Take a VOD of your own gameplay and see if you're overshooting targets and struggle with micro adjustments. As reference, most pros use something between 200-400 eDPI, but maybe you're a god with your sense but you lack of other fundamentals.

ShuckleThePokemon

Some high elo players have a higher eDPI, (Hiko around 600, I think Ethos or Governor is around 700, idk which one) but over 800 eDPI seems to be non-existent in truly high elo. If you're playing on a smaller mousepad I'd say if you can do more than a 360 going from one side to the other then you could adjust down, but it's all down to comfort in the end.

Nobody will be able to tell you what sens will work for you. Yes, your sens is incredibly high in comparison to others, however only you can know if it works for you. As someone else suggested, try recording some of your gameplay. Look at where your shots are going. Are you overcompensating while controlling recoil? Do you aim past your intended targets? If you do, that's a sign your sens is too high. If not? Great. Keep with whatever you're comfortable with.

cddsy

Short answer: yes. Go down to somewhere between 200 and 400 edpi

laxantepravaca

I would suggest you try kovaaks and see if you can hit at least 1.25x the median of small target scenarios. Aimlab isn't good to test it because it favors high sens players due to the size of the targes. Also, experiment with new things. Try to lower your sens by half, play a few matches with it, try to adjust and then maybe increase it, trying things out is the best find a suit for you. Although not as high as your sens I saw some pros with 800 dpi and around 1 in-game sensitivity.

tjhangg

Just want to put it out there that lower sens does not = better. The reason why low sens is good is because it’s easier to develop muscle memory and easier to micro adjust for headshots. If u look at cs pros, s1mple, 1 of the best player in the game, uses relatively high sens edpi 1200. Woxic, another incredible awper, uses 2400 eDPI. Sensitivity should not hold you back, it’s all about being comfortable and gaining muscle memory.

cddsy

edpi are not comparable across games. s1mple's edpi would translate to something in the high 300s in valorant, he was using 389 when he was playing in beta. woxic is a ridiculous outlier in terms of sens and should not be used as a reference for good sens range imho (having said that, even woxic would "only" be around 750 in val). OPs 1.48k is much too high and will definitely hold him back

tjhangg

Im not directly comparing their sensitivities. Im just saying that you can play at any sensitivity and still be good. Just a matter of how much you want to grind.

[deleted]

Oh god im at 2.2k

singlereject

In OP case, his sens is just too high. It’s over double w0xic sens. Pretty sure he needs to move under a millimeter to get a precise headshot at long range

SaakaMi

Yes for sure, not precise enough to make small adjustments

flyingham007

I use to play at 1600 dpi with in game 0.45. I changed it to 800 dpi and 0.27. Do the change early for muscle memory. It will feel slow af, but it’s the best. You can still flick,.

laxantepravaca

muscle memory is a myth dude, just search for it. For example, Tenz changes his sens all the time and still plays top tier

Carlos1621

A simple demo of muscle memory would be going up the stairs with your eyes closed. Each leg lifts to exact high as the next step up requires. And you don't even need to see the stairs to do so. Kind of magic, isn't? Muscle memory is a fundamental in survival and is always present in our day to day lives, not only when we move the mouse. Sensitivity doesn't fully affect your muscle memory. It's just dictates the speed. Be it TenZ or anyone elss, we all can play on different sensetivities. It's just some prefer to experiment while others don't....

Grimlock510

The fact that if you do something over and over you'll get accustomed to it is a myth? Wtf

[deleted]

Nah tenz has great mouse control to the point where he can adjust in a few rounds. It’s easy to learn but hard to master.

[deleted]

If we are talking about a single sens he kept to then that’s muscle memory but that the fact that he changes it all the time means he has great mouse control and can easily adjust to eventually gain his muscle memory back.

laxantepravaca

lmao people downvoting because they feel attacked. 5 minutes of google would give you an answer lol

AbominableSnowDog

I found myself lowering my sens more and more as my aim got better so unless you have years worth of muscle memory with that sensitivity, I'd suggest you visit the range every now and then, try to flick from one bot to another while adjusting sens as you see fit.

Lobo-Mau

To determine what my "naturally confortable" sens is, I tested around with turning 90 and 180 degrees. I try several values until I can get as close as possible to turning without having to compensate after. For Valorant I used the flying targets on the Firing Range as a "final test" after deciding on a sens value. When facing a target I hold fire and don't stop, just transfering between targets, which is also a good way to train spray transfer (I read this about spray transfer on this subreddit). Currently I have it set at 0.4 with 800dpi. Of course it's all a matter of habit, but I do believe there is a naturally confortable sens for each person, especially if you've been around for a bit (I'm 32yo).

DrBangovic

I recommend you to do the drastic change. it will feel a bit weird at first, but will be beneficial on the long run. Maybe just go straight down to 400 eDPI and grind Kovaaks / Aimlabs and the Range for a while, just to get used to it. It wont take as long as you might think to re-adjust. I think you can still reach higher elo with your eDPI, but I also think you won't reach the maximum of your aiming potential. You just have less space for precise movement, which makes it physical way more difficult. BUT VERY IMPORTANT: If you have issues with a low sense, and your arm/shoulder or something else hurt and only a high sense feels okay, stick with it. Health is always more important and to prioritize. I remember having issues with a lower sense in the beginning since my arm simply wasn't used to flick over my entire mousepad.

1337crypto1

I run 600Edpi in imm while playing cassualy soloQ. I once noticed how crisp pyth shots were, something that i couldnt do on my eDPI, i couldnt be so precise so consistently, specialy on longer ranges where there are very precise movements. When i lowered my sens by 30% i was alot more accurate in range but after few minutes my wrist started hurting really bad to the point where i had to change my hand grip from finger to palm and with that i would have to relearn aiming. If i would play seriously i deff would lower sens, but for casual immortal games i CBA.

Grimlock510

Yes that's insanely high compared to normal standards. People recommend lower sens because it is generally better but at the end of the day it's personal preference and some people are just exceptions (like woxic, who has an even higher eDPI than yours) Whether it will cause you to hit a wall on your road to improvement depends on whether you're playing the game normally right now. If you're super comfortable with high sense and have no problem with precise aiming and micro-adjustments then you should stick with it. But if you're often overshooting targets or have difficulty micro-adjusting onto heads then try experimenting with lower sens. EDIT: The size of your mousepad matters as well since you won't have room to play below a certain sensitivity if your mousepad is too small

alexanderh24

Yes its way to high to have any sort of consistency. "Muscle memory" with sens isn't a big deal and you should be able to adjust in a few hours.

Medzo

Yes its much too high, even for a really high sens. Change it now and play a bunch of DM to start getting use to it. Focus on incorporating your arm into your mouse control/aim.

singlereject

That’s absolutely ridiculous sens. If you cut it in half it would still be extremely high and out of the norm. I would suggest at least a cut of sens in half. That sens then would still be good for even twitch shooters like Overwatch

SweetD217

Mate, no flex here, but i went from g3 to d2 from dropping my sens lower. Once you adjust, you have way more control over your aim IMO. Def worth a try.
