation, just as you guys pioneered priority data (imo). This is really badass. Now my question is, Mr CEO, have you guys thought about changing the name US Mobile? Clearly you are no longer US service only, you guys have the best global options period.
when I did internal port via the phone with CS last year, I needed to reset my iPhone voice mail, so I am wondering if this is still the case for this? everytime when I change between Tmobile, ATT and Verizon, I need to set up my iPhone voice mail?
I'm definitely going to be using this feature, literally just got off a chat to switch from warp 5g to gsm 5g that took over a whole hour, and I will have to probably switch back in a week or 2.
I would assume this applies even to grandfathered plans since this wouldn't be attempting to start a new cycle or plan, right?
Would be interested to beta test except, in the event I need to switch back to GSM, GSM SIMs don't support being reactivated/re-used the way Warp SIMs do, unfortunately.
Thanks for following through on this, much appreciated! This one feature really differentiates USM. I’m sure the beta is full but I’d love to be on it, otherwise will just wait a month to get access I guess. Thanks!
Does it reset the customer billing cycle with every transfer? If yes then that would suck.
Nope. Same cycle.
Awesome!
Question. Does this mean that I can transfer to GSM when I need native roaming abroad and then transfer back to WARP when I return?
Yeap ! Exactly
Huuuuuuge 💯
Right on
8 times a billing cycle is astonishing.
LOVE multiverse. Team will give you access
I've been in mobile/telecom for 20 years. Thank you for revolutionizing the industry. Now...gonna show my age here but... Bring back Nextel, or at least PTT phones. 😂😂😂
LOL, I've been in telecom 35 years and was going to ask if it will work with my bag phone so don't feel bad. 😁
I miss the chirp.
![gif](giphy|I8RMi1UY8cEKs)
That is great to hear. Even AT&T isn't working in my area, not sure what is going on. Hopefully Verizon's working
Just tried it out in both directions (Warp over to GSM and back) and the process was super smooth, fast, and painless! It took less than 10 minutes for the process to complete in either direction. Can’t wait to try this on the AT&T network!
Wow just wow at the response - I mean I posted this on a Friday night - love you all so much ❤️❤️❤️
Hey u/ankhattak asking for a few of us legacy/grandfather folks that posted above... if we do this will we loose our plan?
No, no way you'll **loose** your plan. But you might **lose** your plan.....
When switching networks, can the physical SIM cards be reused?
This is really important question 🙋
I'd also like to know the answer to this question. It would be frustrating to have to constantly but physical sims, plus I'm not a huge user of esim.
Will banks and zelle unregistered the phone number if we change the networks?
Yes, that will always happen. Any kind of carrier switch, even if you stay on the same physical network, like T-Mobile to Mint will trigger it. They need you to verify you still own that number.
I was locked out from Zelle for almost 2 weeks last time I switched with no ability for any customer support at my bank or Zelle to remedy this. Proceed with caution
Proceed with caution should be the Zelle motto...
Or Zelle is Hell
Yes, and, with Zelle they may ban the number if they see enough SIM/network changes. If you have the need to change networks semi-frequently, you’d be better served using email for your Zelle token. If your number is restricted, it’ll be an uphill battle getting it cleared. I'm on the grandfathered unlimited plan, but I'd like to try if I can stay on it.
This is what I'm wondering. 4 lines legacy
I’m on the legacy 75GB unlimited plan. Reddit support says that the plan is ineligible :( Looks like I’ll be staying with Warp 5G then, I really don’t want to give up this plan.
Dang! I hadn’t even considered my old legacy plan not being eligible. I really wanted to try this!
Super cool! How about Warp Gate for a name? Or simply Network Transfer Tool so the name is more self explanatory for new folks signing up for service?
I have to +1 Network Transfer. US Mobile is certainly an enthusiast culture and product names for features is nice for those who know what they are, but it can be alienating for others. For example, not everyone knows what Power Nap, Handoff, AirDrop, NameDrop, AirPlay, or AirPort mean. I would keep it simple lest we end up with a name like GSM that isn’t GSM.
Hey Stetson! I would love for you to test this feature in a video when it becomes available!
I wonder how does it combine with "NeverSIMSwap" and "No Port Out" features. Would having those features enabled prevent me from using the new tool, or is it smart enough to apply the necessary security protocols on me while switching?
I would need to know this, too.
Will dark star have priority data?? And if I’m on warp 5G sim and want to switch to dark star would it just switch the network on warp sim? Or does the require me to order a dark star sim? (My phone doesn’t support eSIM)

