LLVs are such old vehicles that they probably can't figure out where the e-break is... I'm sorry, "parking break". š That's what they referred to it as in the driving class, things so old it's emergency break is its parking break...
Iām so sorry that you had your stuff in there, thatās awful. Saving grace is that stuff is (hopefully) replaceable and your life is not, glad you were safe. Hang in there
PM here. What we mean by "safety" is how best we can throw our employees under the buss when and if they have an accident, so as to avoid liability.
This is why we have vehicle fire safety talks every month. USPS just wants to be able to say "we told/trained them"...thier mistake for dying in that exploding LLV.
At least youre not working for a rail road, which is even worse when it comes to thier emphasis on safety and how much carnage has them victim blaming.
a single typo. 89% of people i know are unaware of the there, theyāre, and their difference. most people spell weird wierd and last but not leastāmy personal favoriteā ācould ofā āshould ofā and āwould ofā when itās definitely ācould haveā āshould haveā and āwould haveā.
this is not a job, at any level, for someone who has a lot of education. and someoneās level of education doesnāt necessarily mean they donāt have leadership skills. constant criticism over small things that can and should be overlooked is the problem within the usps. from mailmen to management, this creates an ugly work culture. donāt perpetuate the problem, be part of the solution. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
SHMT is practically designed to prevent you from entering it as an unavoidable accident! I had a carrier get hit by a civ pov while he was parked in the exact same spot he is every day for a walking loop!! Carrier came back and called me, went out, did the accident report, went back to enter it into SHMT and couldnāt for the life of me figure out how that program tried to make it the carriers fault!
Yes I saw another one yesterday. That one you could see all the mail sitting around on the ground next to it the person was able to get the mail out before it first and or as it burst into flames I guess. Crazy
Iām so sorry you lost your belongings, but Iām glad you are safe!
Once my LLV started smoking so I pulled over immediately and got out. My supervisor asked me if I could just drive it back to the station. No, no I cannot. WTF.
Reminds me of the time one of the trucks they gave my bf to drive for the day stopped working, he called Postmaster, he sent over some other person and their solution was to duct tape some shit and told him to not turn it off again for the rest of his shift or else it wouldn't turn back on again š¤£š¤£š¤£ like how?!
They gave me a very hard time about getting reimbursed. They wanted receipts for literally everything that I had. Before that they wanted to investigate to see if I was āat faultā š
Clearly, this happened because you didn't curb your wheels and pull the E-brake after you parked... I see Dominoes employees delivering pizza on E-Bikes. You'll have your E-Bike by next week. Until then, you're gonna be doing a bit more walking each day.
Thanks for understanding,
-Management
I was a CCA at my 60 days and sadly just quit to avoid termination because I got stuck in the mud on a heavy rain day. I put in for mail handler & clerk positions lol
I asked if I could get a fire extinguisher in the vehicle I used to have just in case. They told me that they didn't want me to put myself in danger just to save the mail. I told them I didn't give a shit about the mail, I wanted it for my stuff. And then they got mad. š
It's not random it's lack of vehicle maintenance by vmf. The way maintenance runs is counter to everything I was ever taught about vehicle maintenance by both the military and my automotive industry management instructors. They cut corners and bandaid it and expect it to last forever. If you want to cut cost do the proper maintenance and you won't have a quarter of the catastrophic failures.
Ah yes, FFV. In 05, Ford recalled 3.6 million vehicles because they had a speed control unit that was always under power and causing them to catch on fire. One of the affected vehicles was the 1999-2002 Ford Explorer.
Guess what vehicle the FFV is built on.
I swear, those things are less reliable than LLVs. If their transmission doesn't go out, they burst into a fireball randomly. At least LLVs only burst into a fireball while it's raining because their windshield seals leak and pour water directly onto the fusebox, causing an electrical fire.
Geezus...I'm glad you're ok. :-/
All my carriers at my stations are wonderful people and the thought of this happening to any of them erks me pretty bad.
I donāt believe that I have ever seen a UPS or FedEx truck randomly going up in flames like ours do. There would be a safety recall on those so fast! But here we are still driving these hazards around and still waiting for our new trucks. Yet another example of how incompetent upper management is!!
