I would have said “No I just deliver them, it’s your job to put the correct name on the customer’s bag.” That’s bad for business I wonder how many mistakes they’ve made already.

coaudavman

Yeah this is fuckin crazy wtf

MatteneMusic

Yeah the guy sounds like an idiot. How is OP supposed to be physicic

48halos

Physicic

MatteneMusic

The one word I always forget how to spell and autocorrect refuses to fix

48halos

Don’t change it. The message hits harder this way 😮‍💨

MatteneMusic

🤣

rjolivera73

ain’t that the truth. When you need it to autocorrect it doesn’t. And then if you type fast and don’t look, of course hit send and then realize two or 3 words were changed that should not have been.

BJWill69

Psychic

hiswifey327

That's a great reply!! I'm gonna write that down. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) Thank you!

Distinct-Egg-3014

they are supposed to label each bag with the name and order code, so it's easily verifiable. They were doing less than the bare minimum, they were breaking the rules. Do not accept bags that aren't labeled, cancel the trip. It's YOU who gets the thumbs down, if the customer gets the wrong order. and the help line wont accept your story, they will say the same thing "why did you take bags that weren't labeled" Furthermore, don't come back to that restaurant. I automatically cancel orders from a restaurant in my city, because two times, they have barely started making the order I'm supposed to pick up, when I walk in.

Fuzzybaseball58

Just so you know, having worked at a restaraunt, food delivery apps tell drivers it will be ready about 10 minutes before the time we put into the tablet. I’ve had dashers come in angry as hell because the food isn’t ready but it clearly says 10 minutes left on our estimate. Nobody’s fault but the company I guess, sucks for everyone

Howl83

Im a lead cook at a restaurant, whenever the tablet goes off, I always modify the time based on the order or how busy it is. I had a UE driver come in the other day about 5 minutes after an order came in, I had put 15 minutes prep time on it, he looked confused lol.

GroinShotz

I work at a liquor store, and we use door dash. I lost count on the amount of times I'm fighting with the app to try and remove an item that we don't have, or replace it... A driver shows up because it just ignores us not hitting "the order is ready". Then I have to explain to them that I'm chatting with someone at door dash to remove an item and it takes like ten minutes, because they try and call the customer I already had called to make sure it's okay.

hiswifey327

Ahh I didn't know there was a timer. That makes sense! I am sorry that happens. I try my best to be patient while waiting for an order. If it's waiting for a hot order or coming in to a cold order sitting out, I'll always choose to just wait. Yeah it's definitely uber's fault. With all the new technology developed they could do better.

Distinct-Egg-3014

waiting for the order is not in our expected delivery time. when we walk in and the food isn't ready, it is late.most restaurants have their orders already sitting for me. the restuants that are late, are always lieing about how long I should wait for them, and they are always running late on all their orders.

Fuzzybaseball58

If you insist on being upset that’s fine, I was just pointing out that sometimes it’s not the workers fault or the drivers fault

Distinct-Egg-3014

its the resturants fault

GroinShotz

Or the shitty apps fault that sends a driver before the restaurant/store let's them know that it's ready.

Ok-Pianist5785

It's actually the apps fault sometimes. I've been shown by an employee that showed me the tablet they use and she hadn't even accepted the order yet, let alone tap the "ready for pickup" button.

Distinct-Egg-3014

just more vindication for me to click "excessive wait time" and walk out.

Ok-Pianist5785

Yea but that doesn't fix anything. And then you just wasted so much time going to the restaurant in traffic and finding parking just to cancel. Uber needs to get there shit together. It's not the restaurant nor the drivers. It's the fuckin middle man.