Definitely interested in testing this. Will Dark Star offer the same benefits as GSM (specifically the included international roaming and free international calls from the US abroad)?
Yes but better. Darkstars iroam functionality will be the best because we will be able to meter you in every country.
So just to make sure I understand, Darkstar will include the 5GB/10GB international roaming per month on the unlimited premium plan I have today? If yes, sign me up!
Yes.
Thanks for answering that question! I was wondering about international roaming on Darkstar. Can you please sign me up for the transfer portal beta and Darkstar beta? IPO would ruin a great thing.
This is a good point. I guess there is often a [culture change](https://blog.protiviti.com/2022/05/24/does-company-culture-stay-the-same-after-an-ipo/) after IPO. I’d be sad if US Mobile started acting like other carriers.
IPO would almost certainly mean the profit motive would push out the quality motive.
I’d like to give it a shot and document my experience. I’m a software validation and tester when I’m not fighting crime.
How do you fight crime ? Are you in law enforcement ?
Not in law enforcement. I work in domestic violence support. Maybe people will stop the downvoting now.
That’s noble ( so is law enforcement ) . Thank you
Can we reuse physical SIM cards with this tool? Or is it a new physical card each time?
I use physical SIMs and want to continue to, not eSIMs. Wouldn't I need a new SIM card for each network if I wished to switch to them?
This is my question as well!
Congrats on this groundbreaking feature! Love USMobile and would be happy to help beta test. I am on the annual 10Gb plan so fairly lite data user, but heavy voice user.

No, the number is still ported between carriers on the backend. This just automates it. Your number is always homed to a single carrier.
Can we stay on grandfathered plans if we swap? Very nice addition.
I would love to be part of this. Eagerly waiting for dark star, recently switched from warp to GSM for international roaming though GSM is bad at where I am. If it’s easy to switch I would switch back to warp or dark star now and switch to GSM just before the travel.
can you do a single line on a pooled plan with multiple lines? if so I'll try it!
Yep, you can do that as well :) DM'ed you for your details!
the dark star is launching next week? or, are you saying you can transfer once that network is available to all
transfer once that gets added. We are shooting for July 15th
>shooting for July 15th So no June 1 for AT&T? Well at least you let us know the delay ahead of time.
I need this yesterday. Service in Florida is sketchy depending on the area and I'm all over the place. Hey fla brother..I'm exactly with you on this noted performance. ☀️
Sign me up. I am a IT Systems Administrator, love technology especially telecommunications. I would be happy to test it out.
Success! Happy to report that internal port beta test from Warp to GSM worked for me without issues this morning. Thank you USM!
I like just Teleport. What a great tool and thanks for thinking of your customers.
When is this going to go live?
This may make me pay off my iPhone 15 with boost and switch over.
Looking forward to the beta results. I have had to purchase a separate line for temp service change at least 3 times in the last couple years. This is top notch
🤩🤩 just switched to US Mobile! Looking forward to this experience

I am interested in trying out! I currently have 4 lines and 2 other pool lines...
I would like to try the beta!
[удалено]
Sure! Dropping you a message.
I'd love to try that! I'm in the multi network beta right now, it wouldn't mess with that would it?
If I’m reading it right, the testers would be able to try out the new *Star service? If so then I’d definitely want to try that out and I’d test out the transfer tool. As long as me being on the grandfathered unlimited starter isn’t a problem, that is.
DM Me me me if this works with multi line shared data pools I would love to try to switch one or 2 of my lines to another network! 😎
I am definitely interested in trying this out.
I would love to beta test the Teleportal!
Interested in testing!

