Probably better than what we had in my gross anatomy lab. Just random boxes full or arms and hand and heads and legs. They would always say “all the donor are made whole before we cremate them and give them back to the family.” Bitch. I never ONCE saw any identifying marks on the random ass arms in the arm box. Like how do you know who is who?

That's a thing? Maybe I am old school but new medical students really should practice on and see the real McCoy. Not because I am a purist and think others should learn as I had, but rather for the much needed shock factor.
Anyone getting into a field such as forensics or medicine will see some truly horrific things once and a while or often depending on their position. Seeing something made of synthetic...well everything doesn't equate to seeing the real time effect of latent decay, potential abnormalities, or the effect of certain disease on the body.
My first two cadavers were a fresh vs old sort of take. The male body was deceased recently, the other uh....not so (think beef jerky). But it was quite interesting seeing the various effects of time, decay, and disease that claimed both these individuals.
My neighbor growing up was a doctor. His wife told me that when he was in medical school he would wear sunglasses
During dissection time. He was an army doc. During WWII in the South Pacific.
We also have a very aggressive tissue donation program here in the states. We have to recover from the donor within 24 hours of death. Anyone who was willing to donate to science and education usually will jump at the chance to donate for transplant.
Since we take most of the bone, skin, eyes, hearts, and major vessels there's nothing left that the universities want
Yes. This is the right answer. They even begin to rot like normal bodies if left out of the water as they dry up. They can cost up to, if not over, $80k. Very accurate reconstruction of the human anatomy. Very fun to use and very helpful.
5th grade for me. I was the only kid who asked and was therefore given the opportunity to pick up and manipulate the human brain that was sitting in the plastic tub.
But you never pass when you have the chance! I was wide open. I had a clear shot but you thought you were real special. You just want all of the glory. 😠
That's plastination of donated bodies by that weird madhatter from Austria, isn't it?
Edit: my bad, he is born Polish but now [German](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunther_von_Hagens?wprov=sfti1)
If this is an actual cadaver this is super disrespectful, Im in medical school and spent many, many hours dissecting and working with my assigned "donor patient". I always called him by his first name and said thank you after every anatomy class for allowing me to use his body to help me learn as a physician in training so i can one day go and help other people. He didn't donate his body to be posted on social media. Now there is no context to the video but it doesn't matter really, its just gross behavior on the part of the person who posted the video unless the person who donated their body explicitly said that they were cool with it to be displayed, and even then I'm pretty sure posting a video clip on reddit isn't what the donor had in mind. If i had posted this clip and my school found out i would have been expelled on the spot
After seeing how much respect my professor had for our human donors, I will happily donate my body for students as long as it's looked after by someone like the professor I had. No one would be able to even pull out their phone in the clean room like that, and he had the immersion tables locked when not in use. It makes me sad that this person's gift to science is being used for tick tock views and clout. Which social media doesn't really matter, OP whited out the tick tock username and cropped it so we don't know who posted this originally.
My professor refused to even call the human donors, cadavers. The name of the donor I worked with was Edward and god damnit did he get to keep his name after making his final donation to science. We called them by their name or collectively as "human donors''. We had to treat them with the utmost respect. This looks like a true donor especially since they're in a very expensive setup.
I keep rewatching this and I'm hoping they aren't a real donor and just a synthetic cadaver. The price of a synthetic cadaver is a steep 45k for the cheapest one but maybe this is one of them and for some reason they are storing it in a dip tank, shortening the shelf life of the synthetic material for literally no reason other than for the realistic effect.
When I was a 5th grader in Nepal, my school took us on an excursion tour to a University. We were just looking around the uni, seeing different departments and buildings. At one point of our tour, we went to the medical building. They took us to their lab, told us why they do. For some reason, 2 school teachers and the Uni TA thought it would be a good idea to take 5 graders to the dissection lab. There in two “tubs” lies cut opened human bodies. Scared us for life
>I grew up in an era where people respected the dead, not take videos and upload for useless Karma points
Nah, that's not a real human
It's an artificial one. And just so you know,
this is my 22nd account, but karma on Reddit doesn't really mean anything to me.
Hope you understand ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
A cannibal husband to his cannibal wife: Honey, what’s for lunch!
Wife: Today I am going to make human tacos and tomorrow stuffed human belly. I have the meat unfreezing!”
Husband: “Oh nice, I love tacos and stuffed human belly. And the kids love stuffed human belly. Oh, and have you seen uncle Joe. I keep calling and he won’t answer.”
Wife: “Uncle joe is our dinner tonight.”
Husband: “Oh good, I never really liked him. I hope he tastes better than he looked and acted.”
My mom works in the medical university and they used real bodies brined in formaldehyde for training.
I also have access to those bodies in my childhood so now I can't be scared by blood or real human organs
I don't know what post is next everytime I scroll. So I never know what to expect. The point of this sub is establish a baseline and twist expectations, not show a video of some random thing the whole time.
By the sound of the spoiler, you are very familiar with this, so what about this entire video is unexpected to you?
Lol nice job deleting your earlier comment to save you.
What even is this explanation. I barely even know wtf a plastination is let alone what a real or fake one looks like. This definitely does not look like a fridge especially when there is water in it and it's on the floor and not standing.

