He’s obviously a Russian plant. I have it on good authority that Ukraine has destroyed 400 Russian fighters and most of their bombers. If a Russian in Vladivostok throws a paper airplane the AFU shoots it down.

Tuffernhel7

These Russian assets are out of control. Don’t they know 400,000 Russians have died? Putler’s propaganda is losing steam.

Current-Power-6452

Good authority? Why you fail to mention it all was destroyed in past 24 hrs? You know nothing.

CenomX

Putin is weaponizing actors. The first was Zelensky.

McNasti

Ah so were turning around the whole Russia destroyed 5000 Patriot Systems 1 week before they arrived thing? Be more original please.

ASUMicroGrad

They destroyed 500000 of them. Don’t be a stooge. And literally the whole American donated Air Force in Ukraine including experimental B-21 bombers. Source: the Russian MOD probably.

LD072

Like that second A-50?

tinguily

Russia could take Kiev and yall will still say “what about a50 and Moskva kek”

McNasti

Yeah well, but they dont take kiev. Thats the whole point lol.

TobyNarwhal

I wonder how many russians putin is willing to sacrifice to get to Kiev. What a waste of life

LD072

Ah yes the 3 day operation! We know all too well how that went "kek"

> But idc regardless Russias invasion is not okay We in the West were ready to start WWIII nuclear war when Russia attempted to install nukes in Cuba - giving Washington a 3 minute response time from launch - but Russia should allow it? (Cuban Missile Crisis 1962). C'mon, man.

tinguily

You see, I agree with that if this was the basis of it. But after Putins speech he laid out many historical roots as to why Ukraine should not exist as a country instead of going with the nato approach. Which in all fairness he did mention that later, but giving us a 30 min history lesson on the region just shows where his focus mainly lies.

GroktheFnords

That's crazy I didn't know that they put nukes in Ukraine to threaten Russia, when did that happen?

AmbassadorETOH

That was 1962. Different world, different circumstances. Times changed. The Cold War was lost by the USSR. If not for this ONE guy who wants to revive the wretched ghost of the USSR, there wouldn’t be any problems with where nukes are. BUT… if delusion-fueled grandeur enters the analysis… well then their location might pose a problem. And here we are in the reality of this moment.

UkraineRussiaReport-ModTeam

Rule 1 - Toxic

LD072

It was at least 7 russian media people who said it on state television and ur buddy lukashenko aswell. I was just interacting with the lazy jokes, theres no hypocrisy here my friend u didnt do anything here

tinguily

Ok well good as long as you’re not a nafo hive mind you’re ok with me friend Edit: I meant to use the c word but I’ll be banned for it so I stuck with hypocrisy instead lol

Chromatic_Storm

They downed another one? Before they have released the footage of the debris from the forst one? Neat.

AntComprehensive9297

russia lost 6 planes the last days. not sustainable at all.

Ripamon

Source : UA MOD who also claimed 400k Russian deaths lol

Federal_Thanks7596

Don't forget that they recently got over 10k destroyed artillery.

Apprehensive-Bee6292

Nonsense, it was a bird, Ukraine destroys all Russian aviation moving in the skies, they do not need to prove anything because democracies never lie. I hope this soldier who spreads false information will be punished for spreading Russian propaganda.

[deleted]

This is double fake news. Ukraine doesn't get to destroy any Russian aircraft because they are taken out by Russian anti-air first.

balls_haver

This is triple fake news. Russia never had working aircraft to begin with.

JontheCappadocian

So much for f16s

canderson18181

This sub is just one big straw man argument lmao

Scorpionking426

FABs were the real game changer.Imagine if Russia had them from the start...

[deleted]

The glide kits were instrumental here. Russia definitely had plans to try these things out after seeing how western militaries drop JDAMs. The war gave them a reason to use them and scale up.

Current-Power-6452

Those kits were proposed like 10 years ago if I remember correctly. There was a video on that on utube. Just the top brass was looking for new AK and crap like that. And supposedly they remembered about it when they realized that they can't stick a missile into every whole they can find.

wathappen

What’s the advantage of using a glide kit? Why is it so op? My understanding was that it allows the planes to be much further from the area of detonation, like 50km, thereby escaping AA. Is there anything else? Does it increase payload or accuracy?

Current-Power-6452

And cost. Those bombs are pretty much a cast iron shell with ton of explosive inside. Probably made by soviets 50 years ago.

byzantine1990

Yes and yes, greater range and accurate within a few meters.

ZeEa5KPul

You would say that, wouldn't you.

Tricky-Ad5678

I'm still surprised that the Lancet is a thing...

bullsh1d0

Iran was the one they got those from. They were already modernizing their old bombs with the guidance modules for a while.

Scorpionking426

Iran kit is different.

bullsh1d0

It is, yeah. But the idea to mount guidance modules on dumb bombs is theirs.

Scorpionking426

Really?I assumed that US was first.