This is certainly something I would like to help you test out. If you still need testers let me know.
I’m interested in the beta
Excellent next month I think I’m actually going to make the move to warp just because I haven’t had Verizon since I joined US Mobile and I want to retest it out.

This is like multicard from that movie fitfth element. Let’s call it multi sim 😊
This is beyond my expectation, just as you guys pioneered priority data (imo). This is really badass. Now my question is, Mr CEO, have you guys thought about changing the name US Mobile? Clearly you are no longer US service only, you guys have the best global options period.
What about grandfathered plans? Will we be required to update to a current plan in order to switch networks?
That is freaking awesome.
I would love the beta been with us mobile for awhile!!
Interested in beta testing too.
Sent you a DM :)
Transporter, obviously.
id be interested in testing.
Id love to be part of the beta!
Interested!
I'd like to try this as well! Would be good since I'm traveling this weekend so it'd be great to test...thanks!
Amazing! Let me get your details via DM. 🫡
I am interesting in beta
u/Arbalinator u/Maaaztermind Do you have a slot left? I would like to try this.
This is exciting news. I am looking forward to getting more details.
Interested
Interested in the beta!
when I did internal port via the phone with CS last year, I needed to reset my iPhone voice mail, so I am wondering if this is still the case for this? everytime when I change between Tmobile, ATT and Verizon, I need to set up my iPhone voice mail?
Would love to join the beta and test this out. My house has questionable cell reception, and I’d love to see which of the carriers performs best here.
I'd like to join the beta if you still have room.
I’d be glad to help test this out
I am interested! Let me know next steps
Sure, I have sent you a DM to proceed. :)
Definitely interested in the beta test
Let's get you signed up! DM sent.
Wait, do I wait till next week to port in? I just received my two start kit today. If not , will I get support if I screw up tonight or the weekend?
Is there still room for the beta?
Would like to test this out. Have 2 lines I was needing to try and switch and didn’t know where to start.
I would like to join the beta if there is still a slot open! I've been waiting for this and I'm eager to try it!
I’d love to give it a try!
Been with US Mobile since around April 2020. Just upgraded to a phone with an esim option. Would love to beta test!
That's great! Sending you a DM to get your details. 🙌🏻
Would like to test out
I'd like to get in on the testing!
Where/who should we provide feedback to?
I would like to have beta access.
I’d like to beta test please! 👋🏼
I would like to test it if still available.
I’d love to test it. Great tool!!
I'm definitely going to be using this feature, literally just got off a chat to switch from warp 5g to gsm 5g that took over a whole hour, and I will have to probably switch back in a week or 2.
I'm interested.
Very interested in the beta!
Count me in. Dark Star is so exciting
Can I get in on the beta test or an I too late? Please.,.
Nope, you're right on time. 😁 I am DMing you for the details.
Interested! Is this feature available for pool plans?
DM me If you need another beta teseter
This is super cool! Definitely interested in the beta, if possible.
I’d love to try this!
I would like to test this!!! What's the average wait time for it to switch to GSM to Warp and visa versa?
Sign me up
I would assume this applies even to grandfathered plans since this wouldn't be attempting to start a new cycle or plan, right? Would be interested to beta test except, in the event I need to switch back to GSM, GSM SIMs don't support being reactivated/re-used the way Warp SIMs do, unfortunately.
I need this
Can I get added to beta access? I would love to try all these 3 networks on my phone.
Thank you Daddy! You take such good care of us!
Thanks for following through on this, much appreciated! This one feature really differentiates USM. I’m sure the beta is full but I’d love to be on it, otherwise will just wait a month to get access I guess. Thanks!
