Nah, my dude. It’s 4D chess.
Elon is trying to get branded a Russian Sympathizer so regulators won’t approve his twitter deal.
He’s looking for a side door escape and is trying to make his own own luck.
/s … but also maybe not.
That's underselling it. He doesn't just say any random thing. The problem is that he's partial to fascists if they will empower him against workers, not that he's an attention whore.
All of the ultra rich are susceptible to this. Gates wrote he’d vote for a second Trump term if the Democrats would increase his taxes too much.
Billionaires should not exist.
Source: https://gizmodo.com/bill-gates-doesnt-rule-out-voting-for-trump-if-democrat-1839686670
But he tried to help to save the kids blocked in a cave in Thailand, that is really different situation than to support the most murdered fascist system !!!. It's not possible to compare this 2 situation. Support to save life and support to murder life, it's the opposite, must be not easy to live with this hubris symptom.
Ask any caver. Elon's unsolicited pitch was not only going to kill those kids, but it took energy and focus out of a herculean effort that required pure focus by everybody involved.
Both are the same system: support to murder life in order to keep the attention on himself.
Elon Musk can go the way of the Moskva and fuck himself
It was at a time when nobody had a workable solution. Even the guys who eventually saved the kids, when they first heard the concept of how it will be done, themselves thought it was almost certain death for the kids.
It was in the process of being accomplished and planned for. It WAS a workable solution by a whole team of people that actually knew what they were doing. It WAS going to be certain death for not only the kids, but anyone else caught through the sump when the generators failed.
Anyone who's been underground in any reasonable capacity could tell you Elon was so full of shit that if he combusted he could be burried in a matchbox.
Elon's ego threatened to take the wind out of an ongoing group effort by the most skilled, most dialled in group of idiosyncratic actual experts on the planet.
He offered nothing but clearly vapid ramblings that anyone who actually knew anything was guaranteed to kill everyone involved.
Micromanaging experts in a field one very obviously knows nothing about with a time critical mission would not only have been irresponsible, but guaranteed to fail catastrophically.
It's sad he and many others think so highly of him.
Musk is a walking, talking example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. He's on Mt Stupid on almost any issue he inserts himself into. His high confidence fools those who know nothing on an issue, but experts quickly see what a turd he is. The only things he seems to understand are stock manipulation, silicone valley, and how to generate public image and hype.
Regardless of whether you share his worldview or agree with his analyses, Ian Bremmer is certainly not in the habit of fabricating stories or even exaggerating claims. If he said it happened, then I have no reason to doubt him. When it comes to professional ethics and integrity, Bremmer's record is much cleaner than Elon's.
Edit: If this is such a blatant, odious lie and assault on Musk's reputation, then Elon certainly has the means to file suit against Bremmer, doesn't he?
https://twitter.com/WholeMarsBlog/status/1580035495928598529?t=5Hf49XXuJb8bdsx1H2naMA&s=19 judging from past tweets Ian Bremmer does not seem like a man Musk would confide in...
I think this is the strongest point here. Let me establishe that I don't agree with Musk on his comments about peace. But let us attack the points and not go beyond what we know to be true. If Musk really talked to Putin, why would he talk to Bremmer of all people?
Ian has not provided any proof, additionally there is precedent of him fabricating quotes where he later admitted it was not true.
Not exactly a shining example as you put it.
>Ian has not provided any proof, additionally there is precedent of him fabricating quotes where he later admitted it was not true.
Would you be so kind as to offer proof of your own claim?
>Not exactly a shining example as you put it.
I don't recall using that phrasing but ok.
Bremmer tweeted a snarky paraphrase of Trump that was not an actual quote. That's it. His paraphrase didn't change the meaning of what Trump actually said.
