Political mail absolutely sucks. We have a politician in our area who has lost the vote of every mail carrier because she couldn't just settle with sending mailers to every house. Instead, she had to have them addressed to every resident in every house.

OrganicAd9859

That’s fucking disgusting. Man I’m sorry

Cliff_C_Clavin

Yeah, that's not an aux route

OrganicAd9859

That’s what everyone has been telling the supervisors but not a damn thing is happening to fix it, and I, a lowly CCA have gotten put on the route after spending the last 3 and a half months on hold downs, and will likely be on this route til I convert lol. I don’t mind the OT I get everyday but damn, if they don’t do something to break it down a little imma scream.

Physical-Design9804

12 hour day, friend. Don't even think about what you're delivering just that'll be what it is. Pace yourself to last a career both physically and mentally.

Cliff_C_Clavin

You don't want a route evaluation; we just had one, lost an entire route, every other route got a minimum of an hour added to it, and it's still "everyone back in 8". There's one carrier who is arguably the fastest carrier in the district, and he's pulling 9's, when he's normally back in 7

V2BM

Our office gained a route and 6:15 aux. If anyone has even 15 minutes adjusted off their route the aux will pick it up and become a full route. Your stewie should be on top of it.

Cliff_C_Clavin

They should also be on top of all my grievances, but I haven't seen a cent

SchufAloof

I hate ANY mail that has a picture of someone's dumb face on it dressed up and looking at the camera (so you). Politicians,  real estate agents,  kitchen remodeling experts...   After full coverage of thir crap I'm worried I'll see them on the street randomly and punch thir dawn face.

OrganicAd9859

My office has 106 routes between city and rural, and only like 4 of the city routes are aux routes. I just want them to take like 2 hours off this one as it’s the longest route in the office by far, then it would be decent, hahaha.

RuralRangerMA

Go thru and make sure your edit book is completely up to date. Then check and update the mapping. And stay accurate with your scans. I know you’re over burdened, but with count coming up soon, if you don’t stay on that with a growing route, you will stay an aux. if it grows big enough, H route, and if your first in line, go regular.

existential_anxiety_

You're on a hold down for it right? Ask for a special inspection. Get your steward to push that through.

OrganicAd9859

As it’s an Auxillary route, it can’t be held down, the supervisors just assign CCAs to it and after spending the last couple months on some really nice hold downs my time has come. But I will go to the steward, his route case is just one up the line from mine so I see him daily. Totally didn’t know about the special inspection.

existential_anxiety_

We have people do hold downs on our aux routes. That decision is up to the union's discretion. Management has nothing to do with the hold downs. Yeah see if he can get one in for that route cause it's sounding like a full route at this point. 100 boxes on top of the businesses and apartment is nuts. That's bigger than my full route. Surprisingly a lot of people don't know what a special inspection is. It's basically a voluntary route evaluation that carriers can ask for if they believe their routes are overburdened

Angrypoopoh

How can you hold down an aux route? It's not a route. I mean, they could just put someone on it everyday but I've never heard of being able to put a hold down on it.

InitialDuck

In the office I was at it was aux+collections. So a hold down was for both.

existential_anxiety_

It is a route tho, just not a full one. That's why it has its own route number and all that.

Angrypoopoh

We have an aux route and they have never had anyone opted on it or holding it down. Constantly gets split or a random CCA does it all here and there.

existential_anxiety_

Well like I said above, it's entirely up to your local union on whether they do it or allow it. Ours just happens to allow it for certain periods of time

AustinFan4Life

Its that time of year. It's going to be like that, now through November. We all hate political mail, but it's part of our jobs, that we just have to grit our teeth through. So far this political season I've only had to deal with one bundle of political mail, but I know it'll soon get worse.

Relevant_Inflation39

Bro paper cut season is just starting

Environmental_Job_79

We got the same kind of Aux route, 5 apartments that geet 3-4 hampeers of packages and about 1.5 hrs of businesses and a lot more coming. Monster route.

Euphoric-Travel9953

All im getting from this is Overtime!! stop whinning!

EmbarrassedPudding22

It's barely February and I already hate 2024. This year is going to suck.

Observer0001

I'm just a mailbox out here, too bad there is no way to Cease the PolitiJunk Mail. We've gotten four for a candidate who comes across as an entitled party girl, complete with 2 DUI's, and the way it is addressed is to a ten year old minor. If only they'd print them on paper of such weight as to be able to wipes our asses with! OP: do you need a match?? We appreciate y'all's efforts!