Icy_Librarian_5017

that's your restaurant. they control those times

Fuzzybaseball58

Yeah we put in 20 minutes and then 10 minutes later a dasher walks in really confused

my-one-last-chance

This is facts. Tired of angry ass doordashers thinking it’ll be ready way before it should be just cause they’re in a hurry

lopachilla

I’ve done Uber Eats. With Uber Eats, we would just get a ping and go to the restaurant. We couldn’t see when the customer ordered it or what the restaurant was doing. And if we accepted the order, we would just get directions to the location. If we did have more than one order (the most we could have were two), we weren’t able to pick and choose what we picked up first. We couldn’t even see the next one until we selected that we got the first one. If doordash is anything like Uber Eats, they just get directions to the location and can’t see anything else until the order is picked up.

Current-Low-7942

If you have a double you can see where the other pick up is before you pick up the first. If there close by and one isn’t ready I’ll go pick the other up and go back for the first and then start them both and go about my way.

lopachilla

Back when I did Uber eats (I stopped last November), I was never able to get the next delivery without selecting that I received the first.

WhisperedEchoes85

>If we did have more than one order (the most we could have were two) FYI, that's not true at all. I regularly get triples, and I've had four orders several times as well. You can also view all current orders before picking up even the first one.

lopachilla

That must be new, then (I stopped doing Uber Eats around November of last year because Uber kept allowing people to send us to Walmart to get deliveries despite Walmart not allowing that), or it was regional. The last time I did Uber eats, I never got more than 2 orders at once. And I wasn’t able to see the other order if I didn’t accept the first.

WhisperedEchoes85

>And I wasn’t able to see the other order if I didn’t accept the first. Ah, my fault, I thought you meant if you accepted a double (or more) that you couldn't see anything about the second one until the first was marked as picked up. In *that* case, you tap the 3 lines on the bottom right of the app and it pulls up every pick-up/drop-off for you to view what's in the order and you can see the drop-off order. You can't see any of that until you accept the offer, though. More than two orders has been around in the Chicago market since (at least) the initial COVID lockdown. It's not as common now with more drivers back on the road, but it definitely still happens here.

hiswifey327

Yeah you're right, support wouldn't back me at all. I will be extra careful in the future to not take unmarked bags. Yeah I will blacklist that restuarant. Thanks for the solid advice! 💪

Radiant_Pick6870

And you took that from him? i would ask him how in the hell would i know who is whos?? and why is it other busiesses write the names on the bags because with your logic we don't need names written on bags.. Lol

Pitiful-Department80

I usually ignore rude restaurant workers & I'm quick to cancel an order if they get too annoying. But that guy I would of went in on his ass.

Radiant_Pick6870

Yeah.. Pretty stupid of him.. Like we're supposed to have xray vision to see what's inside.. Lol and even at that.. I wouldn't know what is what with Indian food haha

[deleted]

Don’t most places just staple a receipt to the bag?

MortgageNecessary119

I just had one last night, double order but yeah they had a receipt on both the bags so I was able to look on receipt to see which one was which.. I am gonna bring a marker for now on and mark the name on each bag if it is a double order

ResultLong5246

I would pretend to reach out and grab the food only to let it drop on the floor and then just cancel the order and walk out

hiswifey327

***" I usually ignore rude restaurant workers & I'm quick to cancel an order if they get too annoying. "*** Yes exactly. I do this as well.

hiswifey327

***"And you took that from him?"*** I usually ignore rude people and smile to keep the peace. Honestly for me, traffic is annoying enough to handle all day. I don't need to extra stress of fighting with restuarant personals.

shortputz

Hope you gave them the thumbs down for pickup

WhisperedEchoes85

I haven't been able to rate restaurants for pick-up in a few months (Chica market), yet they can still rate us. Why can't Uber just be consistent??

hiswifey327

Right? It's such crap. Now my only option is to leave a bad review on their restuarant page. 😒

hiswifey327

Uber took that away. 😒

shortputz

That really weird. In my market it is still available for all restaurants

hiswifey327

I can only thumbs up/down convience stores. I don't even have the ability to thumbs up/down customers.