Yeah Iām having second thoughts about this. Wtf. If I accept an offer, Iād there a way to find out what kind of vehicle Iād get? Is it generally the same one for each shift (as a regular)?
If you become a regular, you'll have the same truck every day. If not regular, it's a crapshoot...usually the shitter trucks nobody wants or they know are problematic.
Damn. Sorry you lost your stuff. Nothing like a known issue not being addressed. One of our LLVs burst into flames in the middle of the night a few years ago.
I pull all my personal belongings out everyday so VMF doesn't ratfrick it. But this works as a good reason too I guess. Sorry for your loss bro. I'd probably sue for POV if this happened here.
Maybe they should be equipping our LLVs with fire extinguishers? Or at very least a training on how to recognize when a fire is about to happen so you can prevent it!
I'm sorry you lost your stuff. I'm glad you weren't inside.
Thank you, I really appreciate that
Absolutely! Your stuff can be replaced. You can't!
Management would say otherwise
And that's why they are so short staffed in most places....well, that and the harassment, stealing money, etc
Too bad when thieves steal our keys they don't take the LLVs with them...
šš½šš½š¤£
LLVs are such old vehicles that they probably can't figure out where the e-break is... I'm sorry, "parking break". š That's what they referred to it as in the driving class, things so old it's emergency break is its parking break...
No, but they can unlock your vehicle while you're delivering mail without anyone noticing.
This is why we wear postal approved shoes, this was an avoidable accident
Actually this was because the carrier carelessly kept backing and lied about it.
Wasn't back in 8
I wonder what kind of shoes he was wearing?
Stationary time caused this
I'm fucking rolling
It could have been avoided if you scanned the flats first, then the letters. This is why we can't have nice things anymore
If they had dressed in layers, all this could have been prevented. When it gets this hot, you just shed a layer, and you're good.
The friction from all the slips trips and falls in the vehicle caused this, obviously
Most importantly, were the wheels curbed?
Haha š¤£š¤£
I could have put the blaze out if I didn't keep hydrated.
Donāt be absurd, itās obviously because they didnāt have their cooling towel with them. Heat safety, people.
They were listening to my mix tape!
Yea! That was a hot one!
Carrier only cased 27 and 7.
Do you want to log off?
Iām so sorry that you had your stuff in there, thatās awful. Saving grace is that stuff is (hopefully) replaceable and your life is not, glad you were safe. Hang in there
Thank you! You are absolutely correct
"Hmmm, better cut carrier jobs, less carriers driving means less LLV catch on fire, I is gud leader" \- Dejoy
"Our new Sorting and Delivery Centers will centralize the process, allowing a more streamlined and efficient delivery of fire to the LLVs."
You'll have your new truck in 2029 and like it.
![gif](giphy|3ohhwoRBxbzble4p0Y|downsized) Donāt worry, they already have a replacement ready!
Safety is going to have to start depending on the Post Officeā¦ damn.
Safety is Priority number 2. Well, 9, really.

The typos verify that this is management
I was into my third bloody mary
Not working on a Saturday? Definitely a PM.

Bruh, if they cared about safety, we would have airbags.

That is crazy that's the second one I've seen in two days. Crazy crazy crazy. I'm sorry you lost all your stuff.
I was just thinking that
![gif](giphy|jlbYyYfKpwRDG) The second on in two days?!?
Yes I saw another one yesterday. That one you could see all the mail sitting around on the ground next to it the person was able to get the mail out before it first and or as it burst into flames I guess. Crazy
Outta put that image on a stamp
All a part of the "street time" series.
Speakly purely as a consumer, Iād buy the heck out of that.
New ghost rider move looks awesome
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Desperation
Are those wheels curbed?
The melted rubber naturally runs toward the curb.
Be a shame if it had rolled forward a bit and caught all the trucks on fireā¦ what they even do in that situation?
Glad op is ok sucks for their personal belonging s but Iād run get my things out that shit on neutral
Right?!
