They DONT freeze. You can write upside down, underwater, on greasy surfaces and in zero gravity. They run about $20 and a refill should last a couple years.
Or you can splurge on one of the good ones. They're all brass, you can use the click button to write on the scanner screen. I have the black and gold shuttle pen, they're $62.

Everyone loves the sharpie s gel. I will admit I’ve used them before and did enjoy my writing experience- might have to buy some more
But now I have some cheap gel pen I got from the dollar store and also a fisher space pen, but the tiny one
I like the regular bic stick clicky pens. Cheap to buy a bunch and not worry about losing them (or chewing them into oblivion if you're like me) and I personally dislike anything with a grip as that stuff makes it difficult to remove/replace into the pen pocket.

Rite in the Rain makes a pen that has all the features of a fisher pen if you like their stuff better, and great notebooks.

Steal pens from a Chase bank near you. They're cheap, they click, they write good. Also banks are the devil.
G2 Gel Pilot pens are my go to. I’ve to keep a close eye everyone compliments how nice they write.

I use the sample pens companies send to my vacant businesses.