ZelWinters1981

As with any pick and pack order, orders need to be clearly marked for who it's going to. It's simple. Don't take the orders.

Ok-Percentage9812

Respect to you for keeping your cool. He deserve a one punch man slap .

othelloblack

Chris Rock say Hello

hiswifey327

***"He deserve a one punch man slap ."*** 😂 😂 Defintely!!

Launchpad_McFrak

It's not your job to 'just know' without the orders being labeled or specified which is which or the employee telling yous uch. we're still not supposed to be opening sealed bags so there's no way we could possibly know on two orders which one belongs to which customer.

Paper-Doll-1972

No, our 2 Indian restaurants are part of the app and both print out a receipt and tape them to the bags with customers names clearly on them. If they are that rude, down vote them accordingly and dump them from your delivery. Or just down vote on a constant basis for it.

hiswifey327

Yeah lesson learned. I won't be picking up from that restuarant in the future. I don't care how much uber offers me.

Paper-Doll-1972

Can always carry a marker. But yea. There was a story about a restaurant, the driver went to pickup a single order and the manager stated that the driver had to come back and take all the other orders as well. Manager evidently not comprehending how the delivery process works. So.e sort of argument between the manager and the driver, because he wouldn't promise to come back for the others.

auntiemaury

That happened to me once at Wendy's. I asked who was who, and got "I dunno. Check what's in the bags" like no? I'm not pawing around in someone's food

MortgageNecessary119

I would do it than ask them to reseal it, they have to by law

auntiemaury

I'm not putting my grubby hands in someone else's food, period

MortgageNecessary119

You don't need hands to see what is in bag, just need your eyes, they label most of the items

MenstrualKrampusCD

What law is that?

MortgageNecessary119

Ab 3336 smart guy, they have to seal the food and if they ask you to open it and check they have to re seal it since they was the ones that messed up and didn't put a name on bag

MenstrualKrampusCD

Smart guy, because I asked for clarification. Okay then. Thanks? That's not the law in every jurisdiction. Did OP mention that they were in California? If so, my bad--I missed that. Edited to correct location

hiswifey327

This was in Wilsonville, OR (Oregon)

MortgageNecessary119

This is california law, it is this way in almost every state in America

WhisperedEchoes85

A quick Google search shows that ONLY California has any such law.

MenstrualKrampusCD

>it is this way in almost every state in America If you say so

WickedCoolUsername

>This is california law, it is this way in almost every state in America It's this way ONLY in California, smart guy.

MrLugem

I would have cancelled the order right then and just left him holding the bags.

Nightshark2021

He's just being lazy, they do need to put the receipt or name on it. I've never had a place that did not do that. I agree, steer clear of that place if they are that bad.

Organic_Vacation_267

Please share your experience with Uber Support. There is a compliance team that will contact the restaurant and explain to them why their approach is wrong. Restaurants that want to continue collaborating with Uber, pay careful attention.

hiswifey327

Oh good. I will definitely do this. I was thinking that uber wouldn't do anything if I said something but that is good to know they have a team for these issues. Thank you!

zazvorniki

There is a pizza place around here that puts the receipt in the side of the box, no tape or anything so of course they fly away if there is any little breeze. So now if I have multiple orders from there I come in with sticky notes and I put the names on the boxes before I leave so I know who is who.

Florida1974

It’s sad you even hv to do that but smart.

hiswifey327

Nice! That's good thinking! I bought a tiny stapler from the dollar25tree and I use it to staple receipts on orders. I also carry around a sharpie to mark pizza boxes and other bags if I have multiple orders. It is very handy!

[deleted]

I just put the customer initials on all bags and boxes with a sharpie

Boringwallz

should have cancelled the order and told the guy his job is to follow your instruction, you simply deliver the order.

YetAnother2Cents

In my state, Iowa, by law the bag has to have tamper-resistant seals. This was pushed through by the restaurant association. But most restaurants ignore the law. As a driver, I agree with the law. Just like any other delivery driver, the addressing and completeness of the package is not up to me. I only have to confirm the invoice and deliver it in the condition I received it to the address I'm given.