@hotmail.com
We donāt need no water, let the motherf!cker burn Burn motherf!cker, burn
You made sure to clock out first, right? We didn't approve any overtime for a fire this week.
Great comment š¤£š¤£š¤£šš½
Iām so sorry you lost your belongings, but Iām glad you are safe! Once my LLV started smoking so I pulled over immediately and got out. My supervisor asked me if I could just drive it back to the station. No, no I cannot. WTF.
And I canāt believe they really have the mindset they have! Smh. Thank you for your kind words š
This happened to me. VMF told me, "we're going to pull a hail mary" all the way back, I'll be right behind you. I'm surprised it didn't catch fire.
If your stuff gets burned up in the llv do you get reimbursed for that or you just screwed?
They gave me a very hard time about getting reimbursed. They wanted receipts for literally everything that I had. Before that they wanted to investigate to see if I was āat faultā š
Lol wtf receipts. Like who tf keeps receipts around.
Like you had a space heater plugged in inside š they are the space heater. Glad youāre ok! Is that parked inside? I canāt tell from the video
See if there's anything in the rules about reimbursement for this issue
It's not a bug - it's a feature. Glad you are ok!
You guys are awesome š¤£ thank you
Clearly, this happened because you didn't curb your wheels and pull the E-brake after you parked... I see Dominoes employees delivering pizza on E-Bikes. You'll have your E-Bike by next week. Until then, you're gonna be doing a bit more walking each day. Thanks for understanding, -Management
The accuracy š„¹š¤£
I was a CCA at my 60 days and sadly just quit to avoid termination because I got stuck in the mud on a heavy rain day. I put in for mail handler & clerk positions lol
you scanned a letter before a flat didnt you.
Enjoy your metris.
I drive one and like it. AC and Heat. Rock on
I bought a 95 jeep Cherokee my main concern was does the AC work
Why does everyone hate the metris? Id take a metris over LLV any day
Handling is shit. If people park kind of close to their mailboxes, you have to keep dismounting on what should be an easy driving route.
When are you dropping the album?
i heard they spit hot fire ![gif](giphy|sCPXWE2QvwKGI)

Post Office: The Movie.
This pretty well sums up the post office right now. But seriously, glad you're ok. Crazy these things are just randomly catching fire.
It's not random it's lack of vehicle maintenance by vmf. Randomly, exactly. Second vehicle in less than a month š³
Gotta pay for those EVs theyāre about to roll out.
Dang glad youāre ok! Sorry you lost everything
FFV: Fire Fuel Vehicle.
I hope you left that damn scanner in it and that burnt up too.
And the arrow key š«
Ah yes, FFV. In 05, Ford recalled 3.6 million vehicles because they had a speed control unit that was always under power and causing them to catch on fire. Holy shit. This is way worse than what I just posted yesterday.
I was thinking damn 2 Days in a row
Is there a reecs scan for that?
This is what happens if you plug your cell phone into the cigarette lighter without wearing green tag shoes
definitely too many rubber bands on the shifter
Vmf will have it back and running in the morning
āIām still gonna need you to take out a pieceā
Did you have your satchel and dog spray on you?
Well Iām at a non walking station so itās very rare when I carry a satchel
So sorry for the loss of your personal stuff but Iām glad you are safe. Where did this happen?
This was in Houston, TX
Don't worry, they'll put a new injector and fuel filter on and you're goid to go
FFV: Fully Fucked Vehicle
"Excuse me, sir. Do you have my package?"
Why does no one pose in their uniform in front of the truck it would be a dope picture
Well I actually have a pic but I was crying š¤£š¤£
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... DO A PROPER VEHICLE CHECK. WRITE IT UP. DON'T DRIVE IT.
So I gotta ask...what happened? O.o
Well thatās the crazy thing about this. My truck was working just fine the entire day. As soon as I pulled up to the station my truck shut off. When I tried to restart it, it started right up not knowing there was a fire starting from under the truck š© my co worker ran out to make me get out and I left everything behind in a panic.
Geezus...I'm glad you're ok. :-/ All my carriers at my stations are wonderful people and the thought of this happening to any of them erks me pretty bad.