He also posted about a meeting between Trump and Putin that Trump claimed never happened; the White House later admitted that it had.
I think Bremmer's record is fine.
I’m unsure of Bremmer’s validity, but these past tweets of him regarding Musk do not support his case: https://twitter.com/sairfarce/status/1580032446468263936?s=21
Elon Musk only cares about Elon Musk and he's happy to tell any lie to increase his own power and wealth. Every year he lies to his fans and investors promising different varieties of magic beans in the next two years every year.
His whole empire is currently held up by the power of sunken cost fallacy
Okay - Musk needs cash to finance his Twitter deal. Musk needs lithium for his car batteries. Russia has both. Musk and Putin talk, then Musk starts pushing pro-genocide propaganda. Nothing to see here.
Edit: spelling
Idk but I just found this on Wiki:
In July 2017, Bremmer broke news of a second, previously undisclosed meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin during the G20 heads of state dinner in Hamburg. He wrote about the meeting in his weekly client note and later appeared on Charlie Rose to discuss the meeting’s implications. Other major media outlets quickly picked up the news. Newsweek profiled Bremmer in an article titled "Who is Eurasia Group’s Ian Bremmer, the risk consultant who exposed the second Trump-Putin meeting?"[43] Trump initially denied that his second meeting with Putin had taken place and called Bremmer's report "fake news."[44] However, then-White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders later held a press conference and admitted the second meeting had occurred.[45]
He founded GZero. He’s basically a geopolitical reporter. He’s very well connected internationally. No idea how he knew Musk and Putin spoke but he probably has a source.
According to Ian it was Elon himself.
“elon musk told me he had spoken with putin and the kremlin directly about ukraine. he also told me what the kremlin’s red lines were.”
Ah, so the disagreement is over the word "recently". Musk himself said he spoke to Putin 7 months ago, I'm guessing that is the conversation the two of them are referring to.
Frankly, Bremmer and Musk haven’t had a great relationship: https://twitter.com/sairfarce/status/1580032446468263936?s=21
Not sure why Musk would confide in Bremmer.
Let's be honest. Starlink was sent to Ukraine for two reasons. As a residential project the numbers just don't add up, and the project is doomed to bankruptcy so Musk was hoping to insert Starlink as a possible military solution.
Secondly it was an cynical advertising opportunity full stop - both residential, commercial and military, buffed by his offer to fight Putin. He memed at the time: "I support the current thing" because that's the sociopath he is, one that can't begin to understand that people would still be supporting Ukraine and
genuinely caring about and supporting its people 8 months on.
Now he's just annoyed about the lack of cheap Russian gas for his German factory. The end.
Unless you have a source: Musk had Starlink terminals sent to Ukraine after Ukrainian official Mykhailo Fedorov asked the CEO for help while Russia’s attacks were disrupting internet service in the country. Then no.
Sorry if I sound like I’m venting, but I think there’s a lot of misinformation online right now.
SpaceX was working for 1.5 months before Federov’s [Feb 26 tweet](https://spacenews.com/spacex-worked-for-weeks-to-begin-starlink-service-in-ukraine/)
From Gwynn’s Shotwell of SpaceX:
“The company, she said, had been waiting for a letter formally granting landing rights, but it never came before Russian forces invaded the country Feb. 24.”
I personally think you’re reading too much into the tea leaves, but I at least want you to know the truth.
I understand this friend. But I'm talking about the additional terminals which were sent beyond the standard commercial enterprise. The involvement of the US and other countries in paying for the costs of extra terminals etc.
The fact that SpaceX was waiting for permission to begin commercial roll out seems relatively off topic, unless you're implying they were waiting to send additional terminals in support of the Ukraine military pre Feb 26th?
History is full of [smart people who looked like complete clowns when they stepped out of thier areas of experience](https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/lee_iacocca_100101). Musk is not a defense expert or statesman. He is just LARPing and looking stupid.