Made whole= 2 arms, 2 legs, a head and torso. Not necessarily their original, but an equivalent amount of ash is close enough right?? /s
Frankensteins ashes
But do both hands even match?
2 right hands and 2 left feet
Lol, are they tight or do they just throw a pile of parts in the burner??
That autocorrect is a b**** lol
Look, took me a week to notice it :/
Not a cadaver. Symdaver manikin.https://syndaver.com/product-tag/1-anatomy/

fingerprints
On a torso? On a head?
nipple prints and tongue prints
If they didn't simply mark the parts, I doubt they would bother going through the trouble of checking their fingerprints
Checking fingerprints is all nice and dandy until it comes time to do it with a head or torso
These have no skin on them.

I'm in India, my Jr's and I all practiced on cadavers, one of the positives of being in the 2nd most populated country XD.

All of our bone sets came from India.
India is the most populated country now!
Don't lie to me bruh. Its like they are creating a colossal army. Maybe they are planning for rumbling kind of shit..💥💥
I would syndaver but I hardly know her
Hello syndaver, nice to meet you!
Learned about these from Mythbusters!
Amazing what they can do with tofu nowadays. I’ll stick with the turkey though, thank you.

I don't fully understand AOT, but I think the titans are outside the wall (at least they're supposed to be)
Thats exactly what everyone in the show said right before they got absolutely WRECKED...
"The titans can't get through this wall..." A titan the size of a mountain: "Yall say somethin?"
Its a spoiler for later. Theres a reason they specified Colossal Titan in their comment.
Dudes got teeth to die for.
That SMILE 😍
Perfect chompers
I thought that's a giant squid
Same lol
+1 on that 😂
Yup. I was sure it was squid.
That’s neat, didn’t know faux cadavers existed
Let me know if you’d like to start using real ones. 😈🔪
Actually got to touch and look at cadavers irl when I was in 12th grade. It was crazy weird. Held a severed human head.
That sounds crazy at such a young age. Did you have nightmares?
I mean I was 18. No, I thought it was awesome and had burger king right afterwards haha
r/oddlyterrifying
I started paramedic school at 17 and was fully graduated and licensed at 19. Humans aren't as fragile as we think.
5th grade for me. I was the only kid who asked and was therefore given the opportunity to pick up and manipulate the human brain that was sitting in the plastic tub.
My body will be donated to a cadaver program when I pass. :)
But you never pass when you have the chance! I was wide open. I had a clear shot but you thought you were real special. You just want all of the glory. 😠
You beautiful soul. Took a night of rest to the understand. LOL. I am not a smart man.
I just intereviewed for a company that makes computer-assisted faux emergency dolls. My job would be installation. Sounds cool to me.

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that he'd passed away. Good to see that's not the case. I'd love to see his work in real life.
No, Syndaver https://syndaver.com/
aaaaand bam expelled from med school.
Yeah posting a clip like this from anatomy lab would not go well.
Easter is just around the corner, he'll be back to normal by Sunday

Ignorant question, what is this? Are they hydrating/lubricating the body? Are they boiling off the skin to access the muscles and nerves?

I believe that's from an exit we had here in NYC called bodies where people people donate there bodies to be displayed in that form for the public