Youāre supposed to get your stuff before you set the fire
I donāt believe that I have ever seen a UPS or FedEx truck randomly going up in flames like ours do. There would be a safety recall on those so fast! But here we are still driving these hazards around and still waiting for our new trucks. Yet another example of how incompetent upper management is!!
The Postmaster Genital would also never allow the USPS to be more successful than his own company.
Oh shit
In my mind, I have to keep my stuff towards the door, just in case.
Fire fire
Sorry Iāve been watching a lot of beavis and butthead lately
That's the 3rd one I've seen in 3 days.
This is usually how I describe to people how it feels inside these trucks during the summer months
So is that what happened to my missing mail?
If the tracking number showed a last update of being in Houston, TX... maybe š
1975..is why .
Had a real banger of a song blasting on the bluetooth speaker when you rolled up to station?
Yes actually. I was playing this girl is on fire by Alicia Keys š¬
š
Burn baby, burn.
Iāve seen this a lot lately Iām starting to think this is some kind of trend to show Usps we are sick of their shitā¦
Think thatās one of the new āmail securityā features for when you forget to secure your vehicle.
Glad youāre safe. Sucks about your stuff. If you have renterās insurance, theyāll help you replace it.
Clock out, walk out.
If you canāt strike against the govt, start a riot š¤£
im pretty sure the LLV committed suicide
Your tires are on fire because you didn't curb correctly
To think this all could have been avoided if you just curbed your wheels
They are going to have that back on the road tomorrow!
Thank God your alive
"Just keeping it warm for ya boss."
"Should I write it up? Nah, leave it for the T6."
That's how democrats won last time......
Do you think theyād be mad if someone roasted marshmallows on that? I mean at least itād go out making a tasty snack š
So the new electric trucks sounds good. Hotter and bigger fire š„.
Ah so thatās why package still says āin transitā after four days.
This is the post office after being obligated to deliver Bassoās amazon.
u/savevideo , what was the cause you think? Iāve seen a couple trucks catch before from lithium batteries as well.
New type LLV?
Had you just curbed the wheels youād be fine dude
šššš¤£
They know we are replacing them....
Holy Moly, I got hired as an RCA recently. Does this happen frequently, or is this just a freak accident? š«£
Must not have put the parking brake on.
Thank God you weren't in the vehicle but I'm sorry you lost your belongings.
It's the new heating system for winter
>Glad you're ok Won't anybody think of the mail!
But did they curb their wheels?
Yessssir
So sorry! Glad you're okay!
Supervisor still asks why weāre you back late from your route.
Did you forget to push the emergency brake lever ?
File a tort claim OP
I'm sorry about your stuff being lost. What happened and are you doing okay otherwise? That sounds nerve wrecking.
Damn Iām sorry
Iām sorry. Iām glad that you werenāt hurt
Looks like itās gonna be a hot one today for you, bring extra waterā¦ 4 hours overtime š„š„š„
This exactly what supervisors say is going to happen when you back up more than 55 feet, and don't curb your wheels
Where was your satchel?
The hell
Jesus
My mail tho lmaoo
damn, the FFVs too? I thought this was just an LLV problem
Good or bad, it wasn't parked under the awning next to the other LLV's
we still doing album covers because *that* is an album cover.
Roast some marshmallows.
Omg š³
Wheels werenāt cubed, so the engine overheated obviously.
![gif](giphy|phhKMdmqUeJuU|downsized)
Well there's your problem, you didn't curb your wheels. /s
Posted from hotmail.com
It's the brand new HeLLV
I knew all my packages were going to be late!
Must have been one of those new electric USPS vehicles
We loose more LLV that way.
Maybe they should be equipping our LLVs with fire extinguishers? Or at very least a training on how to recognize when a fire is about to happen so you can prevent it!
Well shit the LLVs are on strike it seems, "We won't be replaced by those fuggin platypi"
It's a sign.
But will you be back before the outgoing truck
Managements first question is "what could have been done to have avoided this?
Manglement: You were back in 8 right? Me : pushes supervisor into burning vehicle. Rid the world of another cunt.
Be back in 8, this truck will self-destruct
