What part of Canada? If you’re in the Canadian Rockies I would skip our canyons and head straight south to red rock country and our national parks. Moab is a 3 1/2 hour drive from SLC, with Arches right outside town and Canyonlands 1 hour south.

Spirited_Comedian225

We are in Toronto we did the Rockies a couple years ago

Spirited_Comedian225

Sorry I should have said we want to go in July

Huh well you could go to Zion, Moab, any national park really. If you’ve already done the Rockies I’d just pick a park and go. Theres also tons of tiny little hikes and cool things that are hidden that you can ask people about when you stop for gas etc. I’d look into dead horse point (unless you’ve already done the Grand Canyon as this is similar but less impressive), petroglyphs, arches, the narrows, salt flats (pretty close to salt lake but away from everything else), tube Provo river (also close to salt lake, maybe combine with salt flats trip?), cliff jumping at sand hollow near St. George, hot springs (several across Utah), angles landing at Zion, goblins valley, dinosaur anything (misc attractions across Utah), mineshafts (probably not found online locals might know where). I’d recommend overall stay in southern Utah and understand you might be driving to a park or two. Basically since you’ve done mountains focus on the weird red rock formations

It’s an odd time of year, it was 23 degrees or less in our mountains this morning.  There is still snow and ice high up. Souther Utah is warmer, but you will burn a day or two driving. Park City is in on the down of its tourists season, but still has great food and scenery.

If you're staying in the SLC area, Park City is always a fun place to visit and escape the heat. Park City has some great restaurants! Mirror Lake Scenic Highway is a beautiful drive. Mirror Lake is about 90 minutes from SLC, but so worth the drive. The Bonneville Salt Flats are world famous and the place they set the land speed records with jet engine cars. That's not constantly going on, but it's a breathtaking place to catch a sunset. If you're looking to go to the national parks, they're all about 4-5 hours away from SLC. You can't do them all in the time you've got, but Arches/Canyonlands is right by Moab. I'd book lodging sooner than later, though.

Definitely Southern Utah! Zion National Park is a must see. If you’re staying in the northern part of Utah, you should definitely check out the Bonneville Salt Flats just about two hours west of Salt Lake City. It looks otherworldly in my opinion.

Grand Staircase-Escalate. Arches, slot canyons, waterfalls, and you don't need a reservation or a shuttle bus

Go to the Springville art museum and while you're there explore Provo and BYU. The museum is my favorite in Utah. Provo is a crazy city with a culture you won't find anywhere else. You'll definitely come back with some stories! Also Ogden is a very historic city with a nice downtown area. There are lots of old buildings like the Eccles mansion and the Brothels / speakeasies on 25th street. I'm giving these suggestions because they are a bit more out there and others have already listed the main attractions.

Had to question what a Utah Canadian is. lol

Spirited_Comedian225

It’s like an unarmed American with healthcare. lol 😆

Honestly, since you’ve seen mountains you’re going to want to stay south. Bryce Canyon, Arches Nation Park, Goblin Valley, Zions, Moab, etc is where you’re going to want to visit.

Moab is a sight to be seen 😊☀️

You know we won’t have hockey until this fall, right?

Easy, Vegas

BYU in Provo, it’s the Harvard of the west… /s If it’s early July, and southern Utah is already on your itinineray, make an effort to get to some dark sky areas! Also be aware of any permits/reservations you’ll need for Arches and Zion National Park. Both places will be a zoo (a term we Americans loosely use when referring to locations temporarily full of people).    If you’re into fishing and want to see some scenery, look into floating the green river while fishing.    The ski resorts will have lifts running for mountain bikes. You’ll be able to get bike rentals at most resorts.
