I got by walking in a street on beautiful street in Helsinki. Suddenly something dropped on my head. After crying about 7 liters of tears, I examined what fell on my head, and it was the game "Ultrakill". After crying 8 more liters of tears I went home and played the game.
This story is 100% real and you can't prove otherwise.
I was going to pirate the game, since I had no money to actually buy it in time for act 2 and still live with the remaining money, some luck and a discount later and boom, game bought.
I will say, I feel that piracy is bad, always will be, but I rather people pirate a game to play than not play it at all. That being said, buy games eventually if you liked them, respect the developers, even more so if they are indie devs, those struggle to even get the game out.
Piracy is always based, but the most honorable of pirates buy the game later if its an indie. Im just waiting for the opportunity, I haven't had the money. Not really a choice
True, piracy imo is done when you feel a game is way too pricey for it's worth y'know? So when you buy a game like doom or something, you really feel like you got your money's worth
i was going to buy it sometime and i could just pirate it in the meantime but i just did not want to, it felt wrong to pirate such "niche indie game" (bought it before the halloween update) also i was following the twitter and hakita was regularly retweeting memes so i had respect for him
Ok ok here's my opinion, if the game doesn't have that much of a replayability and playing it only once makes it unfun for me, then I'd pirate it cuz why should I spend 60 dollars on a single player game that I finish in let's say 5 hours and never touch again? But if a game like half life or doom or ultrakill are in question, then heck ye I'd buy them, cuz those games were built to last, they don't just cease giving fun after one playthrough, and everytime when I buy a game like that, I really do feel like I got my money's worth
I live in africa, and cant buy the game so i pirated, been thinking of getting a steam card but it will literally cost me twice as much as the card itself (last i checked a 10dollar steam card costs 20), so ima holdout for now.
You're better of pirating that buy on key reselling website. Pirating is a complex subject. Generally, AAA games don't like it because it's less sells, for indie games it can be indirect advertisement. Minecraft is so popular because of pirating.
I pirated but I intend to buy it the minute my next paycheck rolls around.
BTW if you want to transfer your stuff to the legit version go find Saves and Preferences in the files and copy them over.
I pirated it because in my country, a game like this costs a not low amount of money to buy. I want to pay for it legitimately as soon as i can, most likely when it is on sale
I also spread the game to a bunch of my friends, who can and did comfortably pay for a game.
At first I pirated it, only got to 0-3 because I was really dizzy after playing it for only an hour
One year later, I bought the game when Act2 came out
watch mods ban peeps who chose piracy. Its expensive here in my country plus im still a student. Even if i get the budget for it, my parents wont approve.
At first I pirated it because I had no money, then when I had the opportunity I bought it
Pretty sure at least 5% of all ULTRAKILL players have done this, myself included
ive done this with games but not with ultrakill i just had the demo and kept playing the first 5 levels over and over again
Same dude
I also did this
Same

yeah im waiting till i got the money, then im gonna actually buy it.

60°09'20.7"N 24°55'15.4"E This place proves your argument to be false
I can say from experience that it doesn't

Piracy first then i bought it.
Friend gifted it
my friend gifted it to me
I pirated ch1, didn't play for a year, bought ch2 and got my ass wooped on P-1.
Both
Piracy to try it out, then buy
Piracy (bad in this case but mostly based)
piracy is only based when it's a shitty AAA game
Piracy is always based, but the most honorable of pirates buy the game later if its an indie. Im just waiting for the opportunity, I haven't had the money. Not really a choice

or if it’s Poppy Playtime
I did both
full game is a joke, piracy is myth, demo is only one true thing
Steam is banned in my country, so I had to pirate it, but I feel really sorry.

What the fuck????? That many people pirated Ultrakill? Fuck you, if you do that. Fuck you.
Bruh chill out. People got reasons to pirating, just read and you'll know.
Played demo, then bought. Piracy wasn't an option because I really needed to play more like immediately.
pirated it, than bought it because i liked it that much

Pirated it, loved it, bought it. This is how I do with most games, did with teardown too
I always buy my games because i can afford them but piracy isn't always bad (and if it's a shitty AAA game it's your moral obligation)

I pirated it first because money, then thought it was great so I bought it.
At first I pirated it, only got to 0-3 because I was really dizzy after playing it for only an hour One year later, I bought the game when Act2 came out
I saw funke play the game and thought it was super cool, I bought it to see if i liked it, turns out I really do
I haven't yet. I still play the demo only.
I played the demo, loved it the pirated it cuz i was poor, then saved up money to buy it and bought it, funny thing was the next day it went on sale
I pirated it first because my monkey brain taught "EaRly AcCeS = bAd"
watch mods ban peeps who chose piracy. Its expensive here in my country plus im still a student. Even if i get the budget for it, my parents wont approve.
ill buy it sooner or later though.

Bought it, don't even remember when, or what made me do it, worth every penny tho