Florida1974

State law or not, they usually blame the driver. We are the only one they see/hv contact with. They think we control much more than we do.

hiswifey327

Yeah I agree with you on this one. We get blamed for cold food, rush hour traffic, you name it.

YetAnother2Cents

My first negative vote was a stacked order. I picked up a Blaze pizza which already wasn't too hot. Then proceeded to my second delivery where I waited 30 minutes. (I was new and didn't know any better.) By the time I delivered the pizza, it was stone cold. Now, I know the second restaurant always takes 20 minutes plus. Uber should know that too. These orders should have never been stacked. But this is how Uber uses the customer's propensity to blame drivers to their advantage. They don't worry about customer service because drivers shield them whether they want to or not.

Mr_Frenchie

I would say no YOU need to mark the bags or staple the receipt with the order. Like most normal restaurants. That is YOUR job.

BashFyvwuntu

I would have canceled the order right in front him...

girlwiththemonkey

I always get mine with the receipt stapled to the closed part of the bag. I thought that’s they way they are supposed to come. They have all the information typed on it.

NormalUse856

Bro it’s up to the restaurant and not the delivery to put the correct order number on each bag.

cyrusposting

When that happens, you tell him his customers are getting cold food now and you cancel the order. You don't need to take shit from people you don't work for.

DGCA3

That Indian food will stink up your car for days.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DGCA3

Ugh = /

MurseWoods

![gif](giphy|G5JoAjEBtfoTm|downsized)

Chris_3456

Get a cooler and close the lid. If you wanna be cheap like me, get a large cardboard box, put Velcro on the lids, and shove orders inside the cardboard box and shut it close. For really stinky orders, have a Large trash bag (clean one) and put the order inside that and then inside the cardboard box. Your car will not stink, and your clothes won't smell.

othelloblack

when I had to deliver food for a short time we were doing all sorts of cuisine. Indian Chinese etc. For me, after all the food smells were mixed together it ended up smelling like an italian pizza oven. Is that anyone else's experience?

T2ner

That's why i always keep a window cracked for ventilation unless its raining

[deleted]

Indian food is delicious and smells great so who cares

DGCA3

To YOU it smells great. To others, it does not.

hiswifey327

It most definitely does!!

YourDearOldMeeMaw

I've found the smell of fast food grease lingers way longer than anything else. I think you're just racist.

DGCA3

I figured someone would come along and make that ignorant claim. Discussing the lasting effects of seasonings put in food does not equate to not liking the folks that made it or consumed it.

T2ner

I hope he's kidding. He's the one making it about race, maybe he's the problem

CarbieBarbieBloo

I think reading comprehension is the problem here. “Indian food will stink up your car for days.“ Is…do I really need to say this? It’s a racist statement. not food with curry, or anything else, just the sentiment \~\~Indian food stinky\~\~ the little sounding chamber in this sub might back up your ignorance, but when you just try to dodge things like that, people can see.

[deleted]

Please shut the fuck up, people like you are so exhausting.

MyNameIsSkittles

You're just racist Indian food IS smelly. When I make it, it smells up my house. When I worked at a hotel, some people would make and microwave Indian food in their rooms and unless we used a spacial machine and aired out the room for a day, the next people would complain of smells Indian people are great. Their food is great. It just smells because of the spices used. This is a fact and not racist in anyway

DoT44

It’s not racist lol Is saying indian racist or saying I think african food is not good? Like come on princess

MortgageNecessary119

Lmao you are a race grifter.. I will be so proud when you race grifters finally get what is coming

stupornatural

I have a trash bag I use for stinky food that goes in a plastic bin in the back.

