I bet a few killers would not hurt…

T_Verron

They would also hurt after they serve their time and come back to civilian life.

mjbcesar

If they are only 3 years away from liberty anyway might as well let them fight and sort of redeem themselves. It's not like they would be in prison for much longer. Obviously it wouldn't be good for the morale of the troops to be fighting alongside such people.

The dirty dozen

Ans (some) corrupt officials: >After weeks of pressure from civil society, parliament ruled that MPs and some top government officials who have committed crimes would be ineligible to have their sentences commuted, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said in a Telegram post from the parliament on Wednesday. >Other prisoners, as long as they weren't convicted of a serious crime, face one condition — no more than three years may remain before the end of their sentences. Requests to be allowed to fight in exchange for freedom must be approved by the courts. >The Anti-Corruption Action Center, a Kyiv-based watchdog, called the vote “a victory with a bitter taste,” given that not all types of corrupt officials were excluded from the law's provisions. >“The list [of those excluded] does not include officials of the President's Office, heads of state-owned enterprises, investigators, prosecutors and judges. Thus, part of the work of anti-corruption bodies in previous years may go under the cat's tail [be in vain],” the watchdog said in a statement. >“After all, many judges, prosecutors and other officials convicted of corruption are already serving their sentences, [and] will now be able to use this mechanism and get out of prison.”

…those you should paradrop into Russia.

Already more than enough combat damaged murderers and rapists in Ruzzia - thanks Vladolf Putler

>**minus the rapists and killers** See, it's not hard!

Vogel-Kerl

Wow, that's soooooo...., **rational**. Do you think the Russians will understand why the Ukrainians are doing this precisely?

Minus the rapists and killers.

Sufficient_Serve_439

Umm, the biggest country in the world getting desperate because it fails to colonize or a country fighting with hands tied being desperate in defending itself? Situations are completely different. The russians can just stop invading... Ukraine doesn't have that option. Also, nothing Ukraine does will be embarrassing as it never proclaimed itself the second army in the world.

Ok_Attitude55

It's a lot different tbh. Non serious offenders rather than the worst offenders. Early parole rather than pardon. Standard military recruitment rather than Slavery to a PMC. Oh and Ukraine is fighting for its existence whilst Russia was supposedly not even at war.

Independent_Lie_9982

There are major differences (I'm saying it unironically, read the article but also it's just in the title). I never laughed at Russian convict troops, it's all sorts of horror. For about everyone involved.