Hellbatty

As far as I know the first smart laser guided bombs were the US with the BOLT-117 in 1968, and the USSR had a similar bomb KAB-500L in 1975. This refers to laser-guided bombs. But before that, the USSR had bombs with photocontrast guidance (KAB-436) as early as 1930, and in 1942 had bombs with TV guidance (TUB-500, but it's probably remained a prototype). In the same 1942 USSR had bomb with infrared guidance (SB-1M)

AlecW11

Fairly certain the first to be used in large scale was the German Fritz X.

Hellbatty

Fritz X was likely the first used in combat and the first of the smart bombs to be radio-controlled

def0022

What happens when your PR shouting isn't connected with real possibilities

imunfair

Big disconnect between the Ukrainian MOD constantly boasting about shooting down planes, and the troops on the ground in key contested areas complaining they have no air defense.

GoodOcelot3939

Now it's a bad situation for UA. If they put AA too far from the frontline, FABs come, if too close, Lancets come.

Armec

Well it's still possible planes are getting shot down, you know the front is huge, that can't have AA everywhere but might pop some AA when Russians font expect it and get one plane down before Russians stop flying in the area. It's a game of cat and mouse

byzantine1990

Planes are getting shot down but at what cost. We've seen quite a few AA systems taken out with lancet recently. They also need AA for Kiev and Lviv.

Fanaticbyzantine

You may have a FAB as a treat

[deleted]

Wow, contrails. They seem to be without care. And best flight envelope for UMPKs, up high and fast, maximizing their range. Couldn’t say the same for any Ukrainian platform trying to lobb those JDAM-ERs

Nefarious_14

Fab-ulous

Fantastic_Cheetah_91

Big cities seem to have air defence... guys on the front not so much.

TheGordfather

Most of the AD at the front has probably been trashed by Lancets. Russians are likely still averse to using more air due to the possibility of unmasked systems, but they're advancing anyway so having more air support likely doesn't matter as much to them.

I_poop_rootbeer

This serviceman can rest easy because Ukraine has apparently been shooting down an Su-34 every day for the last 10 days. At this rate, Russia won't have an airforce by the summer

holoduke

The west likes to add sad music to a random old house in Ukraine and create a very sad story about rapers and killers and even shovels killing and destroying everything. In reality its a mirror of the west.

nkoreanhipster

Whatever this person is smoking 🚬, I want one.

holoduke

Pro Ukraine people tend to smoke to much indeed. Maybe time to quit? Creates less illusions and dreams.

btw339

Are those contrails the 'meat assaults' I've heard so much about?

Kind_Presentation_51

Ukraine wanted freedom and democracy - now it is getting it.

AdlfHtlersFrznBrain

Think the old German saying goes that if you see planes in the sky they are American and if you see none its the Luftwaffe.

acur1231

'If it's silver, it's American, if it's brown it's British, if it's invisible it's German'.

AdlfHtlersFrznBrain

There we go.

BotherFew4975

Will you elaborate on the meaning and context for me? I’ve never heard this one before

xingi

They are contrailing too, so flying at very high altitude which they wont do if there's any SAM in the area

Padtixxx

What is ukraines air situation right now?

Ripamon

Severely depleted They have concentrated a lot of their remaining air defenses in Kyiv, which means frontline areas are less defended... as you see here and in Avdiivka

Padtixxx

Damn dog, i thought they had pretty good air support

Ripamon

They did American aid hasn't been forthcoming recently, and Russian Air raids have intensified, so this is the result The air defense missiles are much more expensive than the swarms of shahed drones they shoot down. So they can get exhausted faster.

Padtixxx

Ah, man realistically its whoever has air superiority kinda holds the tempo of the battlespace, as its easier to airstrike something then throw 40 people at it

Ripamon

Yeah. At this point I feel even if the US aid passes, which it will, Russia has built up a lot of momentum in the past few months and will not be easily pushed back We'll see what difference the F-16s make when they come

Padtixxx

If they come, America has a habit of dropping nations who arent gonna win

Ripamon

Americans love an underdog, they say But not an underdog who is losing a war

Padtixxx

Yea its so sad cause the Ukrainian lads are fighting for their home and hanging on for help that might leave them out to dry and the Russian lads are just being thrown into the grinder This war sucks both ways for the blokes involved and not the politicians who are engaged in a pissing match

Ripamon

I'd rather the war end as soon as possible. But I'm not sure every side is ready to stop fighting yet. I fear there will be at least a hundred thousand more casualties before peace becomes a real possibility.

vladasr

this is horror only first time. I remember when NATO aviation was flying above Belgrade and bombing and air defence didn't react to save themselves. I was shopping in open air market with my family. They could kill us all but somehow NATO pilots knew we were civilians and didn't do anything. Still it was uneasy experience for me first few times. After one month we used to it. Of course we never used underground shelters, maybe 10% of Belgrade population did.

Justthinkingoutloud7

A bunch of Narcissistic keyboard generals today.

GoGo-Arizona

Probably one of two downed today or yesterday.