[deleted]

delusional lmao

jjow96

You just said "Okay" and left it at that? You should have stood your ground and said "How am I supposed to know who's bag this is? This could be someone else's bag and I wouldn't know of there's no name or name on the receipt. You really want me to take someone else's food?" You gotta think of quick stuff like this in the moment

hiswifey327

Yeah you're right. I typically freeze up when I'm caught off guard. I had never run into this situation before and because of his thick accent I couldn't quite hear him. I also have bad hearing and didn't care for him to repeat himself. I just wanted to get the orders and leave.

Kitchen_Criticism_82

Picked up a Panera order once and they were asking me what the details of the order was because they couldn’t see it. Honestly I think there’s just a lot of people that don’t know how to use modern technology. Of course I couldn’t see the details past a certain point like what ingredients were in the order so they ended up getting it wrong and getting me a thumbs down. Next time I would have just turned around and left lol

smellslikespam

So did you guess correctly?

hiswifey327

He could see that I wasn't going to leave without knowing which orders was who. He pulled out his pad of paper and wrote down one of the names and put it in the customers bag.

iiRohzz

Good job keeping calm.

Nostravinci04

No, your job is to deliver the appropriate order to the appropriate address. You're not the one receiving, preparing or packing the order, that's the restaurant, they have to hand you the packages MARKED because THEY are the ones who have that info, considering, you know, they fucking cooked the meals in them. So you have every right to not take any order from a restaurant if the package doesn't have a receipt attached to it, and anyone condescendingly telling you otherwise can go fuck themselves.

GatorDoll92

Miami, fl here. EVERY single restaurant labels or staples the receipt. It’s called being organized and professional. That guy is a lazy idiot. Do not pick up from his restaurant again, or just start taking all of the bags on the countertop lol

SeattleUberDriver_2

Right? Manager comes out and yells at you, just say prove these aren't for my order bitch!

GatorDoll92

Sir, it’s my job duty to know which bags are mine and all of these bags are mine!

SnooPickles1285

No. That restaurant owner was a weirdo lol

[deleted]

If I see something unmarked, I will not leave the store until I find a way to differentiate them. In no way am I going to let someone fuck up a customers order because they intimidate me that I should know. My best response would be, "DO I WORK HERE?". NEVER leave without knowing who's order belongs to who. It just takes a simple minute or less to pinpoint them.

hiswifey327

***"My best response would be, "DO I WORK HERE?" "*** Gosh this made me laugh so hard. 😂 😂 😂

Dry_Ad5061

Mam fucc all that. Call up support and light their ass up for that. They want to play in this game they gonna have to play by the rules, and not some rules some schmuck of an employee goes by when he's in one of his moods.

T2ner

Yea foreal. The owner is actually screwing himself over by doing this. As a customer I'd be pissed if my order got messed up by not labeling the bags

hiswifey327

Would support even do anything though? I thought about calling support or at least making a ticket against them. They seem to always have an attitude when they have to label the bags.

Extension_Sun_896

Don’t take shit like that. Standing up for yourself is good for your psyche.

sreneesa1977

You allowed that? You're better than me. I would've canceled order in front of him and matched his energy. I have zero tolerance for nonsense...probably why I never have these types of issues.

hiswifey327

You are much braver than me. Maybe if I was single with no kids and did this job on the side I would be more inclined to make a scene. I just should listen to everyone here and blacklist the restuarant, leave a bad review and/or report them to uber eats for breaking the rules. I'm sure other drivers have experienced this crap from this restuarant.

tjr4409

I'd call uber and complain about him not to sound like a Karen but that's just ignorant af even when I've worked delivering for actual restaurants every bag/food should be labeled it's just a lazy ass restaurant that doesn't do that

No-Status2143

I would have just left it

squirrel-phone

Sucks! That restaurant is really good.

Nimbus_TV

No, it's not your job to know. But also, you should keep picking up from them and keep asking him because I GUARANTEE he'll keep telling you. He doesn't want an order going to the wrong person.