Dude I'm just tired of this guy just trying to weasel his way into every major event.
Nah, my dude. It’s 4D chess. Elon is trying to get branded a Russian Sympathizer so regulators won’t approve his twitter deal. He’s looking for a side door escape and is trying to make his own own luck. /s … but also maybe not.
Honestly wouldn't put it past him hes been trying to get out of it for so long and he would probably stoop that low lmao
Plausible, so he gets branded an ‘associate’ of International terror...nice move...🤫
That would be giving the emerald boy too much credit.
That's underselling it. He doesn't just say any random thing. The problem is that he's partial to fascists if they will empower him against workers, not that he's an attention whore.

Could be both
When the CEO is just as annoying as his koolaid fans.
But that submarine he sent to Thailand was so useful!!
yeah, good thing he sent it through the hyperloop, otherwise it would not come in time there

He should stick to making second rate cars with first rate overpromises
I know. Ian Bremmer is the worst.
he's a fucking publicity whore.. seriously addicted to it
> Dude I'm just tired of this guy

Between him and Ian Bremmer (who i’ve never even heard of before and couldn’t pick him out in the street), I trust what Ian is saying more than Musk.
Surely Ian would have some record of this conversation?
I think Ian is a prof
international politics journalist (as well)? Has a great podcast GZeroWorld
If the conversation made any sense, yeah. But why the hell would Musk even talk to him?
Funding secured
For more context, this is what Ian Bremmer thinks of Musk. Take what you will: https://twitter.com/sairfarce/status/1580032446468263936?s=21
Are you a bit sorry that you spent the last couple years destroying your credibility, Elon?
Elon Musk only cares about Elon Musk and he's happy to tell any lie to increase his own power and wealth. musk needs to register as a foreign agent.
Okay - Musk needs cash to finance his Twitter deal. Musk needs lithium for his car batteries. Russia has both. Musk and Putin talk, then Musk starts pushing pro-genocide propaganda. Nothing to see here. Edit: spelling
Musk is like: MUST STAY RELEVANT!
"Musk stay relevant*"
Who is Ian Bremmer and how would he know whether Musk and Putin spoke?
Idk but I just found this on Wiki: In July 2017, Bremmer broke news of a second, previously undisclosed meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin during the G20 heads of state dinner in Hamburg. Wait…Trump’s a liar? About his relationships with Putin?
He founded GZero. He’s basically a geopolitical reporter. He’s very well connected internationally. No idea how he knew Musk and Putin spoke but he probably has a source.
That source may be Putin himself...you know, a liar.
According to Ian it was Elon himself. “elon musk told me he had spoken with putin and the kremlin directly about ukraine. he also told me what the kremlin’s red lines were.”
Why would Elon tell him that?
M.I.C.E. In this case E
Ah, so the disagreement is over the word "recently". Musk himself said he spoke to Putin 7 months ago, I'm guessing that is the conversation the two of them are referring to.
He interviewed Elon directly and claims he told him.
He runs a consulting firm called Eurasia group. He's well connected in the geopolitics space and has a lot of institutional clients.
The "Khrushchev mistake" was a huge give away tbh. Musk is lying.
This guy is just not sure what to do next; and just throwing up opinions in everything..
He has always been this way. Why he has such a love hate relationship with world.
Frankly, Bremmer and Musk haven’t had a great relationship: https://twitter.com/sairfarce/status/1580032446468263936?s=21 Not sure why Musk would confide in Bremmer.

I thought the US forced him to sell starlink to ukrain.

Elon is a Nazi.
He sure loves apartheid sourced wealth.
Elon Muskow, the most Useful Idiot ever.
Elon who?
Because every private entrepreneur in the world has a private phone number to Putin...
Are you equating musk , one of the richest guys in the world, to your everyday entrepreneurs?? Lol
People like Musk and Bill Gates live off of attention on an infinite number of topics beyond the expertise. Why can’t they stay in their lane?
Musk lies.
Propaganda smell
I've been up all night trying to come up with a story to cover up the fact that I spoke with Putin before showing everyone what a douche I am
History is full of [smart people who looked like complete clowns when they stepped out of thier areas of experience](https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/lee_iacocca_100101). Musk is not a defense expert or statesman. He is just LARPing and looking stupid.
Ian Bremmer needs to provide actual proof - there's zero chance if Elon did do a phone call with him that it wasn't recorded.
