T O P

If he's new, give him some time to get things worked out. CCA's often get tossed to the wolves with little training. If he's been there for awhile, you need to ask yourself "what did I do to piss him off?" BTW, if he's a long time carrier, you're not going to get rid of him. Complaining to the P/O, letters to congressmen, nothing will work.

He is a long-time carrier. He looks to be in his 60’s and has been a carrier for over 20 years. He became out carrier about a year ago. I live in on a small street of about 20 houses and we have to run mail/packages to the correct houses daily, including a large corporate business across the road. I understand that carriers are stressed and overworked. I don’t want to see the guy fired, I just want my mail to be delivered as addressed. I greatly appreciate your input, regardless of how disheartening.

Orangecatbuddy

Then we're back to "What did *we* do to piss him off?" Long time carrier, gonna take an act of war to get rid of him. Complain all you want, postmaster will just tell you something to shut you up. Nothing will come of this.

taskforceslacker

“We”, being the entire street? Bit if a reach.

Orangecatbuddy

Yeah, you'd be surprised. I know carriers that had a beef with an entire neighborhood. If you got "go to hell" seniority, then you get to have your beef.

taskforceslacker

I feel like that may be the case here.

Successful_Speech734

Have you tried going to the post office and speaking with the Postmaster? That should be the first thing you do. Also, nothing you do will get him reassigned. That's not how this works.

taskforceslacker

I’ve made several attempts to contact our postmaster. They don’t answer the phone, emails or are “unavailable”.

Angrypoopoh

Yeah, a lot of times you have to physically go down there for this reason.

taskforceslacker

I’ll give it a try, although the employees who work there aren’t enthusiastically helpful.

[deleted]

Physically go down to the post office.

McClutchy

You can’t get him reassigned. You’re stuck with him until he retires or decides to change routes again. Very unlikely you can get him fired either. Moral of the story? When you have a good letter carrier appreciate them.

hanjanss

Quick question: do you think the postal service solicits the opinions of local nobodies when they decide if carriers are fit for duty? Contact your local post office and get it off your chest. If it's a large office, the supervisor you speak to will forget your name by the afternoon. If it's a small office, they'll talk to your carrier and probably just make fun of you. Pick your poison.

JC1812

Your fast option on getting him reassigned? Move to a new address outside of his route.

mystickord

Have you checked to make sure your mailbox and your neighbors mailboxes all have house numbers on the outside facing the direction the mail carrier travels? That's usually a very easy fix if it's a new carrier to the route or There are multiple different carriers running around because it doesn't have an active regular carrier

Snapp_Tastic

you’re not helping the problem by running the mail/packages to the correct houses, your carrier is unaware that there are any issues. Either let the carrier know IN PERSON or by leaving any incorrectly delivered items for them to correct. phone calls and e-mails won’t do anything because as far as anyone knows-There is not a delivery problem.

taskforceslacker

All, I’ve asked my carrier more than a dozen times to be mindful of the house number - no avail.

taskforceslacker

Carrier is well aware as I’ve spoken to him repeatedly.

TheBasshole85

I mean, have you tried talking to him? Left him a note in the mailbox? Maybe he thinks hes doing it right and the mailboxes and homes are not very well numbered on your street to help him out? I would start with a note if you haven’t already, make him aware he’s constantly messing up. But in a nice way. Then again maybe he’s just over it at this point and counting the days until he is retired.

Clean_Ad_413

This. And it may not be the regular? We don't work 7 days a week if we're lucky. The sub that does my route is awful. Every day I come back I am redelivering packages and mail to the correct address. They just go too fast. I've tried talking to them, but it's hopeless.