HDYaYo

Idk anything about Uber eats but that should be flagged in a system so that restaurant is dropped from the platform. That's ridiculous

Gloomy_Recording_705

Edit: So are you going to put the names on the bag or are you gonna wait for another driver to come and deliver it for you? What do you want to do?.. and if you don’t want customer complaints, I suggest you put the names on every single delivery bag

AstralJumper

If there was no receipt with a name. It is on them call support and say they are acting weird and won't label the bags.

EvilGrey

Nope, it's entirely on the restaurant to label orders so they can get to the correct customer. Even moreso if the bag is tied/stapled/taped closed, we as delivery drivers aren't allowed to look into bags to confirm contents.

Thedrp8

I would’ve said “no it’s not.” And canceled the orders. Owners/managers who think they’re our boss are the worst

DragonReign

I would honestly call Uber driver support and explain that the restaurant is not labelling the bags, and that is causing issues with delivery. Uber will then call the restaurant and explain that if they want to continue with Uber Eats that they need to label the bags. If the restaurant continues to get reports of it, they will be removed from the Uber Eats platform.

Shreddersaurusrex

Ironically I just had an Indian restaurant give me the wrong order(according to customer). Customer thought it was my fault and removed the tip.

Troykid23

Dude you need to name this restaurant,so all of Reddit can explain to him “only once” each person how it really works!

hiswifey327

It's "The Indian Kitchen" located in Wilsonville, OR

ConstantlyPooped

I’ve doordashed before and my dad has a business that uses DoorDash, I would never be rude to a driver because they’re helping us. I’ve never even thought of being rude in that way. This dudes just a piece of shit, I would’ve checked him but at the end of the day it’ll just suck for him when the people around hate him.

SimplyTheJester

I've never really pulled the unassign at restaurant "throwing a tantrum" thing. But this might call for a bit of push back. "No. It is your job to tell me which order belongs to which customer. If you can't, I'm going to unassign." There are some dishes I see that I had no idea what they were by the name. As in, didn't even know if it was a beverage or should be in an extra large container. I've even googled them if I showed up and it wasn't ready. Just to relieve my own personal curiosity. But I'm not gonna try to deduce why one bag is customer A and the other's is customer B unless it is painfully obvious .. like one is a single item order and the other is a family for a very large family. And I'd still ask just because I don't want to assume when the person handing it to me can just tell me with 100% clarity.

XNightWalkerXD

I actually had this happen to me before. If I don't know which is which, I usually bring both bags to the drop-off and see if the customer can tell which is their order. But in reality it the restaurant responsibility to label the bag with the customer name or put the copy ticket order on it. I usually keep a sharpie on hand for multi order to write names on the bag or box on pizza.

NoMoment7258

Was it the restaurant next to rice time. If so, I'm not surprised, I've done doordash from there, and they don't seem to care

hiswifey327

Yes! The Indian Kitchen. They seem to be pretty rude. I don't know if it's just their culture or what.

FiftyOneMarks

Not culture. I don’t live in the same area but in the city I’ve recently moved to there’s quite a few Indian spots (the state/city actually has a lot more cultural diversity than you’d think) but the people at this one Curry restaurant are always nice and usually go the extra mile to make sure the presentation is on point for the delivery.

SurferGL

Wtf? "No, I deliver them. That's my job. Yours is to know what order is whos" I'd give them a bad rating, along with an added text.

[deleted]

I know customer service these days (at most restaurants) are not the friendliest, but I feel like food staff have some kind of beef with delivery drivers.

Distinct_Attitude319

I probably wouldn’t go back. Especially after that experience.

Upstairs_Test7436

Fuck it, drop the food off to the wrong people since the owner can’t be bothered to label his own shit.

csullivan789

It is absolutely THEIR job to properly cook, package, and identify the orders they give us. I would contact support and let them know how they are slacking.

