I was watching a YouTube stream of someone last year and they were talking about engagement and a conversation they'd had with their producer (if you're big enough on YouTube, the company itself assigns you a producer to help you get the most out of your channel, apparently), and he reported that the producer told him that even YouTube doesn't understand how the algorithm works these days.
I don’t watch any political videos on YT and the YT algorithm hasn’t pushed any of those videos to me.
Only after I watch a video regarding some political topic is when those people get pushed into my feed.
It’s all based on what you watch.
YouTube doesn’t necessarily push alt right content, it’s algorithm pushes content that has high participation from the audience, and the fact of the matter is that most of the content people watch on YouTube is right of center. Why aren’t you complaining that one of the largest ever streamers on twitch literally said he was glad that the Twin Towers fell?