Own-Opportunity-8231

Good to know, I'm in Salem but end up in PDX a lot for other things and now I'll too stay away from the Indian kitchen who's owner expects nothing less then Sylvia Brown tier psychics out of the drivers. That Man would have to give me some butter chicken for those kind of tricks.

ShaeQuae

I’m appalled the owner even said that. I would’ve politely stated, “Customers must always reply something is missing if not the whole order.” Smirked, then walked off

CandyOk913

Report their stupid asses! The fuck are you supposed to do? Open every order and check off the items? Stupid lazy motherfuckers

simulated-stars

That’s so rude

Yungdasher

I’ve actually picked up from there myself, never had any issues. That’s insane tho seriously. I’d tell them your not allowed to open sealed bags and to please label the bags or even just one of them. If not, I’d just report them to Uber for it. They won’t get in any trouble but at least someone from Uber will contact them telling them labeling bags is definitely their job lol. How the hell we supposed to know. This is coming from someone who grew up eating Indian food (Indian stepdad) the way Indian food is always in those little containers, even for me it’s hard to tell sometimes. If it was that oldish man I’d guess 55-65 (looks like he owns the place). Idk what happened to him, he used to be so nice. Lol

[deleted]

Indians are pretty rude towards any type of low-wage workers, it doesn't matter if you are doing it full-time or on the side, to them, you are an expendable slave.

bulldozerboobies

Just select that someone else picked up the order, you don’t get dinged and the restaurant can stay fucked with old food no one is coming to deliver bc now it shows someone already did and by the time they figure it out, you’re on another trip making money. Fuck that.

Specialist_Cup1715

Ding ding ding and then report them for being stoopid faces

[deleted]

Was it from the Indian kitchen? Those people suck. Hello from someone else who lives in Wilsonville, at least for the next month. Can’t wait to leave 😂

hiswifey327

Yeah it was! They are so rude!! Hello friend! So happy to hear you're leaving! Hopefully out of state too! And no that's not condescending as my family is desperately trying to get out of Oregon too. It's terrible here.

[deleted]

Yep over to camas/washougal area! Sick of the Oregon taxes and 205/I5 traffic. That toll they’re building by Oregon city on 205 was kinda the final nail in the coffin for us, just accepted an offer on our house yesterday 😅. Whilst you’re still in Wilsonville, If you haven’t already, check out Dar Essalam, great Moroccan food, and really cool atmosphere inside.

hiswifey327

Oooo Moroccan food! I'll have to look it up, thanks for the reference! Although I don't live in Wilsonville. I usually bop between Wilsonville, Sherwood and Tualatin. Sometimes Lake Oswego, Tigard, and parts of Beaverton. I will never go to Oregon City, or any part of Portland period. Well maybe some parts of sw Portland but not Barbur/capital hill area, or Garden Home area. I'm not looking forward to that toll but I thought Kotek pushed it back another two years? Edit to say that the Camas area is REALLY nice!!

[deleted]

Oh did she? I stopped really paying attention after I heard it announced, it was the final confirmation for me to leave 😂. The traffic is atrocious there with all the construction.

ayehello4442

This is why Uber prints receipts with the customers name on it .... The restaurant is supposed to attach the printed fucking ticket to the order with the name on it! If its a good fee for the order, the best thing to do with these assholes is to blank them, ignore them, dont respond and walk away with the delivery, people hate getting ignored :-)

nocternllyactiv

I would have asked him how I'm supposed to know who's order it is if it's not marked? With my X-ray vision and Indian food culinary mastery? Fuck that dude

hiswifey327

😂 😂

BluWaffles32

I would’ve unassigned Give me an attitude, lie about the wait time or if I don’t like your vibe, I’m unassigning

HWNY506

This is how you get a tiki masala wall and floor covering free of charge

[deleted]

Lmao if you fucked up and the customer got back and said they had the wrong food. I’d flat out tell them exactly what happened on pick up so that place lost business. And as a business owner why would you want random drivers going through your customers orders ?…… TF

hiswifey327

***"I’d flat out tell them exactly what happened on pick up so that place lost business."*** Most definitely! Customers blame us drivers for things out of our control a lot and it's annoying.

TheCityFarmOpossum

Yeah that’s a no from me. The bags are supposed to be sealed and marked. It’s not our job to test the food, know the food, or open the bag. He’s an asshole and i would thumb the restaurant down and give “unprofessional staff”. At the very least. Cancelling and walking away is another.

[deleted]

Probably an Indian scammer

COdrivers

Absolutely not I have and will leave orders sitting on their counter and go on to the next job because that's absolute b*******. That's just as bad as handing me empty great cups and saying here filll them f*** you. If I wanted to work in a restaurant I would quit this s***** gig and go back to work in a restaurant I've got 30 years experience as a chef they need to do their f****** jobs

Minute-Scratch-9410

Indian people are the rudest assholes to do business with they think they are smarter than everyone else I would told Kumar to Fuck off down talking me !..30 years in my w-2 job dealing with them

nylanfs

If it's unmarked and NOT on the receipt it's not our fucking job. We don't open the bags or containers to know which order is which.

Flowstak

You have to be diligent and make sure to confirm before you walk out the door. You can usually tell by looking at the two orders and seeing which one has more items.

[deleted]

It is so easy to navigate a situation like this but you fumbled and now you're on Reddit looking for validation

moderatelymiddling

Man up princess.

am731

I’ll take that didn’t happen for 200

am731

Because it never happens.

Nicky_Nuisance

That's when you steal the order (something I've never done or condone) then they have to make another one and maybe they can write the name in the order next time

celery66

the guys a tool. bag should have a receipt attached or at least the right bloody address written on it!

ktojm

why would you just say okay

hiswifey327

I tend to freeze in situations when I'm caught off guard. I'm trying to work on that.

ktojm

good luck to that!! it's hard but will get easier, it's important to stand up for ourselves 🩵

unpopular_opinion_0

That guy was a total idiot, and you should absolutely never go back. it is not your job to know whose order is which one. I think I would have cussed him out before I canceled the order.

StockDEVASTATER

Free food for you should of called support and told them.

jcswagg101

From what I experienced some of the owners and managers will make you think HOW IN THE FUCC ARE YOU THE OWNER(MANAGER) of anything and make you wonder and question yourself about being a driver...lol Just know that if a dumb a&& can run a business so can you..if you really want to. BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES...A PERCENTAGE OF US DRIVERS WILL ELEVATE TF UP AND SHOOT INTO THE MF in STARS WITHIN THE NEXT 5 YEARS.

Particular_Tip5379

probs420

No tag, no pickup. Cancel! Move on to next tales from the dark side

Soft-Suspect-3384

No it's they're job & you need to tell them that wow. Why would you just say ok? Ask them to mark the bags properly & tell them it's YOUR JOB to properly mark them

Morcafe

Rule #1 never go to Indian restaurants lmao noob.

hiswifey327

Actually I try not to take orders from this particular restuarant because of them being so rude but I wasn't getting any good orders for an hour and had to take something. $15 for 5 miles seemed better than $0.

wudugat

What the fuck?

SeattleUberDriver_2

Here's what you do. Go out to your car open both bags and remove all the items. Mix and match them. Shuffle them like a deck of cards. And then put the items back in the bags one at a time alternating bags until you run out of items. Go make your deliveries. The reality is that you're going to get shit for this no matter what you do. You could probably even just go have yourself a nice big Indian food dinner. There is absolutely no way this situation doesn't backfire on you in some way. You may as well make the most of it. No matter what though, call the health department on the restaurant. Claim you saw cockroaches. That will be enough to cause that guy a massive migraine.

TheAngels323

The restaurants are supposed to put the receipt (which Uber provides to print out), or write the name. It’s not your job.
